Education / How To Create A Perfect Study Plan For WAEC in 2020 by SunFlow(m): 1:59am On Aug 08, 2019
As you start planning for WAEC registration in November/December 2019 or 2020 WAEC examination, see how to create a study routine and plan for WAEC so as to record good success.

Creating a very good study routine for yourself for any WAEC exam whatsoever is easy, provided that you have the willingness to pass and win.

Now, listen, it does really matter what you have learnt from people so far as regards WAEC, some people have chosen to fail WAEC based on the negative judgments about WAEC that they have heard from elsewhere.

Yes, I clearly know that many people have passed WAEC through malpractices and other examination vices, this should not be your watchword.

It should not be your plan A, B, or C. What if you get caught? Can you withstand the shame, emotional trauma and the depression that follows?

[

Start preparing

Yes, procrastination is very bad, there’s no other time to start preparing for your SSCE exam than now.

He who fails to plan, plans to fail.

There’s no time to start preparation than starting now. You may think that your exam is still far, but I must tell you that it is around the corner.

Treat all the corners of your towel same as you don’t know the part that will clean your face tomorrow.

Work on your weakness

Another step on to creating a plan for waec is to discover your weak points and start working on them ASAP.

If you really wish to pass WAEC exam in one sitting for the last time, you have to take this part serious.

For example, you are very good in English but not good in math or you are very good in math but not good in chemistry as the case may be, it is wise you attach a greater portion of your attention to the subjects you find daunting first.

Enroll in WAEC Lessons

Get yourself enrolled in WAEC lessons, this does not only give you opportunities to meet experts who will simplify hard questions to your understanding, it also gives you the opportunity of meeting and sharing ideas with other WAEC candidates from other schools.

Pray and Praise in Advance

My final tips on how to create a study plan for WAEC is prayer. Whether you are a Muslim or a Christian, prayer is the key.

God can only honor your hard work. This means that you should not expect success from God when you have not put in effort yourself.

Politics / Panel Members Disagree As S-court Upholds Oyetola’s Election by SunFlow(m): 10:55am On Jul 06, 2019
ABUJA – The Supreme Court has upheld the election victory of Governor Adegboyega Oyetola of Osun State.

The apex court, in a split judgement of five to seven, dismissed the appeal the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and Senator Ademola Adeleke lodged to challenge the Court of Appeal verdict that affirmed the outcome of the September 27 supplementary election that led to Oyetola’s victory.

Oyetola-Adeleke Whereas in the lead verdict that was delivered by Justice Bode Rhode-Vivour, and adopted by four other Justices, the apex court held that Oyetola was validly elected.

However, two other members of the panel, Justices Kumai Akaahs and Paul Galinje, disagreed and maintained that Adeleke won the election and ought to have been declared winner by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC. Oyetola reopens shut Osun institutions(Opens in a new browser tab) In his dissenting judgement, Justice Akaahs accused INEC of partisanship, saying it failed to act as an unbiased umpire.

Justice Akaahs said he observed that INEC, through an officer without legal powers to act, ordered the supplementary election to ensure that Oyetola cancelled over 300 votes that Adeleke led with after the initial election that held on September 22

Celebrities / Go To The Mountain And Seek God’s Face For Mercy–sex-tape Scandal Pastor, Chris by SunFlow(m): 10:43am On Jul 06, 2019
A Lagos-based cleric, Apostle Chris Omatsola, has said that the decision of the founder of the Commonwealth of Zion Assembly, Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo, to step down over the rape allegation against him is the right thing to do.

He said he believed the allegations made by singer, Timi Dakolo’s wife, Busola, against Fatoyinbo were true, urging the cleric to seek God’s face for mercy and return to ministry.

Omatsola, who is the head of Zionwealth Church, Lekki, Lagos, was in the news last year over a viral s*x tape involving him and his lover, Princess Tamaratokoni Okpewho.

Okpewho had accused him of leaking the video to force her into a marital relationship with him despite alleged physical abuse – an allegation he denied, saying the tape was leaked to blackmail him.

Omatsola, while speaking to Saturday PUNCH, said Delta State-based televangelist and founder of Christ Mercyland Deliverance Ministry, Prophet Jeremiah Fufeyin, waded into the matter and mediated between him and Okpewho.

He said prior to Fufeyin’s intervention, he had consulted Fatoyinbo at his Abuja church during the crisis, adding that the latter counselled him for over two hours.

He said, “I went to see him (Fatoyinbo) and we discussed for over two hours. What he suggested to me then is what he is doing right now. Stepping down is the right thing to do.

“Honestly, I believe Busola’s story. She cannot come out to lie against him. What for? Is it for money or fame?

“Busola and her husband, Timi Dakolo, are already famous and have money. I believe she did it for conscience sake and to help other people.

“I advise that he (Fatoyinbo) should get himself together and push up again; it is not the end of life and (his) ministry. He should not sink into depression. He should get things right with God.

“He has taken the right step by stepping down so that it does not appear like he took the allegation lightly or that he mocks Christianity.

“He should go through a psycho-therapy process and heal up and he should give all the necessary legal attention to the case.”

He said Busola should realise that the world had heard her story, adding that her objective had been achieved.

He added, “I do not support rape or violence in any form and I believe her story. I pray that God will heal her heart and wound.”

Omatsola said although Fatoyinbo was his senior in ministry, he (Omatsola) had called to reciprocate what he did for him at his own trying time.

He said, “Prophet Fufeyin has already come to my church to re-establish me after I went to the mountain to seek God’s face for mercy.

“I have also settled with the girl. He even gave her N1m. So, I have settled with God, settled with the girl and settled legal action.

“I was on the mountain for over two months. That is the same message I am giving to Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo.”

Another lady, who spoke on condition of anonymity in an interview with Y!Naija, which was aired during the week, also accused Fatoyinbo of raping her.

The lady, who said she was an employee of COZA, alleged that the incident happened in 2017 at the pastor’s house.

Celebrities / Mr. 2kay - Why I Won’t Be Releasing Songs Anytime Soon by SunFlow(m): 10:35am On Jul 06, 2019
Though Afro-pop music artiste, Abinye David Jumbo, a.k.a Mr. 2Kay has been missing in action for a while, he has no plans to make his fans happy anytime soon. This is because when he finally decides to, he wants to be the cynosure of all eyes.

However, in a chat with Showtime, the ‘In the morning’ singer explained why it seems he has been away from the music scene and why he would not be dropping a new project anytime soon. “I’ve been working; I want the result of my work to make the noise for me. People have been saying I’ve not been working, but it’s not about what they say.

I see what they say; asking me to drop songs, but it’s really not about dropping songs. I don’t want to make the same mistakes I made in the past. I left my former record label, Grafton Records, I’m no longer with them; I’m all by myself trying to get a focus. I’m trying to rebrand myself, from how I dress, how I look, how I relate with people. So basically I don’t care what people say. Like I said, I’m working in silence but the result would be loud. I want to wow my fans with my success. I can assure them that I’m coming out with something mad.

However, I’m not going to release any song till Big Brother Naija is over because if I do now believe me Big Brother Naija would overshadow it. Everybody’s attention is on Big Brother Naija right now, so there is no way I’m going to release a song now”, he said. He added that now that he has parted ways with his former record label, Grafton Records, he is on a mission to rebrand himself and music.

“You have to be innovative; you can’t be doing the same thing all the time. Change is one constant thing. While I was with Grafton Records, there were a lot of mistakes I made that I don’t want to repeat because I’ve learnt from them. Starting all over doesn’t mean I’m staring afresh but starting with experience. The good thing is that my name is already out there.

Take it or leave it, I’m already known. I want my songs to be played in clubs, I’ve done mid-tempo songs because that’s what is popular now, so that’s it for me.” Speaking on the robbery/physical assault saga between himself and Burna Boy, he said; “I and Burna are brothers; we’re from the same place. We’re trying to settle the whole stuff underground. The case is still in court though but we’re trying to settle it underground”, he said.

Education / How To Activate Your Full Potential As A Student by SunFlow(m): 6:46am On Jul 02, 2019
It is good to dream big, it is good to aspire big. Now as a student, to know how to activate your full potential as a student. you have some dormant talents in you that need to be unleashed.

For you to know how to activate your full potentials as a student, you need to

Acknowledge the fact that you have potentials.

If you do not believe the true fact that every man born of a woman has some hidden potentials in, you may never activate that talents God has deposited in you.

Work towards achieving minor goals and objectives

When you dream, you have to believe in your dream. And when you’ve believed in your dream, you have to work on achieving that dream.

Successful people don’t jus sit and wish, they take that bold step and work towards achieving that dream. They work towards achieving that goal and objectives.

In other words, for you to know how to activate your full potentials as a student, you have to start from completing small goals and objectives first.

The journey of a thousand miles begins with one step, therefore, start from solving minor problems, fixing minor issues and solving general problems. This way, you get to start learning how to activate your full potentials as a student.

Go for your dreams

Work towards your dreams, learn how to do it extraordinarily, practice more often even if you make mistakes, with this, you have started to grasp how to fulfill your talent to the world.

HOW TO ACTIVATE YOUR FULL POTENTIAL AS A STUDENT

Acknowledge your maker

You have to believe in something, and this belief comes when you acknowledge that there’s someone who is up in heaven, giving you strength and health daily to persevere.

If you don’t believe in your maker, how then do you want to make it?

Be a good learner and a good listener

Great men are always good listeners; they learn everyday even from most of the unlikely sources around.

They are always willing to try out new things. This broadens their perspective help them solve pressing needs.

Always take responsibility

If you don’t take responsibility about what happens in your life, you cannot activate fully the potential in you. Talent is good but hardwork supersedes talent when necessary. Always own up to responsibilities and see yourself solving pressing problems.

Follow experts in your field

Follow the leaders and experts in your field; here you learn one or two from them. This does not mean that you should copy them; rather it means that you should study them. Do not make same mistakes that they made. It could cost you more.

Read wide and wild

Leaders are good readers. Most times, the books you read shapes the way of your thinking. Always read the good books and practice to a lesser extent what you have learnt.

Always ask questions

No man is an island, no man is an epitome of knowledge. What do I mean; I mean that you cannot know it all. Always be ready to seek answer to questions that are not clear to you.

Do not be afraid to ask questions anytime, anywhere or any day.

Be open to changes

For you to grow, you need to acknowledge changes and make the right adjustment in time. Change is one of the constant things in life. When you are misinformed, you are deformed. When you pay dead ear to changes, you don’t grow.

Think big

Do not settle for less, rather, you should aspire more, aim higher, break grounds and see yourself at the top of everything.

Finally on how to activate the full potential in you as a student, always strive to be at the right place in the right time.

Sports / Chukwu-ndukwe Blasts Eagles by SunFlow(m): 6:37am On Jul 02, 2019
Former Super Eagles forward Raphael Chukwu-Ndukwe has lampooned Super Eagles result against Madagascar and described the defeat as the worst for the Super Eagles at the AFCON

Chukwu-Ndukwe questioned the lack of creativity in the team but was however quick to also highlight the positives in the defeat.

He said the result will ensure the team sit up and take cognizance of how real another defeat can come if they don’t step up their performance. “We’re not creating chances and this is the worst result of Nigeria as far as the AFCON is concerned. I think it is also good as this kind of thing happened because it will make the team to sit up. Now the coach will be worried that the team is not yet there. If we can lose to Madagascar, then we can lose to any team in this competition. So we need to buckle up.”

NYSC / Don’t Throw Away Your Womanhood For Gratification – NYSC DG To Female Corpers by SunFlow(m): 11:41pm On Jun 30, 2019

The Director General of National Youth Service Corp (NYSC), Brig.General Ibrahim Shuaibu, has advised female corps members to honour themselves by not throwing away their dignity and womanhood for common gratifications. Shuaibu gave the advice at the weekend while addressing the corps members at the NYSC Permanent Orientation camp at Wannune in Tarka Local Government Area of Benue State to mark his ongoing inspection tour of NYSC camps nationwide.

He also admonished the fresh graduates at the camp to shun all forms of indiscipline and corruption, warning them against being susceptible to any form of inducement in the course of discharging their national assignments. ”One who gives bribe and he that receives a bribe are both guilty of corruption,” he said.

The Director General further called on the 2019 Batch B stream 1 corps members deployed to Benue state to be of good conduct during and after their service year. Highlight of the NYSC’s boss visit was an interactive section with the state Coordinator, Shicha Simon Joshua and camp officials as he he encouraged them to regard corps members as their own children by treating them kindly. Shuaibu stressed that majority of the corps members are from honourable homes and therefore deserves some measures of respect and dignity. The NYSC boss had earlier inspected some facilities on camp such as the toilets, kitchen and hostels.

Politics / FG Must Pay Whistle-blowers - Vanguard by SunFlow(m): 7:42am On Jun 28, 2019
IN December 2016, former Minister of Finance, Mrs. Kemi Adeosun, announced that the Federal Government had established a whistleblower policy to enlist citizens’ support in exposing corruption and help government in recovering looted funds. According to her:

“Anyone who has authentic information about violation, misconduct or improper activity which can impact negatively on the Nigerian people and government” should report it.

Burnishing the positive impact of the policy barely two months later, the former Minister of Information, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, claimed that it had helped in the recovery of $180 million, including the $9.8 million recovered from a former GMD of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, Mr. Andrew Yakubu.
Many Nigerians are wondering why very little is being heard about the whistleblower policy, two and half years on. The answer may not be far-fetched: the Federal Government is defaulting in its promise to pay whistle-blowers.

The policy had promised to pay within 30 days of the receipt of a recovered fund a “flat and definite reward of two and half per cent of the recovered sum” which must be N5bn and above. The money would be paid into an account provided by the whistle-blower.

The most celebrated case of the whistleblower default by the Federal Government is now pending at the Federal High Court, Abuja instituted by a lawyer, Aliyu Alemu, on behalf of his client whose name is withheld for security reasons. The client discovered a secret account with a balance of $223m (N82bn) in a commercial bank in violation of the Treasury Single Account policy. Fourteen signatories were traced to the account.

Alemu’s client is entitled to N1.9bn commission for exposing this scam. But after the former Attorney General of the Federation, AGF, Abubakar Malami, set up an investigative panel and members of the bank’s board invited for questioning, the whistle-blower was given a payment bond to sign, which was witnessed by Ladidi Mohammed, Head of Asset Recovery and Management Unit of the Office of the AGF.

Thereafter, the Office of the AGF stopped responding to the whistle-blower’s efforts to get his money. Even the President’s office failed to act on letters sent to it to get officials to comply with the demands of their own whistle-blower policy. This is disheartening and condemnable. A government’s words should be its bond.

Having taken the benefit of this whistleblowing, the Federal Government is bound by law and morality to pay up. Why else should anyone bother to expose graft? With this attitude why should Nigeria be taken seriously by prospective international partners? We call on the courts to give satisfactory justice to Alemu’s whistle-blower client.

Politics / Bayelsa Has Taken Shape Under Dickson Administration — Jonathan by SunFlow(m): 7:30am On Jun 28, 2019
YENAGOA—FORMER President Goodluck Jonathan, has hailed the developmental strides of Bayelsa State governor, Mr Seriake Dickson, saying the state has taken shape under his administration.

Jonathan during the inauguration of the state Peoples’ Democratic Party Elders Advisory Council in Government House, Yenagoa, praised Dickson for a building a befitting edifice as office complex and official residence for the Governor and Deputy.

In a statement by the Special Adviser on Media Relations to the governor, Mr. Fidelis Soriwei, yesterday, he recalled that former governors of the state including himself, used to reside in bungalows while in office, noting that the edifice has also provided office space for other appointees and staff.

He said: “Let me use this opportunity to appreciate the governor for this office. I am saying this because this is the first time am entering the office and luckily all of us here are part of this story from 1996 and then of course as politicians when we took over May 1999.

“I knew that we started by using a bungalow, the party secretariat as the Government House office and so on, the governor started from living in a bungalow, the deputy also in a bungalow, that was how we started and now the state has taken shape.” In his remark, Governor Dickson said the PDP was poised to retain its control of the state as the gubernatorial election scheduled for November 16, 2019, draws closer.

He called on all gubernatorial aspirants under the platform of the PDP to avoid attacking one another but to focus attention on the subversive activities of the opposition in the state.”
