Hello my Sis, was your hubby's reference letter from place of work addressed directly to the Assessing body or 'To who it may Concern' Please help. Do you think they will accept 'To whom it may concern'?

Hey! My Hubby's company doesnt address letters of reference to any organisation other than embassies so he requested for a letter of introduction to the Australian embassy and used it as his letter of reference. The letter was accepted by both his assessing body and DIBP. I guess u can address ur letter of reference whichever way since my Hubby's letter of introduction to embassy was accepted.

You can start by reading up some few opeining pages of the part 1 of this thread, here https://www.nairaland.com/3053069/general-guide-australian-permanent-resident then you can have an idea of how it goes.

Come back and state your profile here after you must have found your occupation on any the skill lists or something related to your occupation. Then you can ask any specific question as to how to proceed to get better clarity.

Good luck to you.

Good morning guys.

It seems everyone has moved to Canada thread, anyways I'm begging the house to help me with my questions cos I want to send my documents to VETASSESS for assessment.

My profile:

Age: 27
English test: Hope to get 20 points in PTE or IELTS (I dont know which to write yet)
Education: BSc. Accounting (in a Nigeria State University) and an Advanced Diploma in ACCA
Experience: I have 7 months experience as an Accountant & Audit trainee, however, I have 4 years experience in a Bank as a Customer Experience and Service Audit Analyst.

1. I am not sure if assessing as an Accountant will help me get PR due to the limited period of experience even with my ACCA advanced diploma.

2. I checked out Customer Service Manager (149212) and the job descriptions are similar to what I do in the bank. Can I assess with VETASSESS as a Customer Service Manager with my Accounting background cos VETASSESS requirements for this job does not really state if my job must be in sync to what I studied?

3. If the answer to 2 above is Yes, will VETASSESS reduce my years of experience for whatever reason? (P.S, the 4 years experience is in one bank)

4. I read on this page that some state universities get 10 points for education instead of 15 points due to cateogrization of the Universities by the assessing bodies. I also got info from a friend that the assessing bodies make use of the transcript/syllabus to award either 10 or 15 points and not necessarily due to the categorization of universities. How true is the latter?

5. Can VETASSESS assess my combined ACCA Advanced diploma and BSc Accounting so I can get the maximum 15 points?

6. After one gets an ITA, how long till the Visa fee of AU$3,755 is paid.

Only NT nominates Customer Service Manager for 190 and 485 Visa class but I'd like to go for 190.

Abeg, make una no vex with my long list of questions. Oyinbo say, "person wey ask for direction no dey miss road."

@ oga bellong and other stakeholders, please attend to my case.

Experience: I have 7 months experience as an Accountant & Audit trainee, however, I have 4 years experience in a Bank as a Customer Experience and Service Audit Analyst.

Ans 1, You will need to have high point to assess for Accounting like 85points so customer service is best for you.

Ans 2, Customer service is in skilled level 2 and you did a 4years course in state university which is equal to Associate degree by Australia standard and at the same time what they need for customer service.

3. If the answer to 2 above is Yes, will VETASSESS reduce my years of experience for whatever reason? (P.S, the 4 years experience is in one bank)

Ans 3, Yes they will reduce just pray they dont take all as it's written that 3years experience will be deducted if your study is not closely related.please visit Anzsco search for more details.

Ans 4 ,As long as your university is state and your course of study is not 5 years be sure to be in the category of tier 2 university. Even some federal university's are in tier 2.

5. Can VETASSESS assess my combined ACCA Advanced diploma and BSc Accounting so I can get the maximum 15 points?

Ans no 5, Accountant will answer that part for you.

6. After one gets an ITA, how long till the Visa fee of AU$3,755 is paid.

Ans 6, Once you get ITA you have 60days from the day of the ITA to pay.

Only NT nominates Customer Service Manager for 190 and 485 Visa class but I'd like to go for 190.

Ans 7, Go to their site and check their requirement but mind you NT hardly give 190 only if you have a family and a job offer then your chances are high without the two please take the 489 asap.

Abeg, make una no vex with my long list of questions. Oyinbo say, "person wey ask for direction no dey miss road."

@ oga bellong and other stakeholders, please attend to my case.

You only need police report from a country you have lived for a cumulative period of 12 months.

Thanks for the response.

This means I will lose points in education and skill assessment. Hopefully I will get nomination for 489. Just the cost for d vetassess is crazy and at the end still end up with 489.

May I go check Canny page since I have two degrees

The taste of the pudding is in the eating. The only way to find out is by submitting your expression of interest with the state.

Going by the contribution of someone in the past about NSW and civil engineers, I think you shouldn't have any issue.

The winter is alright. Australia has a beautiful and mild winter.

Unfortunately, the occupation has been removed from the list after the mining industry downturn.
The only hope is if you see an employer to sponsor you provided you have skill set that cannot be sourced locally.

Scan everything and let them worry about what they need or don't need.

My wife graduated 2011 (Microbiology). She wants to do skilled assessment as Medical Laboratory Scientist with AIMS. AIMS claims to have two stages to be qualified as Medical Laboratory Scientist, one is document assessment and the second stage is written exam organised by them which is additional cost and one needs to apply for it after the first stage is completed.

My questions are:
(1) Is the second stage to write exam compulsory to be eligible for Skilled immigration to Australia as a Medical Laboratory Scientist or Document assessment is enough?

(2) Is there a way to claim 8 years working experience to get 15 points as she graduated 2011? (5-7 yrs is 10 points and 8-10 yrs is 15 points, we need the 15 points).

Thanks
