Hi guys, has anyone used an Asus phone before? Just stumbled on one today; Asus Zenfone 5 (2018). Its yet to be officially launched, but now I'm torn between it and the Redmi Note 5 pro. |
Phones › Re: The Xiaomi Thread. by Svelte98(f): 2:56am On Mar 12, 2018 |
shakaz: Well I had same fear initially. But after spending some time reading and watching YouTube videos my orientation changed. I realized that the new 18:9 aspect ratio and bezeless display allows for more screen to be placed on a phone without increasing it's size or bulkiness in anyway. Example of this is the Samsung S8+ which is 6.2 inch but look smaller than most 5.5 inch phone. Same goes with iPhone X 5.7 inch, but is obviously smaller than iPhone 8+ 5.5inch . My friend uses Gionee A1 lite 5.3inch screen but the old 16:9 aspect ratio, he was expecting my 5 plus to be twice his, but much to his chagrin they are almost same size. So you see bigger screen does not translate to bigger phone thanks to the new aspects ratio.
I'm sure the 5 plus would be similar to note 4 in size but if in doubt check both dimensions on gsmarena.
Modified : I checked gsmarena the 5 plus is even smaller than the note 4x
Redmi 5 plus: 158.5 x 75.5 x 8.1 mm (6.24 x 2.97 x 0.32 in)
Redmi note 4x : 151 x 76 x 8.5 mm (5.94 x 2.99 x 0.33 in)
Although the 5 plus is about 15g heavier than the note 4x. Thanks for the explanation. |

Gptech: You mean Redmi 5 plus? Starts from around 57k but if you mean the Redmi note pro, it starts from around 84k. Thanks. |
Phones › Re: The Xiaomi Thread. by Svelte98(f): 12:14am On Mar 12, 2018 |
Gptech: But the Redmi 5 plus and the Redmi note 5 pro are approximately thesame in weight, 180g versus 181g. Maybe you should just buy it and see for yourself, you don't need like it, will buy it at an appropriate price . If you are really after lighter phones, be ready to sacrifice battery. Lol. No problem. Thanks. Any idea how much the Redmi 5 Pro goes for? |
Phones › Re: The Xiaomi Thread. by Svelte98(f): 11:22pm On Mar 11, 2018 |
Gptech: The Redmi note 5 plus is not an upgrade over the Redmi note 4x, unless you are just after the new design language. As for size and weight, you'll hardly notice any change with the Redmi note 4x, just slightly longer, but thinner. Would advise you go for Redmi note 5 pro instead that's the upgrade. P.S: I've read that the Note 5 pro is not just much bigger, but much heavier than 5 plus. So its already a turn off for me. I may like big/wide screens, but bulky/heavy phones are not for me. My hands are little. |

shakaz: I'm now officially part of the Xiaomi family. My Xiaomi Redmi 5 plus just arrived.
P.s: I have watched virtually all the unboxing on YouTube, but no camera could capture the full beauty of the phone .
I still can't believe it's not a flagship, cuz I'm having same feeling I had when I held my friend's Samsung s8. Nice job Xiaomi. I obviously wasn't disappointed. Time to intimidate my tecno and infinix colleagues. Hello. So I'm thinking about buying the Redmi 5 plus, but I'm worried about the size and weight. I'm female, with not-so-large hands and I'm currently using the Redmi Note 4x which has a perfect grip on my hands at 5.5 inches. But the Redmi 5 plus is 5.99 inches so I'm kind of worried about both the size and weight. How is it for you? |

In as much as the job is a work-from-home offer, we require candidates who are professional and will take the job as a full-time priority. Our rules are indeed flexible as well and 100% original content is our watchword - nothing like copy & paste plagiarism in our lingo.
Ideal candidate:

If you are available and willing to take on this job, kindly send your CV and portfolio with examples of previous work to contact@naijaturnup.com
Please, note that we reserve to right to contact only interesting candidates. Hello, good evening. I'm just seeing this post now. I studied Accounting, but I love/have a flair for writing stories, articles, poems, etc. Am I eligible to apply? |

Everyone is just focused on the whole rape story. All I'm interested in is the outcome of the "talk" she had with her boyfriend after the whole incident. And to all the ladies here saying there's no justification for what the guy did, we all know that if something like this happened to a friend, the first question we'll ask the person will be "but why did you go to his house"?. I really don't wish this on anyone, but at the same time, I wouldn't advise any friend of mine to go to a guy's place and stay the night, especially a guy you barely know. I don't care how nice he was or how educated he sounded when you guys met, if you don't know him/trust him well enough, do not go to his house. Nobody deserves to be raped for any reason, but please think about what may happen the next time you're about to stay overnight in a guy's place. And for the guys too, we all know its not easy to resist temptations, but if the worst comes to the worst, you can opt to sleep somewhere else, maybe on the floor or in the parlour. If after going to another room the girl follows you there with the excuse that she's probably cold or something, then we can bear you witness that you tried to stay away. Its just for a night. You won't die of starvation. And let's not take away the infidelity part in this story, there's a part where she said "she didn't want it to get to this extent MOSTLY BECAUSE SHE HAD A BOYFRIEND" I think this was when the guy went down on her. So basically if she didn't have a boyfriend, it would have been okay? But I digress, we all know this girl had no business whatsoever in that guy's house. Ladies, if the tables were turned, if it was a guy that went to a girl's house, changed to his boxers or shorts and cuddled with the girl, we know we'll automatically consider that as cheating. And we know the number of curses we'll lay on his head. Practice what you preach. If you know you won't be cool with your bf going to a girl's place for whatever reason, then don't go to a guy's place for whatever reason. You don't have to be married before you respect your r.ship. All this little things matter. As for the story, its only the girl and the guy that know what really happened that day.
PEACE. |

Nerdg: Don't say what you don't know, I asked for advice and not your Masturbation on the thread OP, do you even realise that the same sex you insisted on having was what got your girlfriend pregnant, the pregnancy you both aborted. Talk of double standards. You want to have sex, but you don't want to accept the responsibility that comes with it. You'll probably say you weren't in a position to take care of a baby then, its simple; if you weren't/aren't in a comfortable position, then either you don't have sex or you wait till you're comfortable enough to take care of a baby if the sex results to that. |

Nerdg: I don't think she's trying to test me
My worry is why she had always refused me sex whereas she's this exposed. Could it be because of this she accepted my proposal? So she's now "exposed" because she had sex with another guy and got pregnant for him? You don't know the circumstances surrounding that decision. The way i see it, you guys both made a mistake and are wise/mature enough to own up to it. Forgive each other, pray to God for forgiveness and continue with the marriage plans. She made a very big effort to tell you that. You guys should talk about it and continue with your lifes. |
