Ronaldo has scored a penalty goal in the knockout grin

Now we change the story to, Ronaldo has not scored a non-penalty goal in the Knockout round of a. World cup grin
Is scoring a goal at the knock out stage of the WC supposed to be an achievement to Ronaldo? This is his 6th WC.

That's exactly how most of his career has played out. 60 minutes of nothing and his team is awarded a penalty. He scores the penalty and he starts comparing himself with Messi that decides his team play from the beginning of a match

So if it's not Uzbekistan, Ronaldo cannot score. Oga is just slowing down Portugal's attack and counter

Please we know you are far better and ahead of him and when next the presidency returns to the south after Tinubu 8 years and another 8 years in the north, we will surely queue behind and vote for you

A replay would be lovely. Even lovelier Mbappe and co caries it this time. I foresee a lopsided final.
Never you write off Argentina, their kind of play always make it seems their opponents aren't good or doing enough. Romero, Otamendi, Lisandro Martinez, Molina and De Paul are still playing. These players always turns warriors whenever their matches becomes war

But I would really like to watch France conceding first against any of the other big teams and see how they would respond

dgr8truth:
Nice attempt at a strawman argument, but nobody said ongoing infrastructure projects should be put on hold. There is a massive difference between everyday governance and a sudden, desperate fiscal U-turn on import duties right before an election cycle.

As for Trump—you literally just admitted he ended the war because the Republicans were losing ground ahead of the midterms. Thank you for proving my point! It wasn't done out of sudden love for humanity; it was a desperate political calculation to salvage an election. That is exactly what this duty reduction is. We will take the cheap cars, but don't expect us to clap for a government that only remembers our welfare when their jobs are on the line in 2027.
Firstly, Tinubu is not losing ground, Na some of una just they liter the internet with noise. If Nigeria presidential election is held today, Tinubu will win far more than the votes he got in 2023. So, the narrative that he is reducing import duties on cars because he wants to win the 2027 election is flawed.

Everyone's 'tomorrow' is guaranteed to come, but that doesn't mean we should tolerate bad governance today. Asking if I'm dying tomorrow completely misses the point. The policy is too late because the economic damage has already been done over the last three years. We shouldn't have to wait until the brink of an election year to see policies that actually benefit everyday people
So because it's an election year every policies by the government for the good of the citizens should be put on hold till after the election? Should the FG also put on hold the reconstruction of several road projects currently ongoing in the country, including the 2nd Niger bridge access roads, the Sokoto/Badagry super Highway and the recently approved 27 road all over the country till after the election?
Then lastly, All over the world, government comes up with policies for the betterment of the citizens even with just a day to an election.
Trump has just ended the Iran war because it's clear that that Republicans will be losing at their next poll. Trump should have waited till after the election before ending the war, even at the detriment of the whole world?

Great post.

Nigerians are generally too greedy and exploitative.

I am a supporter of FG and always call for good governance but I am really surprised no one mentioned the real reason on the FP for this reduction.

Revenue must have drastically dropped. How many Nigerians buy cars again?

I recall when it was always very easy to see the latest models of Toyota, Honda and Benz

Now, people still hang on to their 2015 models because anything from 2020 will cost an arm and a leg
Which revenue must have dropped? Hope not the custom revenue because the NCS has for the past 3 years surpassed their yearly Revenue targets

The car dealers will still refuse to reduce prices of vehicles despite the duty reduction. Just like the petroleum marketers and refiners are refusing to reduce prices of petroleum products despite reduction in global crude oil price.

Now that the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) is about to kick off.. most Nigerian businesses will beg on their knees for patronage but won't get.. Nigerians won't buy from them anymore and of course other African countries won't patronize their overpriced goods.
With "One African market' coming into force, let's see how MOMAN and likes will survive. I want to see how Dangote will force Nigerians to buy his 12k per bag cement when 6-7k cement from other countries will be freely available in the market.
You see that cement issue? It's time the FG opens our borders to the importation of cement so that our cement manufacturers will face real competition

A fantastic and long-overdue initiative—slashing car duties will definitely ease the burden on everyday citizens. However, it’s quite telling that it took this government over 3 years of crushing economic pressure to finally implement a pro-people policy. It feels like too little, too late. If the 2027 elections are truly free and fair, they’ll find out that Nigerians have long memories, and a last-minute tariff cut won't automatically erase years of hardship at the ballot box
It feels like it's too late? Are you dying tomorrow?

NYSCRe: NYSC Reform: A Big Idea Built On A Weak Foundation by Sugarboyy(m): 1:11pm On Jul 01
You know why most times I don't even bother to take most Nigerians seriously? Because they will always complain. They will always find negatives in every positives but ask them the solution, just like Peter Obi, they will tell you that they don't want to reel out the solutions they have in mind so that it won't be stolen. Before now, if you had asked this writer to come up with comprehensive plans to reform and reposition the NYSC, he would say the scheme is better the way it's right now. But here he is looking for negatives from this well thought out plans from the FG to reform reposition the NYSC.
Tinubu is a reformer and he is already reforming Alot of abnormalities that previous presidents refused or failed to do just because they were scared of losing votes (mostly votes from northerners)

Koeman messed up big time. How can you play a 5-4-1 against Morocco, leaving only Frenkie and Gravernbech in the midfield?
I was shocked when I went through the Dutch line up and noticed Koeman was starting with 5 defence and only De Jong and Gravenberg in midfield

⚫⚪#Fulham have submitted an improved bid for Trabzonspor defender Chibuike Nwaiwu after their initial €20 million offer was rejected.

#Trabzonspor are reportedly holding out for around €30 million before agreeing to sell the 22-year-old centre-back.

According to Turkish outlet @Taka61, the Premier League side have now returned with a €25 million proposal for the #Nigeria international as they look to strengthen their defence. Everton and Westham rumored to be interested too
Nwaiwu is good, I love his passionate way of defending but I must say, Fulham already have Bassey and this Moroccan Issa Diop is also a Fulham player. Can Nwaiwu bench Diop? Because I personally don't want him to go to Fulham and be staying on the bench

Same way customers can also be cruel to bank workers and citizens cruel to the police 🤣
If we expect workers in other sphere of life to do their jobs perfectly, why can't we expect same from sportsmen?
