Does streaming videos or music on BB10 devices still reduce the airtime on one's phone or just data that is affected?
Cos previous models (OS 7 and below) used to do that.

No it doesn't reduce your airtime.it only reduces the data.

Please guys is there anybody here currently using the new N1000 glo Blackberry complete plan on BB10 device. I read here that it's working while some guys outside the forum are arguing that it's no longer working. Pls I need response b4 I throw hard earned money into fire

that's because BBWorld is set by default to not allow excessively large files download using cellular network. just another way Blackberry likes to look out for the interest of the users

BUT

you can change the setting by going to Blackberry World;
SWIPE down from the top;
Select Settings (Gear icon);
Select Network & Data Limits...
Toggle 'Use Wifi Only' off

just open Blackberry World and you should receive a prompt that you have upgrades available

3GB is the data limit for GLO BIS. the data limit for the "dedicated BB10" plan is 1.5GB however

to update your BB10 to the 10.1MR, you need a wifi connection if your BB is not allowing you to use your cellular data

my bad...yeah of course there's a difference....2G is EDGE, a slower and older data transmission technology...4G typically refers to LTE which is the latest in mobile data transmission technology but is not yet implemented in Nigeria. the best is currently at 3.75G (H+) and that is not even widespread

like someone just mentioned below, 2G speed places less demand on your phone due to restricted and slower data transmission so if you are going to be without a charging point for a significant length of time, you can drop down to 2G to conserve battery life

There is no difference in normal voice calls and sms facilities it is when downloading there is a significant difference and it's advisable to leave ur phone in 2G when u aren't surfing the Web or downloading to save battery life and prevent the phone from getting hot

a bit of awesome news this morning...you have heard of Blackberry BetaZone ( a place exclusively for BB enthusiasts and geeks to test the latest apps before they are released to the wider public)

well its now available in app form...the biggest thing being tested right now is BBM Channels (the improvement over BBM group)

if you are interested, follow this link (preferably from your BB10) to download the app

once it installs, open and create a new BlackBerry Zone account using your current BBID and you should see a list of apps in beta that you can rock out

Mehn I'm waiting till the official release...don't want to spoil the surprise Btw I just downloaded the bbm that has channels today. Couldn't wait any longer. Let me see how long I go before I have to cave into one of these leaks
