On Thursday, an Israeli tank crossed the border near the southern village of Abbasiyyeh, AFP reported.

"The Merkava tank entered a zone claimed by Lebanon," the Lebanese Army said with a security official noting that the tank advanced four meters before returning.

Tel Aviv has launched several wars on Lebanon, killing around 1,200 Lebanese -- mostly civilians -- in its most recent offensive in 2006.

The deadliest Israeli incursion into Lebanon took place in August, when an Israeli patrol unit moved into a village, prompting an exchange of fire with the Lebanese military. The standoff killed three Lebanese soldiers, a Lebanese journalist and a senior Israeli officer.

Israeli fighter planes and spy aircraft engage in near-daily violations of Lebanon's airspace.

The incursions violate the United Nations Security Council Resolution 1701, which ended the 2006 war and called on the Israeli regime to respect Lebanon's sovereignty and territorial integrity.

Beirut has complained to the world body about Tel Aviv's disregard for the resolution.

The Thursday violation took place in the presence of the UN Interim Force in Lebanon, or the UNIFIL, which is mandated to patrol southern Lebanon and to ensure that Israel observes Lebanon's sovereignty.

Yeah - this has been noted.

And your right - he may say something like ' I have a son' and Obama mistakes him for saying 'I have a bomb'

Luckily for Nigeria he's never ever going to be president.

Politics › Re: Kaduna Voted On Religious Sentiment, Says Vp-sambo by Sunofgod(m): 7:17pm On Apr 13, 2011
By Chimezie Enyiocha

Vice President Namadi Sambo has attributed the poor performance recorded by the People’s Democratic Party in Kaduna State during last Saturday’s National Assembly elections to a religious conspiracy by some northerners against the presidential ambitions of Goodluck Jonathan. The vice president who spoke through his senior special assistant on media, Umar Sani, said that the defeat was not targeted at him but at the PDP. He said that those who voted against the PDP in the state were mostly Muslims who saw the coming presidential election as a religious contest between Goodluck Jonathan, a Christian, and Muhammadu Buhari who is a Muslim.

According to him, “Some people have been going around the North warning that any Muslim that votes for PDP or any other party outside CPC (Congress for Progressive Change) is not a genuine Muslim and will be punished for that.

“They have already made up their minds to vote for CPC because of Buhari without minding the calibre of candidates they voted on Saturday. Many of those who were elected are not even known by the electorate and they did not campaign. But because of the presidential agenda which they are so much interested in, they voted for CPC. But I can assure you that Sambo will deliver his ward to PDP and the entire Kaduna state come Saturday.”

Mr. Sani told NEXT that many of the places lost by the PDP had always voted for Mr. Buhari since 1999, adding that the party would have captured all the seats if the presidential election had come first.

“In 2007, when the presidential election was conducted first, the PDP was able to capture Kaduna Central which had always been controlled by the ANPP (All Nigeria People’s Party). This is because the people are much interested in where the president comes from,” he declared.

The special assistant said that Mr. Sambo won his polling unit when he contested the governorship election in 2007 and had always maintained a cordial relationship with his people. Mr. Sani said that President Jonathan would emerge victorious in Saturday’s election despite all the scheming by certain people in the North to scuttle his chances.

This is an open secret to all Niger deltans and we kept screaming it during the crisis period, but other Nigerians hardly believed it.
The true bunkerers are ex-generals and "businessmen" from the core-North. It is well known that the militants killed an ex-presidents son in the creeks.

The by force Northern consensus candidate stuff is all about access to oil theft.
They know and the ND knows it. Northern consensus candidate = WAR.
A parasite that also eats itself?

Politics › Breaking Wikileaks Cables - Leaders, Military Behind Nigeria Oil Theft: by Sunofgod(op): 10:19pm On Apr 11, 2011
http://gulftoday.ae/portal/a9c24737-642d-412e-99e3-a3aedc2aeb7f.aspx

LAGOS: Politicians and military leaders — not militants — are responsible for the majority of oil thefts in Nigeria’s crude-rich southern delta, according to a US diplomatic cable quoting a Nigerian official and released by WikiLeaks.

A member of a government panel on troubles in nation’s Niger Delta implicated Shehu Musa Yar’Adua, a general whose brother became president, and former Vice President Atiku Abubakar as being the biggest forces behind the thefts, the cable claims.

Those thefts also fuel arms sales to the restive region while causing environmental damage and cutting production in a nation crucial to US oil supplies.

“It is in the interests of these people to make it appear that the Niger Delta problem is intractable,” the January 2009 cable quotes panel member Tony Uranta as saying.

“As a result, they prop up the militants, including some who have an ideological basis for their actions.” Abubakar, who ran unsuccessfully this year as a presidential candidate in a ruling-party primary, denied the allegations on Monday.

“Atiku said this is a recycled old tale told again and again by business rivals unable to match the business success,” a statement issued read.

“Atiku is unaware of any links that the late Yar’Adua had with bunkering and he believed absolutely that this is false accusation.” Yar’Adua, who served as second-in-command of the country’s military government in the late 1970s, died in prison in 1997 after being arrested for criticising military dictator Sani Abacha.

His brother, the President Umaru Yar’Adua, died in May 2010.

The diplomatic cable quotes Uranta as blaming “no more than 15 per cent” of oil thefts on militants operating in the delta, a tropical maze of creeks and waterways about the size of South Carolina.

Instead, politicians, retired admirals and generals and others in the country’s elite profit from the thefts.
Typically, thieves solder or cut into oil pipelines running through the mangrove swamps of the delta.
Some refine the crude into kerosene or diesel in crude refineries, while other oil sails out to foreign ports for sale.

“Uranta claimed that the late Shehu Musa Yar’Adua, the president’s brother, had been the ‘biggest’ bunkerer,” the cable reads, using the local term for oil thieves.

She talks about intelligence she had seen and threats she knew that had been made against her life.

She also spoke about the information she requested 'Musharaf' release upon her death.

There are a few african leaders that have had white wives, but i've noticed not even a local government chairmen in nigeria has ever had a white wife. Not even a chief of village police.

do you think Nigerians can rally around a man with a white wife? I know most would think it wouldn't 'matter' but i think nigerians would have a problem, or a hard time taking the person seriously, even village marriages that include white wives are taken as seriously as ones with a wife of your own tribe if not race.
A white woman wouldn't stand by her 'black' husband like an african woman.
