Jobs/VacanciesRe: First Bank 2019 Graduate Trainee Assessment Centre Invite by Svelte98(f): 6:03pm On Jun 26, 2019
Hi guys. For those asking for details of the TS, its generally okay. Today was the first day so we didn't do much. One of the facilitators addressed us, talked about our dressing, examination, conducts and there was a question and answer session. Then we had a brief orientation on First Bank history, products, services, departments, etc. Then we had a tea break. After that we just discussed amongst ourselves as there was no facilitator on ground. Then we had lunch, and went home.

Very weird angle; but is it possible that they increased the TS allowance to 70k because of the Minimum wage increase from 18k to 30k and there may be accomodation?
Because I noticed that most banks this year increased their TS allowance.
Jobs/VacanciesRe: First Bank 2019 Graduate Trainee Assessment Centre Invite by Svelte98(f): 4:54pm On Jun 19, 2019
Guys please can we rally around for this accommodation thing? Maybe rent a house or something. Especially those of us coming in from other states outside Lagos.

Congratulations you are hereby advised to report for the firstbank training school. Having fulfilled the requirements. Endeavour to get your dress code ready. For the men red tie, blue ties with sky blue or white shirt with black suit. For the women black skirt and white. You are to report to the training school on 24th June 2019 .
trouble maker cheesy

At this rate I don't even mind if TS is in August, I just need them to send an official mail bearing the date so at least I'll know whether to start buying suits or continue applying for other jobs. All this "HR reassured me that it's 24th" isn't helping matters. We need the mail abeg. cheesy cheesy

Thanks for sharing. I read through every page on the thread and I must confess it was really insightful and educating. Though, most of the comments paints the banking industry in a somewhat bad light, there are still positives to take from them. Thanks once again.
I'm really glad you gained something from it despite some of the negative comments. Like I said earlier on to someone else, yes, there are demotivating and negative comments, but there are still really good advice and lessons embedded in them. So just pick out the positive ones and you'll be fine.

Thanks for this. Mine is too work in the banking sector for a few years and jet out. Unlike where i am currently, the IT department in a bank would give me exposure to more things than what I’m currently being exposed to over here.

Its 70k without Accomodation. With accomodation will then be 56k. You are spot on.
Does that mean accomodation isn't compulsory? Because for that extra 14k most people may prefer to stay outside.

I totally agree with you. Some folks still won't be ready even if they're given a year extension. This process has been on for long, no need to drag it any further.
exactly.

Maybe no-one knows the exact amount that's paid both during the TS and after the TS. You can also go through previous threads (2016) to read up any additional information you need. And yes there's accommodation; some people asked during documentation and it was confirmed. Read the previous pages and you'll see it. And from what I've read from previous threads, after TS you get a 2 weeks holiday and after that you pick up your offer/posting letter. Just read through past threads (2016 thread in particular).

Saimeritus:
Don't be self-centered here, you know some people has to tender resignation letters to their various organizations and also people coming from far places such as Sokoto and Kano needs adequate preparation.
He/she isn't been self centered, its the people that called to ask for an extension that are self centered here. While I agree that some people need to resign from their jobs, what about the others who don't have any jobs and have been waiting around for the TS mail so they can finally do something meaningful professionally? If you know you're not ready for the TS, no problem; but instead of asking for an extension, ask to be added to the next batch of TS. In that way you'll have enough time to resign and prepare adequately for the TS, while the ones who are ready can join the first batch. Its a win-win situation for everyone. The funny thing is that even with the new unofficial date (24th), some people still won't be ready, so imagine if they call again and ask for another extension to July probably. What happens then? HR will just keep shifting the date until EVERYBODY is ready. It doesn't make any sense.

The wait is always the worst part. Nothing is sure until the mail arrives, not reliable times from secret sources, not calculations based on previous threads, not even info from HR personnel. Everything is up in the air, sure bets become gambles wink too sure become long odds. Mails are refreshed a 100 times per hour and some log on with other computers to make sure village people haven't come in by night bus, others follow Nairaland thread like it was Jesus and they the 12 disciples. Data finishing at this point will initiate panic on a level that only coke fiends can relate with.
To be fair, there's very little that can be done about this feeling, anticipation is such a powerful emotion, looking forward to something makes you create fantasies of your reaction when you finally get what you want that sometimes when you finally get it, you had already plateaued at anticipation and the real thing doesn't compare.

What does all this have to do with TS dates, I have no clue, you see I was bored and I put down my thoughts. Because at the end of the day if I crace, they will replace me with a snap.
lmao cheesy grin we will be alright las las. Just take it easy
