Maybe then but not now, Today's Nigeria would be beyond him. |
How the heck did this topic made it to the front page? (OluwaKANYE) Answer - Possibly because of grammar like your own being used in public! Its a concern to many Nigerians who are considering who's best to lead the country in 2011. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- {There seems to be an avalanche of grossly uneducated minds on Nairaland and it is really a pity. } |
Preferably month by month or even week by week data on electricity transmission and consumption covering the lasts 12-24 months. (Up to and including yesterday) If you can break it down state by state, or ideally town by town. In excel format!, (Vista - ) |
If we are now statistically analysing data and publically making inferences from data on electricity provision within Nigeria, can somebody quickly forward me the link to the data being analysed. Let me draw my own conclusions after analysing the data myself - I choose not to rely on the hypothesis some are trying to make without granting access to the data they have apparently studied. And I would prefer quantitative rather than qualitative data! I want the raw data! I'm waiting - ![]() |
"A real leader faces the music, even when he doesn't like the tune." |
"Actions speak louder than Words?" This is a valid point. However we can see from previous posts that issues such as the apparent improvement in the supply of electricity are highly disputable. Also, who really should take the credit for such improvements? Are these improvements down to Jonathan or one of his predecessors? Jonathan has limited time to make his mark. So there is little or no time to radically change Nigeria for the better. And we would all agree that to have electricity for 24hrs a day in Nigeria would be a radical change. At least from the interview he gave we all can guage and form opinions from what we witnessed and the words he spoke. If Jonathan can master the art of speech, he stands more of a chance in 2011 of convincing Nigerians and the world he is the best person to lead the country! |
Acidosis, TO: SON OF GOD & BEAF Are u 'guyz' comparing me with a PhD. holder? The fact is that, our a.g president lacks oral composition. He reacted like someone suffering from minor halitosis. (Halitosis: bad breath) --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Would you use such words in an interview? You suffer from jargonitus - the inability to speak without using jargon; You also appear to have mild schizophrenia - a mental disorder characterized by abnormalities in the perception or expression of reality Both are incurable - so maybe you should Shut Up rather than talk crap constantly. It would also be wise if you get the spelling of my 'alias' correct. Before you end up attracting a curse to yourself! |
STOPOVER, I noticed you had the nerve to comment on my own grammar even though you are clearly an illiterate. Here's a couple of recent post in Nairaland from you: A man choose a woman based on the way she makes him feel. The number of years dating has nothing to do with it. A man can marry a woman after 3weeks of dating in my own case it was just 9months my level changed to wify! Honestly speaking, marriage is not by force even if u got pregent and have a child for him. On the other hand, he feels your not the one he would like to spend the rest of his life with or didnt see u as the woman that will make his life better. So pls check urself, be honest with urself and move on to find your happiness instead of waitng for him to tell u face to face that hes not gonna marry u. Move on babe and evisage for the future! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The problem of finding fault is easy, but that of doing better is difficult! I sorry for the poster. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I will try and remain polite but your spelling and grammar leaves a lot to be desired. To be more specific and accurate your English is woeful! And for that reason I will not take you seriously. You are not qualified to advise me on the English language - Trust me! |
Acidosis, I pray you never go on CNN representing Nigeria. Sort out your own grammar. (or just type pidgin - anything we can understand) |
Mugabe used to be able to speak very well. Not heard much from him recently but he must be in his 90's by now. As for qualifications - Jonathan comes nowhere near Mugabe. He has numerous qualifications from reputable institutions around the world. Jonathan is not on his level - Yet! |
naijaking1, But the problem is the Juristiction (Nigeria) and add then the part of Nigeria (North). If they are put on trial in a Sharia court they would probably be awarded damages rather than face execution! |
He spoke of the options open to him in all area's of politics. I like it when he said that power rotation is only an 'unwritten law' within 1 party (PDP) and is not in the constitution of Nigeria. He also mentioned that the law does not prevent him from running in 2011. He could not give a straight answer (He's a Politician) - But I think I know what he meant - ![]() He knows what he needs to overhaul in order to smooth the path for him (so called electoral reforms) Read between the lines - ![]() |
Where else would the Pope get a fair trial? |
He's showed he's genuine - And not a fake He has also as good as admitted he intends to run in 2011. When asked about his intentions he said 'for now, I dont want to think about it' (How about after the electoral reforms? - ) |
One of the good points about the interview; When he was asked whether he felt 'Mr Iwu' (INEC) was competent, he nearly fell out of his seat with laughter! Then tried dodging the question! I spontaneously laughed - He was expressing his true feelings! |
The Hague is the most appropriate place for the trial. Afterall these are crimes against humanity. |
There is no denying that he knows what has been going on for a long time! Therefore he has a case of conspiracy he needs to answer. Why did he allow himself to become complicit in the cover up of the crimes commited by those Priests and Bishops? It seems he has commited a criminal offence by not bringing the matter to the attention of the authorities. He has the option of plea bargaining or pleading guilty to recieve a smaller sentence. (Maybe 3-5 years) But that's not like 'Mandela Time' - So he shouldn't fear. Alternatively he can claim to have comitted the conspiracy in a juristiction where he is immune from prosecution. Like Nigeria! - BUT NOT THE NORTH OHH - THEY'LL CHOP HIM UP INTO LITTLE PIECES!!! (I cant believe this thread is this long!) |
There is a case of conspiracy the Pope may need to answer. Was he complicit in the conspiracy to cover up the crimes commited by those employed by the organisation he leads? If so, then he has commited a criminal offence. Its an open and shut case! He has the option of plea bargaining or pleading guilty to a similar but lesser offence. Alternatively he can claim to have comitted the conspiracy in a juristiction where is is immune from prosecution. But his enemies are also wicked for pulling such a move on him! And what goes around comes around. I watch on with interest! Jonathan For Pope - 2011? |
There are also 'Great Political Communicators So we have to careful not to become mesmerized! |
Ojukwu was something else when it came to communicating. But because of our inherent 'tribal differences' not all people will accept that fact. But even today he communicates in an exceptional way. |
Attempts are being made to divert from the topic. If somebody feel his dress sense is an issue why not open another thread - rather than contaminate this one. |
To all small minded women - Is it only about dress sense you can talk about? If so - Exit immediately! Cant you see intellects are putting effort into discussing the issue - and you keeping spoiling it with rubbish! |
Seems some people are desperate to dodge the facts of the matter. - Jonathan appears to have a weak command of English. - So therefore he's likely to have poor reading skills. - If he has deficiencies in reading and writing, is he the best person to be representing Nigeria? - For example, if he's asked to sign a Nuclear treaty, would he understand the document? - Therefore we must ask - Does Jonathan's deficiencies pose any risk to Nigerians? - What if for example Jonathan is taken advantage of by a smarter, sharper individual (e.g Obama?) - Its me and you that would suffer - Not Jonathan. - People who have strong reading and writing skills also tend to be good speakers. The have larger vocabularies! |
Oga ![]() |
Read the question - Your there firing off answers |
You are completely showing sign of illiteracy - ![]() And i'm the illiterate! No problem - Charlatan. |
Its not right to criticize accents though! Instead look at his composure, content, and delivery! His composure was not great. His delivery was not great. The content was ok - But that was dictated by Amanpour. |
I thought as much - You dont know what your talking about! Why not also add Thailand, Canada and Russia. Charlatan, |
Can you list a few names of these countries that are apparently similar in nature to Nigeria? Thanks, |
People need to focus more on the grammar he used - not his accent. Anybody who feels his accent is not right is a small minded TRIBALIST. Period, I will repeat that Nigeria past and present has produced some great speakers FROM ALL tribes. |
