I apologize for generalizing
Not all paremts,are achiac and old school

But we cannot deny that 80% of them are indeed old fashioned.
The world is changing every season
The way you succeed in 1980, 1990
Is Far different from how to succeed in 2022

These set of parents lived their youthful lives without advanced tech and social media.
These set of parents communicated with relatives using nipost, post letters.

Information was very limited, no YouTube, no Facebook. No general awareness.

But you young generations were born and brought up in the digital age with an influx of information and knowledge at your finger tips.

80% of Parents are still trying to catch up with technology because they weren't born with it.

The youths have more power and exposure than the old school parents.
You are the future, you should lead your old school parents out of ignorance and show them their is more to life.

I barely “listen” to my parents, especially my mom. She has made worst decisions of my life for me. In fact she helped slowed my pace in life; I resent her so much & she knows it. If you follow or listen to them it will end bad for you. Because old school parents are still stuck in the 80s & 90s
They don't know how society has changed and the rules have changed too.
So following them or listening to them will lead to failure and stagnation

I'm sorry you had to experience such from the hands of your mother.
It's not her fault
Next time do things your way and if she tries to blackmail you emotionally then ignore her.
She will still celebrate you when you go your own way and become successful.

A lot of parents are old school people.
They have not travelled the world or experience what life is like outside Nigeria.

They have some ignorant beliefs
Such as Tattoos are evil
Dreadlocks are evil

Ignorance is a very deadly disease
Many of our parents are very ignorant.
They never grew up in the technological phase
The information age, they never experienced it

You have access to all information you need to build and shape your life.
Why listen to your parents old school way of thinking??

Remember in early 2000 when women wearing trouser was forbidden by every Nigerian parent.
That is to show you the level of ignorance and today you see that women wearing trouser is a normal thing.

I never beloved in reincarnation
But after visiting my aunt. I have been left speechless from what I saw.
My grandad died 2001.
My cousin was born 2017
This boy is an ancestor in disguise

He eats just exactly like my grandfather.
My grandad had a unique style of rolling Eba before he eats.

I have never seen anybody roll eba like my grandad. Only this boy and nobody taught him.
