My Q5 finally went flat for the 1st tym last nyt, plugged it in n it took very loooong b4 it came on again, so guess its not advisable to allow the BB10 fones run completely flat(my 1st advice on this thread) Big fone matured wahala Buh so far its been great, lyk it came with a "chick magnet" app pre-installed

cupid4ig: @sydney01 dont wasste ur time waiting for glo i bought a q5 last week and it did exactly the same thing slot people said i should pay 5k for cutting the sim and configuring of the phone i told them i dont have that money and they refused to do so it and i bought the phone from them. I put my sim inside it was doing exactly what urs is doing now all i did was to bring out my galaxy tab and connect the hotspot with my airtel sim inside and connect the phone and paam it opened and infront of them i told them that they are very wicked and this will be the last i will ever buy phone or anything from them cos the tab and the bold 5 i was using i bought from them. So just look for a hotspot and connect the phone it will open. I subscribed for mtn bb10 plan and this is the 4th day and they have not bn able to activate it they dont even reply me on twitter again.

walcolm: I didn't have that issue when i bought my z10. When it asked me to connect to a wifi, I had the option to skip and there was no sim in it the first time I switched it on

@Sydney01, my advice would be, put the sim in another phone to be sure the bis has been activated.

Another thing to note is, for bis to work you need to set the APN to BlackBerry.net but a new device won't give you that space to check so a wifi or hotspot would be your most viable option to get the phone up and running

Pheeew. Wz bout uploadn pics of my screen sef b4 I saw denn's comment. No walcom derz no option for skipping internet connection. I think I agree with denn, I think the fone needs a strong connected internet 2 set up, and I just sent "status" 2 777 n received a msg saying my BB subscription is pending(but dey took my cash sinx afternoon). I called again and dey asked 4 my pin n imei saying dey'll 4ward the ish to der wareva department. Mehn I give up, i'll just wait and see what dey'll cum up with or maybe call them once more b4 I sleep. Make I find breakfast chop(yeah its dat bad).

If I switch it on widawt a sim, it prompts me 2 insert a sim to connect 2 a mobile network or connect with wifi. Nah I switched it on when I got it newly and switched it ryt back off. Jst called glo to knw if its cos im not using the BB10 plan and dey said the BB10 plans are just for z10. Im 4kn confused

HELP!!!!! Walcom baba, plss im havin dis ish. I got a micro sim 2day n registered n all. Now I put d sim in my Q5, switched it on and it showed "connecting to a mobile network", den it recognized glo and went ahead 2 display sumtin like " your device is preparing to establish an internet connection". Then it kips loading n loading for long on the same page. I thought twaz cos I hadn't subscribed to a data plan, I did the coweek as u suggested(I put the sim in my oda fone 2 do dis), den I put it back in the BB, same tin is still happening. Please whats wrng?? Is it dat im spozd 2 be on a plan 2 start the fone and it isn't recognizn d coweek plan Biko help out b4 I mad here.

Been using one since March 2013 and I can help you with questions you may have

DATA PLAN

FULL BIS will still work with no problem on all networks

Stay away from 'Social' Plans on all networks....they don't work

COMPLETE plans should work cos it only restricts no of email addresses you can register on BIS but BB10 doesn't handle email with BIS. i use this particular BIS flavor on Glo and Airtel and i can confirm they work flawlessly

UPDATE: I have a first hand experience that Glo BB COMPLETE PLAN work with no problem

New BB10 Data plans,
STAY AWAY from GLO BB10 MIDMONTH plan, it has been placed on 2G network to block video and audio streaming

The great news is BB10 will run on any normal data plan for andriods, iPhone, mifi etc so we dont even need the crappy BB10 plans being introduced by the networks

APPS
To get the very best apps on the BB10 OS, look for apps with the 'BUILT FOR BLACKBERRY' designation.
if you search with those keywords in Blackberry world, you'll see a long list of apps that are in that category

So which plan is advisable to use with Glo on bb10

walcolm: no carrier in Nigeria has implemented the 4G...the highest claim is 3.75G by etisalat..all the others claim only 3.5G..how that displays on your phone is H+

Back to your question, the most cost effective data plan for the BB10 devices (MB:Price ratio) is by Glo and Airtel depending on how fast they are in your area. They allow their vanilla BIS plan to work on BB10 devices. i will suggest the MONTHLY COMPLETE PLAN...

Don't waste your time with MTN and Etisalat unless you're ready to buy their more expensive BB10 data plan
