it uses and SSD drive, I'm pretty Sure you've got some 64 GB shit on it, you can increase it to 500 but its more expensive than HDD. And Yes you can Install windows on it and use it like a normal windows PC, I have a HP chromebook with 250gb and windows 10 in it.

Corel Draw is a windows application, the only way to run on Linux is either using wine but na unpredictable thing. Just tell the person to buy a laptop. Chromebook is a toy item, you can install WIndows but na long process

I think the best you can do is converting to Android OS. Not sure of windows but you can check extensively on Google.

I'm also having same issue with you.
Just received mine last week as a gift and it's just 16GB and converting to a windows would require I upgrade it to a 64GB and with that everything including the windows 10 installation could mount up to 15k
