This isn't 1967 and in the event of a secession, I don't think a deportation of Igbos from the west will be successful. Where will Yoruba people start from if they want to start deporting Igbos?

Politics / Re: Creating A Lasting Peace Between The Igbos And The Hausas by Sweetguy25: 10:26am On Jun 08, 2017
The hatred between Igbos and Hausas is real, Unlike the yoruba-igbo animosity that exists mostly on the internet.

Hausa and Igbo really don't like each other and I dont think that will change anytime soon.

The onus is on you to dispute it with facts.

Are the accounts of the victims lies ?
The sources of the researchers wrong ?
Do you have facts and source to prove this otherwise ?
This Efik/Ibibio man, is this not the man who surrendered, after Ojukwu fled to Abidjan ?
What was the military ethnic makeup of the Biafran rebel group, how many non-ibo speaking fighters did they have ?
You say numerous, how many ?

The researchers present fact, figure, numbers and correlations

You call these facts? Can they be verified by a third party?

Somebody made up a piece of article and you called them facts. You need to check your brain Mr man.

Was Oladipo Diya not Abacha's Deputy when Abacha was persecuting Yorubas bombing their land, and haunting their leaders?

Give us academic report to counter the well researched, verifiable and factual write up.

Wrong analogy. We are talking of a civil war not politics.
Politics / Re: Biafran Soldiers Killed Thousands: The Genocide In Calabar & More by Sweetguy25: 9:17am On Jun 03, 2017
The second in command to General Ojukwu was an Efik/Ibibio man and he stood with Ojukwu till the end. There were numerous Efiks, Ibibios and Ogoja people who fought for Biafra. Calling this so called report an academic journal doesn't negate its subjectivity to dispute. Academic reports or journals are not sacrosanct, they can also be filled with lies, half truths or mistruths.

This one is dead on arrival.

Politics / Re: Northern Nigeria Is Not Poor, Southerners. by Sweetguy25: 9:55am On Jun 02, 2017
First of all, Nigeria is generally a poor country. However, when comparing poverty within Nigeria, the North is very much poorer than the south.

No northern zone is richer (on a per capita basis) than any southern zone.

I stand to be disputed.

Idiagbon was not a brave man. Given that Buhari wasn't killed or assassinated by IBB, he knew that he wasn't going to die. If he was brave, didn't he try to reclaim power?

Politics / Re: Will Igbos Be Deported From Nigeria If Biafra Is Declared? by Sweetguy25: 9:19pm On May 31, 2017
ISpiksDaTroof:

How are ibos identified in the North whenever tension breaks out? How are they identified all over Nigeria? Or even when theyre arrested in Indonesia or achieve academic success in the United States?

When immigrants have kids in the U.S and we decide to kick them out we give them the options of taking their kids along, leaving them with authorized relatives, or making them wards of the state.

Its up to you to decide what you want to do at that point. But you can't force your wishes on the State.

A typical Hausa man cannot differentiate between an Igbo and other minority tribes in the south. Same with the Yoruba, every person in eastern Nigeria is an Igbo person to a typical Yoruba person. GEJs presidency can attest to that, Yoruba and hausas were regarded him as an Igbo even when he wasn't. GEJs name is Good luck Ebele Jonathan, it sounds Igbo but it isn't. So when Biafra secedes, you will deport such a person because you think or assume he's igbo?

You're just highly delusional and childish.

Very shallow thinking.

First of all, how will you identify an igbo person to deport? How can you differentiate between a Nigerian Igbo and a Biafran Igbo? What of hundreds of thousands of Nigerians married to Igbos, will the government break up their marriages in order to deport the igbo spouse? What of their kids, will they Igbos or Nigerians?

Answer these questions if you think you're smart.

STILL BROKE
Some of the world’s biggest countries have managed to reduce extreme poverty—except Nigeria
Yomi Kazeem April 21, 2017 Quartz Africa
In this Thursday, Oct. 11, 2011 photo, a woman woman sells plastic bags in a busy market on Lagos Island in Lagos, Nigeria. Lagos is expected to overtake Cairo soon as Africa's largest city. In Nigeria's commercial capital, the population is estimated at 15 million and growing at 6 percent or more each year. Problems with traffic congestion, sanitation and water supplies are staggering; a recent article in UN-Habitat said two-thirds of the residents live in poverty.
Paper chasing.
Despite its vast oil riches and impressive economic growth, Nigeria has struggled to lift its people out of poverty over the past three decades.
That fact stands out in the World Bank’s 2017 Atlas of Sustainable Development Goals, which shows that 35 million more Nigerians were living in extreme poverty in 2013 than in 1990. The Atlas tracks the progress countries are making to meet 17 development goals set out by the United Nations, such as reducing economic inequality, the use of clean energy, and literacy rates. Among the 10 most populous countries for which data is available, only Nigeria recorded an increase in the number of citizens who live in extreme poverty over the period of the study. The Atlas defines “extreme poverty” as living on less than $1.90 a day.

While the ballooning number can be linked to a population surge in Nigeria (the country grew from 96 to 174 million people between 1990 and 2013), this doesn’t fully account for the persistence of extreme poverty in the country. All 10 of the biggest countries in the World Bank’s report also registered population increases over that period, barring Russia. Nigeria’s 81% population increase was dwarfed by Ethiopia, which saw a 96% increase over the same period.
Nigeria’s progress has been significantly impeded by its inability to distribute the country’s immense oil wealth to citizens. This is corroborated by a recent report from the Legatum Institute, a London-based think tank, which measured “prosperity delivery” to citizens in comparison to a country’s actual wealth. Of the 38 countries covered by the research, Nigeria ranked 26th, with the report saying it was “under-delivering” prosperity to its citizens.
Corruption and incompetence are to blame, and last week served up another reminder of how much malfeasance costs the country. Emails leaked by anti-corruption charities Global Witness and Finance Uncovered suggested that a $1.3 billion payment by oil giants Shell and Eni in 2011 for a lucrative but undeveloped Nigerian oilfield never went to the public trust for which it was intended. Instead, almost all of the money (nearly half of that year’s national education budget) was divvied up as kickbacks between high-ranking government officials.
