Atiku Abubakar: The fate of Raila Odinga of Kenya or the destiny of Abraham Lincoln of USA

Alh. Atiku Abubakar is a renowned politician who originated from Adamawa state in the NorthEast part of Nigeria.

The journey of Alh. Atiku Abubakar in the Nigeria mainstream politics started from the Nigeria Custom Service before rising to prominence and eventually became the vice president of Nigeria working with former president Olusegun Obasanjo in the People's Democratic Party (PDP) between 1999-2007, jointly steering the wheel of administrating the office of the president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Atiku Abubakar relationship with his superior became frosty as he was nursing the ambition to become the president, while his superior was alleged to be plotting to amend the 1999 Nigeria Constitution to allow his third term ambition.

Atiku Abubakar left the PDP because of the rancour and disagreement with Former President Olusegun Obasanjo, and pitched his tent with the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) to contest for the apex office against the Umar Musa Yaradua of PDP who later emerged as the winner of the election.

Alh. Atiku Abubakar was alleged to have redirected and siphon the funds meant for the Mambilla Power Project, privatise and sold the National Electricity Power Authority (NEPA) to his political allies during his time in the Presidency as the head of Privatisation, an allegation he denied on countless occasions.

Alh. Atiku Abubakar have consistently pursue his presidential ambition for over 20years on different political platforms and parties but yet to emerge as the President of Nigeria in any of those electoral contests.

Many have compared the travails and relentless pursuit of Waziri Adamawa to the Raila Odinga of Kenya, who contested the Office of the President of the East Africa country on countless occasions but never emerge, and was retired into history of African Prince who never became the king. Some referred to his failure as a message that he was not favour by the gods of the land or destined to rule despite his manifestoes, trials, campaigns and continuous contest for the Presidency.

Many Nigerians have also raised concerns the movement of Alh. Atiku Abubakar from one political party to another, some liken the action to that of a tourist and wanderer, journeying around without committing to a particular abode but constantly flowing and floating without settlement or stability.

These actions have been justified because freedom of movement, right to lawful assembly and association is a constitutional and fundamental human rights, and not a genuine or valid reason to downplay the vision of Alh. Atiku Abubakar for Nigeria.


Abraham Lincoln before becoming the President of the United States of America (USA) failed on countless occasions but eventually won the Presidential contest due to his persistence and never give up spirit.

Could this be the motivation for Alh. Atiku Abubakar to keep trying and pursuing his ambition in every presidential contest in Nigeria?

The revelations made by Olusegun Obasanjo and other tantrums meted out on his former deputy have also tainted the picture Atiku Abubakar is painting.

Without consulting the Oracle or soothsayer for prediction of electoral outcome in 2027; the signs, the numbers, the alliances, patronage President Bola Tinubu (GCFR) is enjoying from International communities and the endorsement by local stakeholder groups, with established political structure across 176,845 polling units nationwide is already dashing the hope of some supporters of Alh. Atiku Abubakar who subscribed to the narrative of Abraham Lincoln.

Certificates or Skills: Which guarantees employment or empowerment opportunity in Nigeria in 2026?

There was a time in Nigeria that university degrees and diplomas from polytechnics will guarantee you an automatic employment after graduation from the school.

There was a time in Nigeria that best graduating students are awarded with motor vehicles, cash items, scholarship and sponsorship to further the education to Master's and Doctorate level.

These celebrations and how society values education encouraged parents to invest heavily in the education of their children, with education seen as the best legacy to give the child as it promises a brighter future for personal growth, personality development, government employment, opportunities, status and rewards for those committed to the path from the primary level to tertiary level.

There was a time when certificates was more valuable than skills, people with technical skills are rewarded but not celebrated like those with diplomas and degrees.

As the population grows and expanded, private universities and polytechnics also set up across the country, providing opportunities for those who couldn't secure admission in government owned schools and others who see the private establishments as more equipped with more standard facilities, academic friendly environment, organized staffing structure and reputable curriculum that will produce a better, character refined, disciplined and more knowledgeable graduates over government owned tertiary institutions, having spent large sums in school fees in the course of the study.

Year after year, graduates keeps multiplying, certificates produced and awarded at every annual convocation event, admission continues to open to freshers while the cycle continues but numbers of industry declining and employment opportunities not commensurating with numbers of job seekers and graduates.

The tertiary institutions discovered that majority of their past graduates are not able to secure befitting jobs in the labour market, the schools decided to introduced entrepreneurship courses for the undergraduates to learn a skill, trade and other activities that could give them a leverage after graduation to be self-employed if they are not able to secure a government employment or private placement in the corporate world.

With over 16years invested in school (6-3-3-4) to become a graduate without employment, but later advised to abandon certificates and qualifications to start learning a skill or trade for them to be considered for certain roles, the same role that an individual who didn't go through the school system can easily function at after 2-3yrs acquiring knowledge, skills and capacity needed to become a valuable specialist.

Today, People with skills and technical capabilities are more valuable and rewarded, sought after for jobs that technical and practical competence are required. While increasing numbers of graduates are facing the reality of unemployment with some employers requiring for graduates with certain skills, abilities and years of experiences.

These conditions for employment and challenges after spending over 16years schooling have furthered fuel the narrative of school been a scam and have turned many bright graduates without capital for starting a business into internet fraudsters, drug traffickers, prostitutes, kidnappers, armed robbers, cultists and readily available tools for politicians to engage in carrying out their dirty jobs.

One of the most controversial political figure from the northern part of Nigeria is the former governor of kaduna state, his reign as the chief administrator of the state witness death of thousands of people in the hands of the Fulani bandits and other terrorists groups, his actions and body language fueled the crisis across Kaduna state and beyond.

His threat message to foreign election observer to stay away from kaduna or return in body bags, and also claimed to have paid Fulani bandits in Kaduna state to stop killing people. His atrocities against the Christian population in Kaduna state is immeasurable, bringing the same religious divide into governance by removing democratically elected deputy who was a Christian and replaced by a Muslim, a sentiment that also reflected in his appointments and cabinets despite outcry and protest against his nepotism.

His retrenchment of over 20,000 teachers especially Christians from the southern part of the state affected many households, disenfranchised many breadwinners from their legitimate employment and source of living. His determination to annihilate opposition entirely led to destruction of housing properties belonging to Christians, members of opposition, critics and others who belong to other tribes.

Did Tinubu Used El-Rufai to win election and sacrifice him after?

President Tinubu fulfilled his promise of ministerial appointment to El -rufai, but his past atrocities and character hunted him at the Senate screening of nominated ministerial appointees, his failure to handle the insecurity in Kaduna and other ill actions against his subjects in Kaduna shortchanged him.

Since his incarceration for intercepting the phone of the National Security Adviser, other allegations ranging from corruption and mismanagement of funds have been brought forward against him by the ICPC with a stringent bail conditions yet to be perfected, extending his holiday at the DSS quarters beyond 150days.

Moral lesson: In life, when the world seems falling apart and challenges appearing like mountain in our path, we should not lose our sense of purpose, confidence or giving up, instead we should persevere and keep our hope alive.

The outdated academic curriculum in Nigeria schools is the reason many graduates are not productive and lacking necessary skills needed to navigate post school life and career.

The system of education in Europe is one of the reasons the graduates are globally competitive, having exposed to corporate required skills, environment to grow, practical experiments, digital literacy, internship, psychometric test, opportunities for development and curriculum rooted in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM).

The Nigerian elites and politicians are aware about these, that's why majority of them do everything in their power to send their sons and daughters to Europe for College, University education and other Technology driven institutes.

The Commander of Narcotics of the NDLEA in Borno State, Iliyasu Mani, disclosed this in a statement in Maiduguri.

The ancient kingdom of owo is a local government area in Ondo state, Nigeria. Between 1400 and 1600 C.E, it was the capital of a Yoruba city-state.
The first Olowo of Owo was the direct descendant of oduduwa, known as the father of the Yorubas. The current Olowo of Owo is His Imperial Majesty, Alayeluwa Oba Ajibade Gbadegesin Ogunoye III, who is also the 32nd paramount ruler of Owo.

The history of Igogo festival:
This is an annual festival which takes place in Owo. It lasts a total of seventeen days and features a number of ceremonies, including the blessing and introduction of new yams. The festival is in commemoration of the king's wife who turned into a tree while being pursued by the king's slave to return to the palace after her rival violated her taboos in her presence.

During the period of celebration, drums are banned in Owo and metalgongs (agogo) are used instead; this is where "Igogo" was derived. The Olowo, who dresses in coral beaded gown during the period, plaits his hair like a woman. The aim of the festival is to encourage greater involvement of the youths of the community into their cultural norm.

This year edition of the festival witness tourists from outside Nigeria and other media brands in diaspora storming the ancient city to participate and celebrate the cultural richness of owo kingdom.
