Until we see real ships and real operations, make we calm down small. Make e no go be another “coming soon” project wey go chop billions and disappear. |
Health › Man Crushed To Death By Wife After She 'stumbled And Fell On Top Of Him' by Swerve4me(op): 9:49pm On Aug 12, 2025 |
A 59-year-old Portuguese man has died after his 15st partner stumbled as she got out of bed and fell on top of him. Neighbours rushed to help after hearing her screams.
A man in Portugal has died after his partner lost her balance and fell on top of him. The man, 59, was described locally as being slight in build and was reportedly smothered to death by his common-law wife, who was a year older and weighed more than 100kg (15st). It is believed she stumbled as she got out of bed to go over to her partner, who was lying on the floor next to her.
The woman’s horrified screams alerted neighbours as she became trapped between the bed and the wall of the couple’s home. They went to her aid during the incident, which occurred in the early hours of yesterday morning. It comes after a mum was left 'traumatised' after a dog walker pushes her in canal as she cycles to work.
They managed to lift her off him but he was already unconscious by the time firefighters and paramedics arrived and the efforts of medical responders to revive him after he went into cardiac arrest proved unsuccessful. The woman’s weight reportedly played a key factor in her inability to get up after she became trapped.
It is not clear how much she weighs but she has been described locally as “obese.” Portuguese daily Correio da Manha said five men had to lift her off her partner.
The freak tragedy happened in the residential district of Campanha on the outskirts of Porto. PSP police officers have investigated but have ruled out foul play and decided it was a freak accident. One source close to the investigation said: “It’s been categorised as an accidental asphyxia. It’s obviously a very unusual death but there was no criminal intent.
It was a stumble by the woman as she got out of bed and tried to move closer to her husband who was lying on the floor that led to what happened.” The unnamed dead man’s partner is understood to have been offered grief counselling. The couple had lived together as man and wife, although they weren’t formally married, for several years according to reports in Portugal.
It comes after six people, including four members of a family with British passports died in a tragic car crash while on holiday in Portugal. https://www.mirror.co.uk/news/world-news/man-crushed-death-heavy-wife-35719143?int_source=amp_continue_reading&int_medium=amp&int_campaign=continue_reading_button#amp-readmore-target

It's amazing how a February post makes the front page in April. Hmmm.
To the main issue at hand now, I have the following submission:
Oga, you seem to be a wealthy person. Wehdone. In this country, most people are poor and hungry, so when they hear this kind of your testimony, they are likely to agree with you; maybe something will drop for the boys. But looking at your story in its entirety, I don't believe you were targeted by kidnappers.
I will also advise you to seek medical care due to your inability to account for events between Dec 28 to 30. Make e no come be say na stroke u been get that time. Stroke can cause sudden death, and some victims will still attribute it to village people (I mean no harm here pls).
In addition, if you don't have more factual evidence that implicates your late relative, ie the one who lost his life in the fatal road mishap; then it's grossly unfair to jubilate over his demise. He may have just been checking on you- maybe something will drop for him.
I don't expect you to agree with everything I've said but I felt I needed to state my stance. |

Enoch07: What kind of mentality abeg? The kain mentality of "we can not challenge our leaders because they no de hear word. Even if we complain, they no go hear". We should be able to demand accountability from our leaders and it's a collective effort. If they know they'll be under immense pressure to deliver or be kicked out, they'll think twice before they take up political posts. These things are easier said than done but can achieve a lot as a country if we can do this. |

Nice result for the Nigerian side. I hope they're able to lift the cup.
But don't read too much into that result. It doesn't mean the Nigerian league is better. Celtic have issues. They've won only one of their last 10 games, and none in the last seven. They lie 12th in a 16 team league, just two points above the relegation zone. |
