uche13:Hi. If you've tried cutting this "mole" once before, what you now have may simply be a scar. Or, perhaps it's a Wart. Warts can be treated with chemical agents, so see a doctor to confirm. A PCV of 35% isn't too low of a red blood cell count. It may have dropped gradually rather than suddenly, as you suggested, maybe from not eating a balanced diet. You could suppliment your meals with a standard Blood Tonic like Astyfer |
sandee575:Hi. I like your frankness. An Operation to remove the diseased portion of the Stomach is usually a last resort remedy for severely painful, intractable Ulcers. Surgery would unlikely be recommended otherwise. Maybe you should consider curtailing your drinking and smoking habits - are known Ulcer-aggravating factors. You mentioned throwing away caution to what you eat, too. Consider also, getting a full Ulcer prescription once more from your physician. Have you been placed on tablet Omiprazole for a full 1 month? |
ifyegede:Visiting a Dentist is your best bet to find a solution. Hopefully, there'll be a cure. Some teeth stains are practically permanent, orthers may not be so. As such, good-luck with what the Dentist diagnosis! |
krazynaija:Here's a prescription that should help: Capsule TETRACYCLINE 500mg every 6 hours for 2 weeks. |
nonnyp:The Ulcer condition may well explain the bad breath in the sense that Indigestion and Reflux is common in Ulcer - the emptying of Stomach and Intestinal contents becomes ineffective or delayed and as such, there could be back-flow of stale odour through the Oesophagus into the mouth. Hopefully, he is complying with the management plan of the Ulcer condition. Other possible causes of Halitosis - bad breath - are mouth ulcers and other dental conditions such as Caries, Plaque, Gingivitis, Periodontal diseases, etc. He should then consult a Dentist to rule-out these. Bleeding while defaecating, if it is frank blood, is clearly a lower GI problem, likely Haemorrhoids (Pile), and his doctor should be consulted accordingly. |
ucheawesom:Complete healing and recovery from this condition depends on the severity of the sprain, and how much rest is given to the area - a couple of weeks to even months. I imagine you still carry your baby, hopefully less now on the affected (left) side. The position and activity to avoid is simply a reversal of the position and activity suspected to have triggered-off the sprain: less weight carrying on the left side (not only your baby but other heavy objects, of course). Also, avoid vigorous massages or exercises to the back, in the hope of speeding-up healing - these would only prolong the sprain. Resting the functionality of that portion of your back, and use of the suggested medication, is the key. The prescription is a strong pain reliever as well as an effective anti-inflammatory (hence, it aids the structural healing process) agent. You are welcome, anytime. |
Abdulleeh:God Blees you too. I'm glad to be of help. |
Abdulleeh:Yes, I am. Particularly if there are no associated other symptoms and signs like an obvious rash, etc. |
Wayne4uall:Several Diagnosis can give rise to abdominal pain ("Stomach Pain" .It could be a disease of any organ in the abdominal cavity e.g. the stomach, itself - an Ulcer, Cancer of the Stomach, etc; the lower Oesophagus - Reflux Oesophagitis, Achalesia of the Cardia, Oeophageal Cancer, etc; the Pancreas - Pancreatitis, Cancer of the head of the Pancreas, etc; the Intestines, various Liver diseases, the Appendix, the Gallbladder and so on. Too many delicate organs in the abdominal cavity to joke around with the possible diagnosis; thank God the prevailing disease cases commonly seen are not the more serious ones but we cannot afford to take chances. Unlike a complaint of back-pain felt after prolonged weight-carrying. The fact there is a ready explanation combined with the knowledge that there are relatively much fewer delicate organs in the posterior, lower torso that can give rise to back-pain, makes it safer for me to profer a possible solution. Get a doctor to clerk you, to come to a safe conclusion. |
ucheawesom:It sounds like you may have strained the left side of the back from all that baby-carrying, more on that side. A strain (over-stretch or micro-tear of muscle or ligament fibres) usually takes a while to heal especially as the area usually is still being actively used. If you are not an Ulcer sufferer, try a prescription of tablet Diclofenac Sodium, 100mg twice daily for 1 week, never taken on an empty stomach but immediately after meals. |
Abdulleeh:Did you mean to say "body itching after bathing usually 4 some minutes"? Interesting question, if so. I get this question every now and then. It's all about the connection between your brain and your body. Foreign objects on the body surface tend to tickle or irritate or excite some nerve-endings on the skin like dust, dust-mites, and so on. The brain normally blocks these excitation-signals for you to be able to have a normal day. However, when the balance changes, e.g. after becoming squeeky-clean from a soapy bath, or when the brain is "reminded" of extra-itchy/ extra-sensitive areas of times past, like the crevices at the privates, you begin feeling the itch. It is the same sense in explanation, as when one is able to hold his urge to urinate all the while, but appears almost unable to do so at the last minute on getting to the convenience. The balance that the brain had been holding all the while, begins to fail on waking-up to the reality of the urge, upon the arrival at the convenience. |
Wayne4uall:I'm sorry, I cannot suggest what the problem can be with so few details to work with. Is it a recurrent pain? Is it related to meals? Is the nature of the pain burning, peppery or sharp? Makes you want to vormit? So many more details needed for one to form an opinion. |
fyncorp:Get a referral for your wife to see a Consultant Dermatologist. Or, I'll make this the exception and give you the number of a Consultant Dermatologist I have on my phone: 08033351366. Ordinarilly I shouldn't make referrals on the forum, but your zeal to find a solution by all means, including travelling to another continent, has forced my hand. Consultant Dermatologists here in Nigeria should be able to address the matter. |
netsurf:Your doctor would need to write a referral note addressed to: The Consultant Urologist, Surgical Out-Patient Clinic/Department, So-and-so Hospital, The So-and-so Hospitals to find Consultant Urologists are 1) Teaching Hospitals 2) Some General Hospitals. Once you've made contact with the Consultant Urologist, if you then choose, you can establish a relationship with him on the private clinic level to escape the delays in government hospitals - Lagos State Hospitals are meeting-up, though, these days. Your personal doctor may well have the direct number of a Consultant Urologist, or at best, a Registrar in Training to become a Consultant Urologist. Hope this is helpful. |
Generalmbc:I see your signature - "We dont have the power but we never say never" - and it occurs to me that you've figured out the solution to your problem! |
mysisi:Events may have superceded this doctor's advice - your friend needs to see a doctor especially as she is vomitting and may therefore require more than just oral medication. adetunrayo:You are welcome. |
netsurf:I suggest you get a referral to see a Consultant Urologist. Francobaresi:A number of things could be responsible for your symptoms, Anaemia (low red blood cells count) like you suggested, being one of them. I'm wondering about your age, blood pressure and so on. Go for a doctor's check-up. Abdulleeh:Not at all. Except, perhaps if possibly psychological stress in the particular person then manifests as stomach ache. |
Olami099:I suggest you use the same prescription and dosage, for another one week. Do nothing after that. @ aktunde, Interesting indeed, the outcome of all the medical investigations you have undergone. Well, at least we know there is no life-threatening disease and I'm certain there is nothing harmful that you can pass to your child in future. Sometimes, it the worrying about something that makes the symptoms altogether worse. |
yinx007:Hello. Your best bet is to see a Dermatologist. On another hand, you could try this prescription: Clotrimazole cream e.g Canesten, applied to the scaley areas (and 1.0 centimetre border beyond the edges), twice daily after bathing and towel-drying, for 4 weeks. It's assumedly a Fungal rash. |
mojititi:Getting pregnant now would make it 17 months since the Caesarean Section. I believe most Obstetricians would agree that this is enough of time to get pregnant again. You could cross-check this with your Obstetrician, too, or even ask the same question on @kathyekiti's Obst/Gynae thread. dollypenn:About the episiotomy not healing after 2 weeks, I would suggest you get your doctor to take a look. For shedding excess belly tissue after delivery, well, nature eventually takes care of this anyway. I'm not sure you would be able to cope with nursing your newly-born baby - ordinarily quite tyring - at the same time doing tummy excersises, so I wouldn't suggest tummy excercises. You could simply wait for naturte to do its magic. When your baby is much older, then you could willfully shed wait by excercising and eating right. |
aktunde:I've read what else you have said in the link provided. I'm suspecting you may have a mild degree of Ischaemic Heart Disease. I think you need to see a Cardiologist, who would do the proper assessment. A skin snip to investigate for Allergies, I don't think is relevant here. I may be wrong, though. The Cardiologist, first. |
Troynow:Sorry, there is no proven medical method or otherwise, that works to achieve what you want. Divab:This is unfortunate, seeing that your niece has done everything virtually by the book. Some people are simply just too prone to developing hypertrophic scars and Keloids - any surgical excision would result in the inevitable surgical scar itself becoming hypertrophic. Or, forming a fresh Keloid. Let her see the right specialist - a Burns & Plastics Surgeon. |
dgail:@ dgail I get the impression that you are expecting too much from what to me sounds like a normal-working mind. Most people, me inclusive, would read and enjoy an interesting novel, for example, only to forget the details of the story months later. How many Hardley-Chase novels did I thoroughly read and enjoy but now cannot remember a single story-line clearly. Even the short-term memory confusion you described. It is only rarely you find folks with a photographic memory. In any case, see your doctor to be sure. |
Okags:You are probably normal. However I wish you had quantified the time it takes for you to e j a c u l a t e after penetration. Most healthy men average about 2 - 3 minutes. It depends, however on a number of factors. In the disease, Premature e j a c u l a t i o n, the man ejaculates either just before he manages to penetrate, or very few seconds after penetration. |
adetunrayo:This may well explain the light-headedness. Hope you've been adviced to maintain a balanced diet rich in vitamins and minerals. You should be on a blood Tonic, too. collins123:I can only give you my word, here. I'm qualified. However, the usual disclaimer applies here as in any health-advisory editorial anywhere - there is no better substitute than seeing your medical doctor eye-ball to eye-ball. You then can demand for his licence before consultation. He'll then probably charge you good and proper ![]() |
chuxy12:To be honest, I never heard of this matter. pheesayor:Yes, Arthritis is a possibility. You need a doctor's check on your condition. |
1759:Select a brand that is a house-hold name, and that contains Iron, Folic acid and the B-complex vitamins e.g. Astifer Olami099:Blood Tonic is not necessary with use of Tetracycline. Mclusho:Your friend likely has Haemorrhoids, and should then get a doctor's check. You, on the other hand are probably very normal - palpitations and shortness of breath are normal after strenuous activity, particularly if there are no undue chest pains accompanying. pheesayor:Are you a professional sportsman? The point is, your pains may be explained based on the level of physical strain your body is subjected to. Or a disease - in which case more details about your symptoms, other associated complaints if any, past medical history, genotype, etc needs to be gathered by your doctor to make the right diagnosis. thoby708:Asthmatic attacks come in various degrees in the same sufferer. Sometimes it's the weather that determines the severity of an attack. The more severe attacks would not respond to just the inhaler alone - you are better off going to get an assessment from your doctor - he just might have to give you a needle shot of a stronger medication, to cancell-out the asthmatic attack. While there is no medication to "cure" Asthma, the good thing is that the attacks usually become less severe and far-between, as one gets older. nairapower:Amoxycillin is very safe at any stage of pregnancy. I'm not too sure about giving COARTEM in the first trimester of pregnancy. I think this might be contraindicated and so they need to cross-check this with a Gynaecologist. |
judity:I suspect you meant to post this to the Obs/Gynae thread. Please do and @kathyekiti will soon get back to you. It's too specialized in its details for my general-duty medical skills. nuga10:About the black spots, I can understand your situation especially as your complexion is light. Instead of experimenting, I suggest you see an expert Cosmetologist and I'm going out of my way to recommend one here: Chique Afrique, on Thurbourne Avenue, Yaba, Lagos (Near Domino Stores). About the phlegm hanging about in the throat. If there is no soreness in the throat, and just phlegm for a chronic period of time, I suggest you stop all antibiotic usage for now. Clear your throat lightly, not strongly. Strongly can cause some micro-damages which would cause the throat to react by pouring out more mucus. Also, try some restraint - ignore it a bit, for a long time. It probably will eventually ease-up adetunrayo:I should have noticed you are female, sorry. O.k. I suggest then that you check your PCV in the lab and you get your BP checked to be sure. Good that the head-spinning is reducing in frequency. They could have also been contributed to by a time of more work with little time-out to recuperate and replenish used-up body metabolites. Tokotaya:Thanks. I appreciate the compliment. |
@kingpins Recurring shoulder dislocation can be difficult to manage indeed, without surgery. I was discussing the matter about 3 weeks ago with our orthopaedic surgeon - there was this young man who came in with the exact same problem as yours. A body bandage applied for about 4 weeks is what would have been required at the initial dislocation - this is a bandage wrapped around the body with the affected limb tucked inside the wrap, of course, after reduction of the dislocation, first. This ensures a full healing of the over-stretched, weakened rotator cuff muscles that keep the joint in proper place, otherwise a high tendency of a recurrence is usual, as is the case with you. A body bandage at this late stage, is virtually ineffective - so says the specialist I discussed with. The lasting remedy is surgical operation that will firm-up the rotator cuff muscles around thw ball of the shoulder joint. @Olami099 I've suggested a cure for your Pimples few days back when I replied your post. I suggest that you stop all types of spot-fading creams first, and then wait for a while - about 2 months. Your normal facial tone should become even again after the effect of the cream would have worn off. You can right-away get this prescription for the Pimples: Capsules TETRACYCLINE 500mg every 6 hours for 10 days. @1759 I agree with your doctor that in general, a balanced diet inclusive of fruits and vegetables, would make multivitamin suppliments un-necessary. However, multivitamin suppliments are greatly beneficial for those under a higher metabolic turn-over like yourself (due to your regular exercice activity) or those who have been depleted of the normal serum vitamin levels as in people recovering from an illness, particularly chronic ones. Combining fruits and vegetables with multiviatamins (recommended daily doses ) is o.k. glomerry:Hi, @glomerry. I hope it was a doctor who was directing the affairs in all of the happenings you have mentioned here. Believe me when I say that half-knowledge can kill. Here is what you should do. First, bare in mind that you may not even have a big issue; forget the laboratory results of Staph Aureus, etc. Forget them that is, until you are being directed by a real doctor alone, to know the real issue. @ solo2 If it's just noise and no other description of discomfort like pain or bloatedness, and if there are no other associated symptoms of ill-health, then no problem there. It's probably normal bowel sounds. |
iyin:O.k, well the cause could be of an airway disease problem (upper airway or lower), a cardio-vascular ailment (the heart works in close circuit with respiration) or even Anaemia, in which the capacity of the blood to receive Oxygen from the lungs, is reduced. Treatment and Prevention can then be specified once your doctor determines the specific cause. |
kingpins: kingpins:I think you should simply take as much water as would quench your thirst. People have different rates of passing stools,; some daily, and some once a week. You didn't exactly say you used to pass hard stools and in any case the matter you say has been resolved so I suggest you observe your usual diet with perhaps a little more fibre (fruits and vegetables) added, and o.k, maybe a little extra water to wash down your food. |
