Owen247: Let's say they have 500 batteries for interception, the reloading, launch and interception window will still give room for missile impact. The reload time is enough room for missile to hit, that’s why they say there’s not true air defense. |

ocelot2006: A very fair assessment. True the F-16 is a warbird with a proven & tested combat track record. That said, there are new and more lethal birds in the weapons market that will give the F-16 a run for it's money if flown by a competent pilot. If you most compare any jets made in the 2000s, you have F-22 raptor that was introduced in 2005. Now we can fairly compare. |

Elusive001: There were two drones on the radar initially and fighter jet was scrambled to intercept them. One was shot down. It was not the iron dome that intercepted them, but fighter jets. The other went out of radar making them think that it was downed like the other. It re-emerged afterwards and hit the training Base.
Not all Israel is covered by air defenses. First, I never said iron dome got the downed one. 2nd, you reaffirmed what I said… iron dome is not a 360 degrees radar system, it’s a 180 degrees system that can only see where it’s facing. 3rdly, it fell out of radar they said… in other words they lost it. |

ocelot2006: Special jets indeed. Even the JF-17 Thunder has similar flight characteristcs/qualities as the F-16, and the Chinese J-10C is considered superior. Performance wise the F16 hasn't wowed anyone in battlefield Ukraine; the Russian MiG-31 (Assassin)has performed way better. So you'll excuse us if people are not dazzled by the F-16. F-15 series? Definitely. But F16? Meh... I hope that you do realize that you are comparing F-16 which was operational since the 1970s to JF-17 and J-10C that are both introduced in 2005 and 2007 If you can compare one that was produced 40years before it then it shows that F-16 is truly formidable lol the F-16 must be ahead of its time then in fairness, you should only compare f-16 to its russia counterpart.. the MIG-31 ... no slander or disrespect from any Chinese and pakistani stuff that hasn't seen half operations of the F-16 or Mig-31 lol |
Foreign Affairs › Re: THAAD Can't Tackle Low Flying Rocket And Drones, US, Israel Are Joking by sunboy(m): 6:52pm On Oct 15, 2024 |
Biodun556: But now that iron dome has failed In as much as I do not support the Israeli war ... Iron dome hasn't failed lol If I am being non-biased. All air defenses have one weakness "They can be overwhelmed" The attack on the Golani brigade housing was an ingenious move by Hezbollah and I respect them for that. Iron Dome is not a 360-degree air defense system, instead, it is 180 degrees. It is forward facing, Hezbollah used a drone that flew outside of its range to the West and then U-turn behind its defense to attack that building... while overwhelming the iron dome from the Northern front. Now here is the question: If Hezbollah has the intelligence to know the direction of the Iron dome systems for the barrack, I wonder what else they know or Iran knows about the Israeli defense lol but again, EVERY AIR DEFENSE CAN BE OVERWHELMED. They don't have 500 batteries at all times ready to intersect if 500 missiles are thrown at it. |
Foreign Affairs › Re: THAAD Can't Tackle Low Flying Rocket And Drones, US, Israel Are Joking by sunboy(m): 6:40pm On Oct 15, 2024 |
I do not think that anybody said THAAD was a solution for low-flying drones. The Iron Dome can handle that. THAAD is intended for cruise and ballistic missiles... that being said I hate that the American tax funds are being used to defend Israel... Israel needs to make peace with its neighbors period.
Same for S300 and S400 series, they are designed for long-range, ballistic, cruise missile, and aerial denial defense. The Russians have the Pantsir system for low-flying objects.
Peace starts by removing the settlers in the West Bank and honoring the UN border for the two-state solution. Bibi has clearly said that he is not interested in that. |

Some duns will still defend the bombing of a hospital. Their excuse? Hamas is hiding in there.
Just like the death of over 300 people was justified for killing one man “hezbolah leader”?
Y’all have lost your humanity to this BS!
This is ethnic cleansing not fighting Hamas.

Botragelad: Hezbollah built tunnels right under UNIFIL's nose, and people are ranting about Israel defending itself? UNIFIL's supposed to keep the peace, but what peace are they keeping or kept in Hezbollah's stronghold?
Now, whave they done to stop Hezbollah? Have they enforced Resolution 1701, which says they're supposed to prevent armed personnel and weapons from being in the area? It doesn't seem like it, since Hezbollah's still launching attacks.
And where was UNIFIL all these years while Hezbollah was building tunnels and firing at Israel? Were they just twiddling their thumbs? It's a shame! Israel's got a right to defend itself, and if UNIFIL can't keep the peace, then they should leave.
Am yisreal chai 🇮🇱! Same way Hamas was hiding under hospital lol And HAMAS hiding in humanitarian camps? Journalist being killed in West Bank and Gaza cos they working for Hamas ? Humanitarian workers being killed cos what again And that’s a justification to hit a UNIFIL’s position? Kontinue defending rubbish |

Most of the poor population in Canada are still immigrants who left their countries to Canada. Most have no means of survival or at best are asylum seekers. You’re either an ignorant or you have a problem with immigrants. Most of the homeless people you are 99% citizens. And “poor” immigrants in these countries still work 2-3 jobs to meet ends. |

panafrican: Destroying Iran would not be easy because the Iranians know how Saddam and Gaddafi ended for the latter not having any really dissuasive weapon ( the Atomic bomb). So, watch out guys. Ofcourse, US doesn’t want any major war now with anybody like Iran. The US left Afghanistan, definitely not going back to Middle East anytime soon. Nor fighting anybody’s war, atleast that’s the majority of the people’s feelings about war. No new president want to start with that except for maybe Trump. |

Horus: Iran has gone nuclear since last night. They used the test bombs 10 km below the surface near Semnan to ensure minimum radiation exposure and it resulted in a 4.6 scale earthquake which was recorded by seismographs. Now that’s the thing, drilling 10km below surface is a technological achievement that countries are proud to take about when they achieve such. So Iran would have announced that the world willingly. The longest hole drilled known was 14km by Russia. See why I’d rather wait for a country with the satellite capability to pick up radiation in the area? No matter how deep, satelites will pick up radiation in the area. |

Horus: I believe that underground nuclear tests were conducted by Iran's military I’m still expecting the US or any country at all with satellites to confirm that they picked up radiations in the area. Iran may not confirm it since Israel didn’t acknowledge its own. |
Foreign Affairs › Re: Did Iran Tested A Nuke On Its Desert? by sunboy(op): 2:41pm On Oct 07, 2024 |
MadPolitician: It might be. They were few weeks away from having nukes if they wanted, according to projections. I beleive that the "killing" of their president and the assassination of the Hamas leader in Tehran, would have convinced them that they have to go for the ultimate weapon to protect themselves feom Israel. Moreover, the Americans have been busy tearing up almost all treaties that were put in place to regulate the use of nuclear weapons.
Again, the Russians might even encourage them to do so, since they are a major ally of the Russians in the middle east today. The renewed belligerence of the west towards Russia and countries like Iran and North Korea, will only stiffen resolves in places like Tehran or Moscow. Afterall, the sactions have been exhausted. What else would the west do other than to attack? And you can't attack a nucler power. Right but satellite imagery should easily spot it then. Even the US monitoring says it doesn’t have characteristics of natural quakes. |
