I think its worth it self to consider that Elpaso even with hotel charge it wont be up to that

I am going to Houston sha, cuz I have family there. a friend that gave birth in Methodist Hospital Texas said she spent about 6k dolls for everything, including epidural, baby, everything! it's worth checking out for those going to Houston

Someone also talked about west houston medical centre. Call and find out their charges.

@bolanle ife,I just concluded wit jaymee today and had our contract signed,I was supposed to have signed with another midwife yesterday but I didn't like the atmosphere of her office. So I called jaymee. She charged 3,500 but I negotiated to 3k for prenatal,delivery and postpartum. Thanks for checking.

Just get the hospital address and google for hotels around there,u'l definitely see varieties.

Congrats @ mouse pad...that's y they get everyone lying to them cos they hate the truth...if u didn't say u were preg na wahala,u tell dem again na wahala. Am happy for u my sister... The best place to speak the truth is @the embassy but once u didn't tell dem u r pregnant there,don't say anything abt it @ POE.

tobiojo2002: I'm still on negotiation with the hosp, I got a bill of abt 15k, tho there was an overbilling forr the baby, suuggest u make further enquiries on a cheaper hosp, Queens hosp is wherew I gave birth and frankly speaking its quite expensive.I'll update on the final payment. I'm still waiting for baby's birth certificate , so no hurry for me.

Pls have u made enquiries on how to get a nigerian passport for the baby? I'l be having my baby in few months and I need to knw the processes and cost.

Please who has an idea of the total cost of getting a 9ja passport in the u.s,the processes and duration? Plus my husband is in 9ja,will I need any document from him? If yes,what and what?

Was able to get the list and contacts of all the midwives in houston, called all of dem and I picked out 3 to choose from because of their cost,service and proximity...the 3 is btw 3,500 to 4,000. Would pray abt dem and decide by next week. On what platform did u chat wit jaymee? Her # is still entering voicemail

Yes,but she's not spontenous as she hasn't picked her calls since morning....will keep trying,called another one(kellie moller) and her price is 4800. So west houston birth center is still the best offer @4500 for now


@ Dentale home births are cheaper.

They are not ooo, abt same price ranges according to comparism wit the ones I av called...the 4800 is if I pay cash and at once otherwise her price is 5200

If your spouse had a full validity visa and you didn't or you had a visa that was not full validity, you can apply alongside your spouse for a renewal since your spouse's visa will "cover" for you(Ideally you ought to have made a new application since you did not meet the conditions of a renewal).However, you both cannot use drop box unless you both had a full validity visa. This means that your spouse who could have used drop box if he/she was renewing alone will have to attend an interview with you (it is still a renewal but you will be interviewed whereas with drop box, you don't go through an interview)

bolanleife: @ SUrety you should check the association of Texas midwives website. WesthoustonbirthCentre would charge you around 5grand.
Is this your first baby?
I am aware of a woman who would accept less than 2grand @28 months but I am not sure abt her experience. There are abt 6 birth centers in Hosuton and they charge between 3K5 - 6K (the very popular 1ce). You just need to be friendly with google.Home birth is also an option. All the very best.

Pls kindly give me the info of d woman, cos am 27wks now...I spoke to abt 3 birth centres today and only 1 (west houston) agreed 4,500 if am paying cash...others are 5000 and 5,500 respectively. I simply assumed that the home birth will be more expensive that's y I didn't pit it to consideration. I need ur quick response on the info of the woman..

Just to add to Babababy's post, not only do you require a 2 year visa to use the drop box option, also if you are renewing with a spouse that has a 2 year visa, both of you will be interviewed. So no drop box either. Drop box will be valid if you both had a full validity visa within 12 months or less from the stated expiry date. I know this because hubby and I had our visas renewed a month ago in Lagos and the whole process was explained in detail to us.

Thank u so much, called west houston birth centre is 5000dols for prenatal,delivery and post...I asked for a discount if I was to pay cash,she called me back today that I can get 500dols discount...and I can use my ultrasound and. Other results with me...

Thank u all for responding to this issue,I have made up my mind to turn down the chip program and pay for the bills. Will be able to raise some extra cash since I'l be due in dec... Will probably use a birth centre as that's cheaper....
Will appreciate if anyone can recommend a low-cost birth center to me here in houston or any other advise is welcomed
I also googled the eligibillty for u.s renewal(drop box) and it didn't state any visa length/validity, only that it must be the same category of previous visa amongst other things which I am qualified. At least that's a relief to me.

Hello all, dis trend has been so educative,I have learnt a lot, my own situation is dat I applied for the visa in july and the consular issued me a 3months visa,she asked if I was pregnant and I said no of which I lied,because I didn't get all d enlightenment I have now...I had so much fears as to what to expect at POE but God made it all simple,I was given 6months by CBP...my cousin applied for the 'wic' benefit for me,which started immediately I got in aug. And I already applied for chips which am expecting their response...am in houston but all the info I got scares me a lot about renewal of the visa wen next I want to apply...
Now can anyone tell me if it'l come on their system at the embassy that I had a baby here in america automatically or will they only find out if I fill it in the application form that am travelling wit my american citizen baby? Secondly is dat since my cousin told me abt the chip benefit for unborn child,the only funds I have wit me is abt 2500, is there any other alternative apart from hosp birthing,so dat I can turn down the chip? And has anyone who lied abt being pregnant ever been lucky to have her visa renewed? I hope dis is attended to as soon as possible... Thanks
