Unlimited22: That defence is in a state of emergency. We have no single reliable defender. Adding an experienced center back is paramount as that will help Disasi who seem to be the most passionate defender we have. He just needs someone with experience who can help him improve his positioning. David Alaba would have been perfect if not for his injury. We need another left back too as Chillwell and Cucu shouldn't be trusted at all. I wouldn't mind Theo Hernandez at 45 to 50M and Cucu as back up. We also need a decent right back to compete with Gusto and keep him on his toes. Tino Livramento for 30M won't be bad. My eyes already favors him due to his good recovery pace. The management has a lot of work to do as they should package Fofana, James and Chillwell by giving them careful minutes and ship them to an unsuspecting buyer. At least, their wages and medical bills will be off our books. Chalobah, Gallagher and Broja should be sold to keep us on the positive side of financial fair play. Sterling should be pleaded with to accept a move to Saudi, at least we can get some crumbs from his move. We can enquire from Son to see if he is tired of struggling with Spurs. Acquiring Xavi Simons, Son and those defenders suggested above will put us back on track to compete for major trophies. 5 Likes |

popizaino: How does winning midfielder of the year mean consistency? Work on your logic bro. Kane's time with spurs doesn't fit into my earlier submission about world class players so rest with these counterintuitive epistles. |

8 mentions from Popizaino and they are all incoherent. I wonder how all those meaningless mentions negates what I said. A player who plays for a competitive club capable of challenging for major trophies must show consistent high performance and win trophies for his team. Kane has shown consistent level of high performance for more than 10 years and can be excused for not winning trophies due to not playing for a big team. Obviously, if he played for a big team all these years, he would have had enough trophies. Same Ballack who has won multiple trophies with Bayern and also won the EPL with Chelsea? Is that not a testament to my claim that world class players win trophies with their competitive teams? |

popizaino: You are ridiculous. My opinion is self exploratory to those with an open mind. My initial statement said "As long as the player plays for a team capable of challenging for major trophies ". Kane didn't fall into this category by virtue of playing for Spurs until this season. |

popizaino:You and false equivalence. If you were a lawyer, you will lose all your cases and even get disbarred. You can't have excellent ratings in every game and don't win major trophies. Reason is simple, no one is rated excellently (95%) in a game in which his team lost. |

popizaino: You are being emotional here. I never called Havertz world class. I only identified him as a good player and hoped he will show consistency. |

nihilistjnr: Kane's longevity makes him world class player especially, considering the fact that he was playing for a weak spurs. Even if he doesn't win a trophy with Bayern, you can trust him to remain consistent and win it next season. 4 Likes 1 Share |

popizaino: So because Saka won a penalty against France, that makes his performance on that day better than every Palmer's compilation this season? Shocking claim! Your argument is exhausting because you draw the most absurd false equivalence to defend your claim. Ronaldo who already won a world cup, Copa America, Top scored in la Liga, and won a balon d'or before 1998 world cup is who you are asking me about. He had consistency and major trophies to make him a world class player. You will look for another player and drag this argument to eternity. I can't be responding to weak arguments. |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) / Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Champions Of Europe 2021 by swiz123(m): 12:04pm On Apr 05 |
popizaino: Your argument is so easy to tear apart. But you can be forgiven for not reading along to where I made a clearer definition of a world class player. Two key words define a world class player, consistency in performance overtime and trophies to show for it. As long as one plays for a competitive club, he has to be consistent and also win major trophies to be regarded as world class. So go back to your argument and educate yourself. |

Jodera: He didn't anticipate that Bandiashile will be stupid enough to stay close to him instead of opening up to receive his pass and recycle possession. Later, Bandiashile sent a through ball to Anthony who assisted Garnacho. |

Why not trust the opinion of his managers who always use him and forget about the clowns here who said Chelsea will start competing for the league immediately Jorginho is gone. 2 Likes |

Kimbeast: I don't like engaging in fruitless discourse. That a team win trophies doesn't make all their players world class please. But for a player who has maintained consistent level of high Performance over years and has trophies to show is a worldclass player. Has Folden shown consistent level of high performance over the years? No. Does he have the potential to? Yes. When did Folden become a guaranteed starter sef? Haaland has shown consistency in front of goal even before coming to City and when he joined City which is a competitive team, he now has trophies to show. Of course, he has proven himself to be a world class player. Jorginho reached a very high peak in football and has an Euro and UCL, UEFA player of the year and nearly won a balon d'or. If that is not world class, then I don't know what is. 4 Likes |

afrodoc2: On the contrary, when I watch him, I see nothing. He has no natural winger's flair, not good at passing and poor shooting ability. His first touch is not even tidy sef. I don't see him make defence splitting passes or create something out of nothing. Only plays to the manager's instruction. So when you checkmate the manager, he becomes useless. 1 Like |

Kimbeast: Who said Foden is world class? He has yet to show consistency in performance to be classified as such but the potential is there. Arsenal have no world class player aside Jorginho. When they start winning major trophies, the consistent players amongst them will be judged as world class performers. 1 Like |

Jodera: Actually, I am not being unfair. In these past 3 seasons, which of his performances has taken Arsenal beyond the edge? In those title deciding games, he has been largely underwhelming. I am sure last season's title deciding game vs City at the Etihad is still fresh in your memory. 1 Like |

European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) / Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Champions Of Europe 2021 by swiz123(m): 7:43am On Apr 05 |
Jodera: Read my post calmly. I said as long as a player plays for a big team capable of competing for major trophies and fails to win anything after repeated trials, he can't be regarded as world class. Therefore two things makes a player World class; consistency in performance for at least 5 years or maybe more and trophies to show for it. 1 Like |

I have personally come to observe him vs Chelsea, Liverpool, Man u, Man city, Porto and I saw nothing. These are the type of games I rate players from, not against significantly weaker opposition. |
