"The same thing happened to a 13 year old christian igbo girl by the name of Miss Charity Uzoechina two years ago when she was abducted, islamised, raped, married off and forced to remain in the Etsu Nupe’s palace in Minna, Niger state. This was despite the fact that her parents went to the police and authorities and made every effort to get her back. Sadly up till today they have never seen her again."

According to this article, this abductions has been happening for years yet nothing was done by previous Govts or police authorities secure the release of this girls. I guess the era of impunity may truly be over in Naija..

It's most likely not malaria. From about 5weeks, I used to go to bed shivering like a jelly and wake up in the morning with high temperature. But she can do a malaria test to rule out malaria.
Thanks for the comment...

Fever at night or warm temperature at night during early pregnancy is not necessarily a sign of malaria. Some women have it through out their first trimester....I had it too. To confirm if it's malaria, go to a hospital and a test will be carried out...
Thank you for your response, would take her to the clinic for test. Thanks again...

Has she done a test to confirm its malaria? Most mamas here can't suggest medications to take during pregnancy when you've not done a test to confirm. Pls let her do it. Because feeling warm can also be part of the early preggo symptoms

Congrats by the way! smiley
Thanks for the response, she has headache more often plus the very warm temperature made me conclude it could be malaria, would take her to the clinic for test. A nurse friend suggested cloroquine for the malaria, she said its the only malaria drugs recommended for early pregnancy. I didn't buy it though, thanks again.

So sad and completely avoidable circumstance, but truth is some husband/father can be worse than the devil when in a state of rage. A cousin of mine had his lower leap bitten off by his very enraged father because he tried to stop him while he was brutalising his mom. He didn't fight him before the bite attack and didn't fight back after the bite attack. If he was not a patient dude, he would have done something he may regret for the rest of his life. It was his youngest brother that eventually stop the constant attack on their mom by biting up their father mercilessly after another attack on their mom. It was a very stupid thing he did but it got the job done as their father never again laid a hand on their mom.

Well written article, President Buhari has a lot to explain to Nigerians (especially we his diehard supporters) on this Budget sham. He should sack the Minister for Budget and National Planning along with other Ministers who sent in a poorly repaired and corrupt Budget allocation asap. This set of cabinet members may end up making Jonathan corrupt cabinet members look like Saint.. Which way Nigeria? Who is that competent, selfless, man of integrity who can rescue this nation? How can a nation be so blessed with both mineral and human resources but yet so poor economically? How did we get it this wrong, where a few individuals have stolen and keep on stealing the country dry? If President Buhari with his much acclaimed integrity cannot fix at least 30% of all the problems in Nigeria (especially corruption), then i may just give up on this Country ever becoming great. Nigeria polithiefcians (PDP/APC/APGA e.t.c ) are just too heartless and self-centered, they are our own natural disasters.....

This President Buhari no sabi anything. He is not mentally fit to rule this country. First budget is full of confusion.
You are hearing about all this because this National Assembly is doing a good job or maybe because ministers can no longer bribe senators and house of reps members to get their corrupt crazy budget allocation approved like it was done in the past.
Much Credit to President Buhari war on corruption....

Of you think out of the Box yo5y will realize I gave them credit or make I give them debit grin.if you check we are now having shadow ministers. These are the people probing and scrutinizing not the serving ones.we never had this during the PDP era cos APC where too busy looking at thier own selfish interest and aligning with the thieves in PDP to kill the nation therefore turning a blind eye.
The same heavily corrupt PDP govt that has been passing very corrupt crazy budget in the past now forming shadow cabinet ba? Nigeria polithiefcians (PDP/APC) are corrupt and don't have the masses interest at heart. Pres. Buhari made a huge mistake in appointing polithiefcians rather than technocrats as ministers, he should sack them asap. Come to think of it, which ministry has been discovered to have inflated it's budget allocation? The minister should be called out.

You are talking from the other side of your mouth.is it not the strong criticism from both the opposition in the house and the wailers that prompted the close scrutiny
You mean your wailing on nairaland had something to do with this National Assembly doing a good job on the budget? Did the wailing of the opposition and even civil society stop the pdp led National Assembly from passing bogus and unrealistic budget in the past? This National Assembly is doing a great job by thoroughly scrutinizing the budget (unlike in the past), give them credit for that at least.
Politics / Re: National Assembly Postpones Budget Passing Indefinitely by SweetSoup(m): 8:31am On Feb 10, 2016
We now have a National Assembly that is living up to it's responsibilities, unlike in the past where Budget is sent to them and they approve it without proper scrutiny. President Buhari should urgently look into this Budget mess and sack the culprits involved in the scam. As i expected, his cabinet made up of polithiefcians (huge mistake on his part) his destroying his govt with their fraud infested policies. President BUHARI act NOW!!!! Before your internationally recognised and much talked about INTEGRITY is rubbished by the thieves you surround yourself with.. You are very wrong, Buhari is very sick if you dont know and he need to receive treatment, hence, the vacation, it is never a planned vacation. I am a little bit close and i know what i'm saying here.

No need of exposing things anyway
When Yar'dua was sick and always travelling abroad for treatment, did he ever hand over to his vice (Jonathan)? Has any sitting president ever hand over to their vice while going on compulsory leave? Past president never trusted their vice so they prefer handing over the the sgf until they resume. Buhari is setting a good precedent here, this is how it should be done irrespective whether he is going for medical treatment or a well deserved vacation.

Politics / Re: Senate Uncovers N10bn Hidden In Education Budget by SweetSoup(m): 9:13am On Feb 02, 2016
The Senate seem to be living up to its responsibilities in this new dispensation, unlike in previous dispensation were the Senate was an extension of the executive making it to be corrupt (taking bribe from the executive to do its bidding) and toothless. Never has the Senate scrutinize the budget of the country like its doing now, maybe it's body language/odour at play..
