At least 23 people were killed when a bus carrying Catholic pilgrims hit a cargo truck and erupted in flames in southeast Mexico, authorities said.

The collision took place in the state of Veracruz near the municipality of Maltrata, the state government said.

The pilgrims were returning home to the Archdiocese of Tuxtla in Chiapas after visiting Mexico City’s Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe, according to Mexican federal police.

Thirty people involved in the crash have been transported to a local hospital, said the Civil Protection Department of Veracruz.

Bimbo, the 8-month pregnant lady whose sister called out her husband, Darry Ogbonna, for allegedly beating her to coma, has finally regained her consciousness after days of battling for her life.

Speaking on what led to the battery, Bimbo allegedly revealed that she was having an argument with his brother-in-law. However, her husband sided with his brother and gave her a dirty slap and they started fighting.

She added that Mr. Ogbonna badly beat her up and pulled off her braids. He eventually stopped when she collapsed.

The wife was then rushed to the hospital where doctors fought hard to resuscitate her. She has now been booked for an emergency CS to deliver the baby. .

THE ROAD TO FRANCE 2019

Having not played an international match since a 2-1 defeat by Guyana in November 2015, the Reggae Girlz played Barbados and Cuba in April 2018 before starting their World Cup qualification campaign in May.

It got off to a bright start with a thumping 13-0 win over Guadeloupe in the opening match, followed by a 3-0 victory over Martinique and a draw with Haiti. Victories continued, against Antigua and Barbuda, Bermuda, Trinidad and Tobago and Cuba before, to no one’s surprise, the team lost to Canada.

But it was the match two days after the defeat by Canada, a 1-0 win over Costa Rica in Texas last October, which gave the team belief they could achieve what many had felt impossible.

“That win against Costa Rica was a big turning point for us.”

In 2008, funding was cut and the women’s senior team was disbanded. Six years later, Bob Marley’s daughter, Cedella, attempted to fix things by becoming an ambassador and sponsor through the Bob Marley Foundation, raising just enough for the team to re-form. But in 2016, the federation disbanded the team again.

Environmental campaigners are raising the alarm after a sperm whale was found dead on an Italian beach with plastic in its stomach.

Greenpeace Italia said the carcass of the young animal — estimated to be 7 years old — washed up Friday on the beach at Cefalu, a popular tourist destination in Sicily.

Grim images posted on the group’s Facebook page show the whale lying on the beach, its stomach full of plastic bags and other plastic objects.

“As you can see from the images we’re sharing, a lot of plastic was found in its stomach,” Greenpeace Italia’s Giorgia Monti said in a statement. “A probe of the sperm whale’s death has just started and we don’t know yet if the animal died because of this, but we certainly can’t pretend that nothing is happening.”

Olamide Adedeji also known as ‘Baddo’ has become a household name in the Nigerian music industry since he burst into the scene in 2011 with the sick rap anthem ‘Eni Duro’. A lot has happened to the street king since then, he has been enjoying hits every year and even boasts of dropping an album pretty much every year since 2011.

After he dropped his first album, ‘Rapsodi’ he left his former record label ‘Coded Tunes’ headed by veteran producer ID Cabasa. Was it a great move? Many would have said no but Olamide’s belief and determination even led him to turn down a deal allegedly offered to him by D Banj. As a matter of facts and numbers, Olamide has done excellently well since he left his former label and manager.

You can be a top musician and a poor manager, this has happened countless times both in the foreign and local music industries, the biggest of the biggest artistes are still signed to parent label while some have their own little label, you talk of Drake, Nicki, French Montana. When some depart, they just fall off like they never existed.

In Nigeria, you just get two years of being at the top and an artiste like Reekado thinks he has seen it all and can run a label on his own, too bad.

A Nursing Officer II at the National Orthopaedic Hospital Igbobi, Lagos state, has died, days after he was pushed down a moving vehicle by suspected one-chance operators in Lagos.

Aderoju Victor Olumuyiwa was going to work in the early hours of Wednesday, May 22, 2019, when he mistakenly boarded a one-chance bus. After being robbed, he was allegedly pushed down and he sustained a head injury.

Sorbari Apollolos has found his way back to the same place he was some few months after he was released as he and his Gang were apprehended in different part of Rivers State.

The Suspect who is Popularly known as Blackie among his gang members, Apollolos was recently arrested by the police for kidnapping a 67-year-old businesswoman identified only as Obianuju.

According to information, the suspect whose names are Daniel Johngbo, Harridon Barryira and Lebara Tobia, were apprehended at several locations in the state.

Jiang, 30, a former engineering student at a community college in Albany, Oregon, pleaded guilty in federal court Wednesday to trafficking in counterfeit goods, the U.S. Attorney’s office in Portland announced.

The presence of fake iPhones and other high-tech gadgets has become an issue in global resale markets, with some counterfeit versions operating so well it’s hard for users to tell the difference between them and the genuine products.

Over the span of two years, a Chinese national in Oregon sent devices that looked like iPhones to Apple, saying they wouldn’t turn on and should be replaced under warranty.

He didn’t just submit a couple of the devices — he delivered in person or shipped to Apple around 3,000 of them.

Friends of a Boy have decided to organize a mini birthday bash for their friend, today, in Akure, Ondo State.

It is a common place in nigeria streets to see youths beat eachother or make their friends do insane things like swimming in mud, or even lying down in a filthy gutter all in the name of celebrating his/her birthday.

In this video, we can see about 20 people throwing sachets of water from about 15 bags of water made available for them on a single guy struggling to get away from them.

Kylian Mbappe scooped up the Ligue 1 Player of the Year award for 2018/19 but just under the surface, all may not be well with the French boy wonder.

Mbappe was fully deserving of his award, scoring 32 goals in just 28 games as PSG strolled to a sixth league title in seven years, taking up the goalscoring burden in the long-term absence of the likes of Neymar and Edinson Cavani.

However, upon receiving his award, the 20-year-old came out with some rather murky comments, eluding to the fact that he may well be considering a move away from Paris in search of a new challenge with “more responsibility”.

The saga surrounding Naira Marley and EFCC continues.

He was charged in court today on a 11 count charge for fraud.

Naira Marley, Zlatan Ibile, Rahman Jago and two others were arrested by men of the EFCC.

His lawyer originally delayed proceedings with his absence. However, Naira Marley has pleaded not guilty to the 11 counts of fraud.

The case for his bail application has been set to May 30th which means he will be in custody till at least May 30th.

Regina Daniels has been in the news for months after she married a 59 year old politician by name Ned Nwoko.
