Peace be onto y'all.

Pls I'd like to ask if it is possible to make a request to CIC to postpone one's initial entry date (IED). My IED is before June 27, 2019 and I may not be able to travel before that time.

Can you help SuzyAllen with his query?

Thanks...

I am miles away from Sydney. Not sure I will get to have holiday in that city again.
Tanx a lot Bellong. Really appreciate. Tried getting a short term stay on Airbnb at the places u mentioned. They are pricey too. Right now I have to stay another night at the motel and work tirelessly to get alternative accommodation by Sunday latest. God help me!!!!.

M actually a SHE........

Have you checked through Airbnb again?

It is the best short alternative before you can get a permanent place.

Alternatively, look for backpackers that can accommodate a family. Motel is expensive.

I don't live in Sydney, I have no other alternative idea. Hopefully someone living in Sydney will come to your rescue.
Tanx a lot. Airbnb is expensive the ones I got are from $850 and above. Its been mentally exhausting( this too shall pass!!!!)

Hello fellow compatriots. Finally landed in Sydney on the 18th of October, 2018. No immigration hassles. Actually have accommodation challenges and I need kind hearted suggestions. Been staying in a motel with my family of 4 for 2 days now($131 per day). Of course expensive and v spent my time looking for affordable alternative on airbnb since my arrival . Got one but unfortunately my host cancelled my booking last minute. Want to start surfing for rented apartment and was wondering the best low cost, safe suburb (300-400 per week) for a family at least 30 mins from Sydney CBD. Also if anyone has contact of a reliable agent, pls help me with it. I need to leave this motel asap. Thank u.

Congrats @suzzyallen.

Your matter is not hard at all.

Reach out to the Local VO stamping you and copy CIC HO (preferably email...do a detailed email explaining your circumstance(just say that the family has a firm travel plan for so so date with tickets already bought..add the tickets as evidence in attachment). Do a follow call up in if you can to CIC and local stamping VO) and seek for stamping request be moved to Sydney, Australia.

Do the request email early now...as in now! Don't delay.

I'm almost 97% sure, the family will get stamped in Sydney VO.

In the alternative, if your Australian arrival time is still within the 15 days window, then do an express courier of the passports to your stamping VO. (It won't take courier more than 4 days max to get from anywhere in the world to anywhere else in the world)- Not sure about this though..ask around whether you can boycott VSF global Lagos by sending your passport to Accra VO directly from abroad.

Fret not, we have seen similar scenarios here...PPR came, husband schooling in Australia and wife somewhere else. They got CIC exemption to get stamped separately in the nearest VOs to them. No big deal.

Congratulations once again on your double blessings. Go and flourish wherever you eventually choose to settle. That which you choose shall be your Goshen.

It will all end in praise IJN!

Thanx for the suggestion. Pls kindly furnish me with CIC HO email address and local VOC email so i can send the request to them asap. I tried to send an email using the email Addy that was used to send the PPR but it kept saying error message can't be sent. Tanx a lot for the well wishes. Appreciate.

Evening everyone. Pls I need your help. My family and I received PPR this morn(thank God) and the email says we are to send our passports within 15days of receipt of the email. The issue now is that we can't submit our passports now because we are leaving Nigeria for Sydney on the 16th of October, 2018 to arrive Sydney on the 18th. My question is how do I navigate around this. Is it possible to submit the passports at VFS global in Sydney or I have to courier the passports to VFS global in Nigeria. Ur prompt response in this regard will be highly appreciated.
Pls other suggestions on the above issue is highly appreciated.

Hi suzzyallen. Is this your first PPR at all? Because this your announcement is too casual o. It’s a cause for celebration. So please, announce it like you’re really thanking God and also drop your timeline and visa office. Haba now.grin
M so sorry. Been under a lot of pressure this week as am relocating to Australia next week. Actually have Aussie PR, so we done pop champagne before before. PPR came as a surprise. Started Canadian route in Jan, 2018 when the Aussie PR got delayed (13 months) and i started to loose hope of getting a positive response. Wrote IELTS- Feb 2018, verification of my credentials delayed so entered pool in April and got ITA in May. Applied for Canny visa July 20, but wasnt really expecting PPR so soon. It hasn't really sunk in as have been busy packing and trying to sell some of my stuff..... God has really wiped away all my tears. This time last year, I was in tears cos we received bad news concerning our Aussie visa application. See how God works. He gave us double for our trouble......Eyin Oluwa logooo!!!!!

IMO, kindly do them a mail and explain your situation as explained above, requesting for approval to submit your passport in Sydney, provided you will will be staying in Sydney up to 2-4weeks, so that you won’t be under pressure of no passport to return when you are billed to return to base. Else, just request for time extension that will accommodate your return back to Nigeria for submission.
Others can weigh in.
Enjoy.
Thank you. Will do that asap.

Hello my Sis, was your hubby's reference letter from place of work addressed directly to the Assessing body or 'To who it may Concern' Please help. Do you think they will accept 'To whom it may concern'?
Hey! My Hubby's company doesnt address letters of reference to any organisation other than embassies so he requested for a letter of introduction to the Australian embassy and used it as his letter of reference. The letter was accepted by both his assessing body and DIBP. I guess u can address ur letter of reference whichever way since my Hubby's letter of introduction to embassy was accepted.

Hello, I'm a silent reader. I just want to encourage other people by sharing my PR journey as I have also equally learnt a lot from other people's experinces. My family and I decided to apply for Aussie PR in 2016. In March 2017, due to hubby's IELTS score (L8S7W7R9), he couldn't get up to 60 points to apply for 189. So, we decided to apply for NSW 190 visa, and to our surprise, we received ITA in 2 weeks. Lodged visa on May 10, 2017 and did PCC and Medicals a 16days after following CO contact.

We were very hopeful that we would receive the grant latest September 2017 as the process seemed to be moving fast for us. It wasn't easy waking up everyday checking email with the hope of getting the golden email. It was so emotionally draining. However, instead of the grant, we got a Natural Justice email in October 17, 2017. It was not a happy moment . Apparently, the HR of my husband's company made a mistake with his date of birth while responding to DIBP during employment verification. They gave a wrong year of birth but correct date and month of birth reducing his age by almost 10 years in comparison with his real age. This casted a big shadow on the genuineness of my husband's claimed employment. So, DIBP wanted him to prove that his claimed employment was not phony. They also wanted clarify some other issues with his letter of reference and his pay slip.

We contacted a MARA agent for a way forward as we were confused about what to do. The agent requested for AUD4500, which we couldn't afford at the time. We then decided to respond on our own with God on our side. Thankfully, hubby's HR agreed to rectify the mistake and sent DIBP a mail to that effect. On our own, we came up with and submitted a 64-page response with evidence supporting the genuineness of his employment in November 10, 2017.

In January, 2018 my hubby suggested that we explore Canadian PR since we had not heard from DIBP following submission of NJL response in November. I wrote IELTS in Feb 2018 but verification of my credentials took a while so I entered the pool in April, 2018. Received ITA in May 2018 (at this time, our mind was off Aussie PR as we were trying to gather documents for Canadian PR visa application).
On June 12, we were contacted by Aussie COto redo PCC and Medicals ####HOPE RENEWED.

Morning of July 6, 2018 as I was preparing for work, hubby suddenly screamed "granted". I was startled, then he showed me the golden email.
IED 29th November, 2018. It was like a dream. After 13 months of waiting, we thank God, PR LANDED.
Just to encourage everyone that there is hope after NJL.

Now on to the next phasehuhhuh Have 3 months to pack. Sydney here I come.........
