ShowYourCertificate: "Governor Adams Oshiomhole is the first Governor in Nigeria to pay this months’ workers’ salaries."
When did payment of salary become a big deal that people are jubilating and praising the governor. Didn't they not work for it? Was payment of salary ever a big deal in the previous regime of Obasanjo or Yar Adua or even Jonathan. We are really going backwards in this country.
Meanwhile, the FG along with many other states are yet to pay their workers. It is well. This is what you get when a dullard is elected as president. Only God can help us now. November salary wey Ambode don pay since 23th of October..Mtcheeeeeeeeew!!!! |

ExInferis: 1. If they don't keep us updated, the pdp will continue to wail 'witch hunt'. Remember how FFK and Metuh were whipping up sentiment for dasuki and bafarawa before this revelation.
2. EFCC has to interrogate all suspects, investigate all leads, upturn every stone, just to gather enough facts and evidence before prosecution so the tainted judiciary won't dismiss the case on technicalities.
Patience! I agree with your point, i just hope they do a thorough investigation so that this criminals will be nailed in court. |

FG should just arraign this people in court already if they have enough evidence to arraign them with. If they dont have enough evidence, then they should keep their ongoing investigation private away from public until they are ready for trial in court. Am tired of reading how they stole billions on the pages of newspaper or nairaland, without any formal trial or conviction.. |

Two "high-ranking" Fifa officials have been
arrested in dawn raids at a Swiss hotel on
suspicion of accepting millions of dollars of
bribes.
Police swooped on the luxury Baur au Lac
hotel in Zurich, where several Fifa officials
were arrested in May.
A two-day meeting of Fifa's executive
committee is taking place in the city to vote
on reforms.
"Fifa became aware of the actions taken
today by the US Department of Justice,"
football's world governing body said.
"Fifa will continue to co-operate fully with
the US investigation as permitted by Swiss
law, as well as with the investigation being
led by the Swiss Office of the Attorney
General.
"Fifa will have no further comment on
today's developments."
In May, seven Fifa officials were arrested at
the same hotel at the request of a US
investigation into corruption, as the
organisation was engulfed by claims of
widespread wrongdoing.
The Swiss Federal Office of Justice (FoJ)
has said the two people arrested overnight
are alleged to have taken money for selling
marketing rights in connection with football
tournaments in Latin America, as well as
World Cup qualifying matches.
"A further two Fifa officials were arrested in
Zurich today," the Swiss FoJ said on
Thursday.
"They are being held in custody pending
their extradition [to the US]. According to the
US arrest requests, they are suspected of
accepting bribes of millions of dollars."
Swiss officials said they would release the
names of the two arrested people and the
outcomes of the hearings later on Thursday.
A Swiss criminal investigation into the bids
for the 2018 and 2022 World Cups was also
launched earlier this year, alongside the US
inquiry.
Fifa president Sepp Blatter, 79, and Uefa
president Michel Platini, 60, a Fifa vice
president, are currently suspended for 90
days after the Swiss attorney general
opened criminal proceedings against Blatter.
Fifa suspended the pair in October while
Fifa's ethics committee investigates
corruption claims against them. Both deny
wrongdoing.
Shortly after the original Fifa arrests in May,
Blatter announced he would step down as
president in February 2016 after 17 years in
charge, despite having been re-elected the
previous week.
Two of the seven Fifa officials arrested in
May, a then Fifa vice-president, Jeffrey
Webb, and the former head of Brazilian
football, Jose Maria Marin, did not contest
their extradition to the US to face charges.
The other five opposed extradition and are
awaiting appeals against the move.
Analysis: BBC Radio 5 live's Richard
Conway at the Baur au Lac hotel:
"Once again the US authorities have used
the occasion of a Fifa meeting to strike.
"Effectively Fifa is being run by its lawyers
right now. I'm told it's business as normal
for them but the meeting later will now be
dominated by these arrests.
"They will still hold a news conference later.
I'm told there will be an emphasis to say
Fifa are a victim in this - that they are the
victims of actions by individuals and that
Fifa are suffering as a result."

jmichlins: of all the quotes I got regarding this post, your the only one I will honour with a reply. when I say fight for my right, it encompasses, true federalism where every state generates it's money and pays to the center. Nigeria will work when the center is decentralized. When the center is weak, corruptionn will be reduced from the high places. Imagine when the South East can make Ala ojii and Enugu coal power plants starts working, there will be an expontential industriliazation over here. See what Nnewi has become without them and what it will become with steady power. Same goes for people of Aba, most people rioting are people whose business has closed down cause of lack of power. Should we pull resources to build the second Niger bridge, no politician will scam us to vote him into power. These and more are what we need to strugle for not Biafra Good quote my brother, but my question is why didn't the Igbo sell this wonderful idea to Jonathan who was close the easterners? Don't you think it would have been easy convincing Jonathan to either call for a referendum or ask the national Assembly to amend the constitution to reflect true federalism? If the Igbo didn't demand/agitate for Biafra during Jonathan's 5 years tenure (bearing in mind how close he was to them), is it not morally wrong for them to be agitating for biafra barely 6month into buhari's govt? This agitation started immediately Buhari won the election, it became intense after he was sworn in. If the Igbo can be one Nigeria for 5 years under Jonathan, why are they now agitating for Biafra barely 6month into Buhari presidency? |
Politics › Re: Give Us Biafra, All SS/SE Are Saying, Give Us Biafra by SweetSoup(m): 2:48pm On Nov 09, 2015 |
Dbboy: Are you expecting me to answer this question, when a sitting president call a region 5% then every decerning mind would understand we are back to the civil war era where the north feel they can Lord them self on Nigeria and most especially IGBOS that's why we are asking for proper federalism or Biafra by force. My fate should be left in my hand to decide not the FG Hausa/ Fulani man that's all am asking for and about the national conference, why is the North sitting on it or were they not part of the dialog and just because they are now president they decided to toss it away, why are Nigeria not demanding for true federalism simply what IGBOS are clamouring for is freedom to self determination is it too much to ask as a black man, if it is practice all around the would why are we scared of adopting it in Nigeria. @ 55 we can't boast of constant power supply are we cursed no good road, loan facility by our banks are exorbitant, no good hospital 90% of our drugs and things we use in Nigeria are all imported. We are not one when a particular region would clamour for the death of his fellow Nigeria just because they are of diff tribe then there should be rethink of our one Nigeria, when only the Igbo man is seen investing in another region while others anticipate war so as to steal what the Igbo man has toiled for years then there is every reason to rethink our common existence even though I know I have invested heavily in the North. And you expect Buhari to solve all this problem you stated in 6 months? Ipob action is purely based on hate/pain cos Jonathan lost, if Kanu had mobilised his followers during Jonathan tenure the way he is doing now, we wont be having to conversation. PDP ruled for 16years yet couldn't better the country, let us see what Buhari would do in 4years. Our PVC is still valid and would be used to either kick him out or vote him in again. Again i don't hate Igbos or Biafra, peace.. |

Firefire: If you justify stupidity with another stupidity' then where is the promised CHANGE ? I don't believe Buhari is influencing court/tribunal judgement, i do believe he mean well for this country that is why i voted for him not APC. Just give him at least 2 years before criticising, our PVC is still valid in case in fails. |
Politics › Re: Give Us Biafra, All SS/SE Are Saying, Give Us Biafra by SweetSoup(m): 5:44pm On Nov 08, 2015 |
kingzizzy: I don't think you realise that the agitation for Biafra would not have been much harder while a Nigerian president of Southern extraction is in office. Having said that, the agitation for Biafra was on long before GEJ came to office. We all knew about MASSOB and Uwazurike since the days OBJ. Igbos have the right to pull out of Nigeria any time they want I agree and am fully in support of Biafra (as i am in support of NigerDelta Republic), i just don't like Ipob method of agitation. Telling people to arm themselves and prepare for war is not my ideal style of agitation. We should learn from history and not repeat the mistake of before. |

Firefire: Continue your gloating...The future of Nigeria democracy is at stake.
Shalom! It wasn't at stake when 16 was greater than 19? when 5 lawmakers was allowed to impeach a speaker in a house of 21 in Ekiti state? Thank God we saw the back of that govt, give this govt at least 2years b4 you criticise. |
