Exactly, the same knee problem (isnt that a sign of concern) This is prolly the 6th re-occurence and even the 3rd time this season alone and we are still in Sept . . . . . . . .most of Saha's injuries were with his knee. Thats what he started with.

I mean if the guy needs surgery, they should let him have it done now. If something like that keeps reoccuring, doesnt that mean surgery or how is it going to be cured? This manual treatment hasn't worked.

On his day, Hargo is one of the best at what he does . . . . I'm always happy everytime i see him in the team. How long are we going to wait for??
give him time.

when the going got tough last season, he delivered in the crucial games.

vidic got injured, brown moved to the centre and who did we rely on to play as a right back? owen hargreaves.

he played in three different positions last season. right back, right wing, holding midfielder.

hargreaves gives his best when others struggle. i will rather have him playing for us than against us.

if a team like hull can do it, beware of the big guns.

arsenal don't have the personnel to protect their goal.

who plays with no dmf and 2 good centre backs? which takes me back to the question.

when was the last time arsenal lost from a winning position at home? betfair was 700/1(hull win) after arsenal got the first goal.

hull knew there was something to be earned yesterday and they exploited it.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Arsenal Fan Thread: For Gunners Only (Old) by superstan(m): 6:36pm On Sep 28, 2008
oh ma gawd.

a defensive midfielder can make tackles anywhere. makelele is everywhere in front of the back four making crunchy tackles.

when a manager loses diarra, flamini and gilberto silva then one has to question his sanity.

hull asked questions yesterday. how many teams come to the emirates to create so many problems for arsenal after equalising?

be honest. many teams quickly go to 9-1-1 formation to win a solitary point.

when was the last time arsenal lost at home from a winning position? cheesy

it seems u know little or nothing about the team you support. fans on radio five are furious how it happened.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Arsenal Fan Thread: For Gunners Only (Old) by superstan(m): 6:20pm On Sep 28, 2008
@ debosky,

with a good man marker, geovanni wouldn't have scored his goal.

he kept possession for at least 7 seconds with a vast amount of space ahead of him before striking a thunderous shot.

water carriers are always unsung in games. fans always remember the goal scorers and entertainers. madrid made the same mistake with claude

makelele and they paid dearly for it. flamini and diarra are no good?? the final table in may will tell us the true story.

i have highlighted the lack of a defensive midfielder and the weakness of gallas and toure as the major problems at arsenal.

many teams coming to the emirates don't ask questions enough to expose gallas/toure partnership but hull did.

how many goals have arsenal now conceded through set pieces? ask yourself.

They went to sleep in that they didn't do enough to keep Hull back. Nearly all the players were making silly mistakes.  .  .that's sleeping, which shouldn't happen at home of all places. And when Wenger saw things coming out all wrong he didn't make wise, necessary changes.  .  .maybe because he lacked a powerful range of sub-choices or he too went to sleep.

You're making it sound like Arsenal is a very poor side, which they're not.

Anyway, facts are facts. They did lose to a newly-promoted team at home grin
defensively, arsenal are poor. if they don't make adjustments, u will see more lapses at the back.

attacking wise, they were brilliant. sharp passes from the defence to the attack. it takes arsenal 2-3 secs to transform defence into attack.

one can say they were unlucky in front of goal but if they didn't concede silly goals, their solitary goal was enough to win them their 3 points.

they played better yesterday than they did at bolton. forget the goals, keep tabs with the number of chances created.

15 corner kicks with a goal to show for it? outrageous.

barca kept at it yesterday.

a wonderful performance from them.

@ cristalz,

arsenal did not go to sleep yesterday. yesterday's performance was easily their best this season.

they played with the same tempo and created a lot in the final third. the ball just refused to sail in the net.

their defence have always been a suspect. unfortunately, most teams going to the emirates don't do enough to put their defence to a litmus test.

hull asked questions last night and they earned the 3 points. if u don't buy a raffle ticket, u cannot win a lottery.

debosky is just mad at nothing. his anger, frustration and depression cannot change the results.

arsenal got beaten by a newly promoted team at home. shocking!!! shocked shocked shocked shocked

So according to you, any team that does what Hull does will win at the Emirates right?

Just listen to yourself for a minute. Hull has suddenly invented a maverick and unheard of method of playing Arsenal, according to you?

There really is no point continuing this, you're in love with the sound of your own voice and you've concluded. I'll let the football do the talking. Maybe when Hull gets beaten at home by us, you'll realise the folly of your ways.
any team with good work ethics and attacking football will hurt arsenal.

last season(maybe not) as arsenal had flamini, diarra who are water carriers.

this season, denilson and fabregas in the midfield?? try and play iniesta and fabregas in the midfield for a start.

none of them is willing to hold allowing the other to roam. it has exposed gallas and toure so much to dangerous incursions.

of course, arsenal can go to hull and win 7-0. there are still so many other factors that would guarantee a victory against arsenal.

i am just airing this opinion that putting 10 men behind the ball against arsenal at the emirates rarely works.

it's better one go there with a winning mentality and have a go. hull stuck to that mentality and got their results.

i see no reason why wigan, man city or liverpool cannot do the same.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Arsenal Fan Thread: For Gunners Only (Old) by superstan(m): 5:44pm On Sep 28, 2008
debosky:
Your logic is flawed - if it was so Stan, then Hull conceding should have been the end of the game. One thing you fail to realise is that this is very much a 'one off' - there is little or no parallel to be drawn with any other game/result apart from the fact that we conceded from a corner.

If your principle was right, then Hull conceded, and should've driven for an equaliser and then conceded further, but that did not happen - a rarity of the highest order. So once again, trying to project that 'so and so will happen' as a result of this game is an exercise in futility.

Go and watch teams that have 'attacked from the word go' ala Bolton - the lightening quick counter attack is what killed them off last week, so once again - you are tediously trying to draw a painting from a drop of paint. This was a one off aberration - failure to realise that will mean the decimation of teams who try to emulate Hull.

Like Wenger said, a lack of real motivation and drive from Arsenal caused the defeat - if they were as driven as they showed against Bolton, Hull would be 2 or 3 down before they knew what hit them. The failure to capitalise is what gave Hull a chance, and anyone thinking that will happen many times this season is not only mistaken, but is in an inebriated state of confusion.
how is this logic flawed.

hull played 4-3-1-2 throughout the game. they never changed formation.

whether they conceded or not, they stuck to the original scripts. they never sat back and they maintained the same tempo throughout.

other teams start with 4-5-1 at the emirates and once they concede, they change formations to 3-4-3 or 3-3-4.

players get confused about their new roles thus becoming clueless and disjointed.

the best way to play arsenal is to have a go at them from the word go. what hull played last night was no fluke.

they kept going.

Stan one could say the same about any team, not just Arsenal grin
says who?

man utd have a beast of a defence in brown, evra, rio and vidic.

chelsea have john obi mikel, terry and carvalho.

lliverpool have alonso, masscherano, carragher, skrtel

tell me the anchor men at arsenal? gallas + toure are dunces. denilson is no premiership quality and cesc is never a defensive midfielder.

debosky:
Let them do the same, how many strikers did Blackburn play? Didn't they play 2? Didn't they get beaten  huh

I love your wonderful analysis of late - play two strikers and you will beat Arsenal, that ranks high up there with your previous work of genius - Arsenal losing at home means they will come 4th. Heck you deserve a Nobel prize for elucidating these previously obscure discoveries.

Lets leave the talk for now - Porto will be the first to bare the brunt come Tuesday.
don't mix up oil and water.

play 3 strikers against an arsenal team with no defensive midfielder and centre backs with little or no confidence and u have a chance.

many of the bottom side teams go to the emirates to line up 10 players behind the ball and they get beaten.

when u give arsenal so much possession, there is always the risk they would win freekicks, penalties and a deflected shot.

as soon as they score, their opponents have to change their plan to at least get a draw which exposes their defence and they ship more goals in.

so why not attack them from the word go and stick to the plans throughout the 90.

i am just happy the team is now showing what they can do to opponents.

the bench is strong, everyone is happy and players are very fresh.

what can we say about evra? bought for 4.5 million(his acquisition was a steal). he is the best left back in the world.
