I think if you are passionate about anything and you want to help people; entertain, inform, or educate them, then you should be a blogger. To be straight-to-the-point, as to not bore those that are bloggers already and for the benefit of those that do not know about it. As a blogger, you write and you post your write-ups with or without pictures, you could even do videos. Now, this is why I decided to write this piece. Below is what you need to have at the back of your mind to be a blogger and if you are a blogger and have missed them, its never too late. These are facts from successful bloggers. 1. It should not be about the money, but about the passion. 'Leave story for storytellers' right? Well frankly, you can become rich blogging. But you wouldn't last and will eventually give up, if the 'mulla' was what drove you into blogging. 2. Be yourself, it may be difficult competing with the big guns, so find your own unique voice. Tell the story, everyone loves a good story. Do this - think creatively instead of competitively. 3. Try to not make it ALL about you. That's if the blog is about you and things you do. Engage. If you want an audience, and then want to keep an audience, engage with them. This should show in your skill with words. I don't mean big words. Make a reader feel like he/she is in a room with you listening to what you are saying. Just try. 4. Never stop learning. There's always something new out there. Become well versed in multiple skill sets. Everything matters - experience, research skills, how to do this or that; bring in all as a blogger. 5. See eh, you can actually blog for very long years and only your family and a few friends will read or visit your blog. It could get to you, especially when you had hoped to start making money at some point from it, at least to pay for hosting na. I am a Nigerian and my sincere advice is, "try to lay your hands on a job that allows you time for your blog". 'Not so many', I know. But you must not blog everyday na. Simply, in some of your posts try to make your readers know the reason for the delays and how you are working hard to provide them with contents on your blog. That way if someone visits your blog for one, two days and no new content, the person won't say - "this blogger thinks owning a website is owning a facebook account". 6. Do not make mistakes in your posts, it just pisses readers off!!. 'You wan blind person? Nobody is chasing you, go through your post. A fellow writer may tolerate it, knowing the stress sometimes, but no reader will. In short, they will wonder who you want to enlighten with your 'see-and-go-blind'. Marry your dictionary and improve your vocabulary. Most of us do not know that 'unserious' is incorrect. Remember, 'quality not quantity'. 7. Do not write what you are not interested in. May be just to attract huge traffic, you 'dive' into what is popular, but doesn't really interest you. Chances of you getting a good post out there is slim, because there isn't any interest. You will only bore your readers and make them see that you are actually struggling to write. They will erase 'visiting your blog' from their minds and run to who is doing it well. 8. Networking should be your biggest priority. If you are a blogger, statements like 'I don't know how to maintain relationships' should be the last thing that should come out of your mouth, let alone 'I don't like making new friends'. If this is your case, then you see that 'very long years' I said in No 5, add 'very very'. If you don't know how to, learn. 9. Check blogger.com and to learn and start blogging. People can be cruel, they can register your domain - that is, take away the and wordpress, as theirs, when they see that your blog is promising. So you may have to do that yourself sooner than you thought. Source : www.edondo.com/2015/08/read-this-if-you-are-a-blogger-or-want-to-be-a-blogger |
Dj jimmy Jatt while speaking to Hiptv News has shone light on the issue critics have been hammering on - "why don't the headies have a dj category". Obviously Dj fans would love to see their favourite Djs bag some awards and definitely more recognised. So far, it doesn't seem so, as series of the Headies award have gone on without recognition whatsoever to super Djs. As part of the Headies Award Committee, Dj Jimmy Jatt has revealed that the Headies award is currently for the musicians and not "music supporters" as he grouped the Dj's, Entertainment writers (me), TV/Radio presenters and Promoters. He explained that presenting awards to the Dj's would also require same to be done to the "other" music supporters. He further said though presenting awards to the music supporters is a good thing and will definitely contribute to the growth of the Naija music industry, it is still something that "will" be considered. Hoops!! Glad I finished that part. Now!! If you recall, there had been a buzz on social media when Dj Jimmy was asked if he could perform in a gay show. Well, trust celebrities-turning-to-politicians. This was how he cleared the air. He said he doesn't go to a show, sees people gathered and starts asking them if they are straight or gay, muslims or christians; he just goes on and does what he was paid to do - play music and make people dance. He also noted that gay or straight, they all dance the same way,; concluding with - "that is professionalism to me". Premium times has reported that 'In what appears a crafty attempt to arm twist the office of the Attorney General of the Federation and force his release from prison custody, where he has been remanded on the orders of the Court of Appeal, embattled former managing director of the Nigerian Security Printing and Minting Company, Emmanuel Okoyomon, has approached Justice Valentine Ashi of the Federal Capital Territory High Court with an exparte motion seeking his release from prison. Lawyers call the suspect’s application Writ of Habeas Corpus Ad Subjiciendum.' Justice Chukwu had earlier on May 4, ordered the extradition of Mr. Okoyomon to the United Kingdom to face charges of corruption and money laundering. The U.K. seeks the extradition of Mr. Okoyomon over his alleged role in the bribery scheme allegedly executed between 2006 and 2008. Mr Okoyomon's journey of worry began in October 1, 2009 launch of the polymer bank notes in Nigeria, which saw the N5, N10, and N50 notes remade in polymer material as against the original paper version. A scandal later broke that CBN and NSPM officials received bribes to effect the switch to polymer. NEXT, the now rested Nigerian newspaper, had reported extensively how Securency Pty, a bank note printing company owned by the Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA), engaged in a series of bribery schemes to secure polymer note printing jobs. According to the paper, as well as an Australian newspaper, The Age, at least N750 million was paid in bribes to some Nigerian officials between 2006 and 2008 to secure the contract which saw to the initial supply of about 1.9 billion pieces of polymer substrates on which bank notes were printed. Fans have given Kim Kardashian a reason to change hustle strategy as her book of selfies, 'Selfish', has sold only 32,000 copies since it was released 3 months ago on May 5. With 41.4 million followers, Kim is the 2nd most popular celebrity on Instagram, after Beyoncé, so you'd think her book will sell out. Fans who've been happy to see her selfies for free haven't been too eager to spend $9.97 to buy the book. She had earlier released 500 limited edition copies of her book on gilt.com and they all sold out for $60 in one minute. Now obviously fans have gotten bored of the *lubbish** #pleasechangehustle It's surprising because when she released , they were sold on Gilt.com for $60 each in Apriil, in just one minute. - LIB Source: www.edondo.com/2015/08/boring-st-kim-kardashians-selfie-book-selfish-has-only-sold-32000-copies |
A United States Congressman, Darrel Edward Issa, has suggested that there is a link between the Boko Haram sect and oil bunkering. Issa, who spoke at a press conference in Abuja Tuesday, said the sect could be getting its funding from illicit trade of oil in the international market. He also urged the Federal Government to end corruption in the sector to address the insurgency. The congressman is visiting Nigeria as head of a U.S Congressional Delegation to the country. He said, “As long as billions of dollars in oil is being sold, you have a black market that funds many things, Boko Haram can be a clandestine beneficiary of that money. Some of these areas are within the power of the Nigeria government, so when they end corruption they may also reduce the flow of that kind of money that goes into sponsoring terrorism.” Speaking on the readiness of U.S to assist the country in tackling insurgency and boosting the military capacity, Issa added “this is a military that was allowed to fall into disrepair during the previous administration, there is no denying that. When morale is low, training is low and when the training is low the troops are not prepare to win. The use of South African mercenaries said a great deal about the end of the last administration, and the condition of the military. The US has been involved in training the Nigerian military and ready to do a great deal more. “The number one thing we can bring to this government is professionalising training both in the skill necessary to kill and the appropriate action when they capture and take a community and both are our most important contributions and we also apply technical capabilities. source: www.edondo.com/2015/08/illicit-oil-sales-could-be-funding-boko-haram-us-congressman |
Lenny Kravitz made fans' dreams come true during his Stockholm concert last night! While performing in Sweden Monday evening, the super-sexy singer accidentally split his pants and flashed his bare penis to hundreds of concertgoers. The 51-year-old hunk was rocking out on stage when he dropped down to the ground. The move proved too much for his skintight leather pants, however, and the crotch ripped open as he sang. One fan got a bird's-eye photo of Kravitz's manhood dangling out of his pants. Source: www.edondo.com/2015/08/what-lenny-kravitz-splits-his-pants-and-flashes-penis-during-stockholm-concert-picture

More than 2,000 believed to have died so far this year trying to make the desperate journey for better life in Europe. The International Organization for Migration (IOM) says that about 188,000 people have been rescued so far this year while trying to make their way to the old continent through the world's most dangerous migrant route. The IOM says the 200,000-mark could be crossed by the end of the week. These Mediterranean boat migrants have risked theft, rape, humiliation, torture and racketeering for reaching shores of Europe only to lose their lives to the eye of the storm. Posted on www.edondo.com E don do. Yes the title says it all. With so much work pumping into our music industry. One can't help but notice the huge number of tracks promoting our Nigerian languages and cultures. Olamide and Phyno are definitely the pillars of indigenous hip hop and they have done so much in bringing awareness to the "yoruba" and "igbo" languages. We can also notice Ikpa Udo repping with "Ibibio". Other musicians are doing same. While these artistes are playing their parts, the only problem we seem to be having is the educational sector. Our schools do not make these languages mandatory. At the primary, secondary and tertiary level, learnng our languages( at least one) should be mandatory. We should know that our language is our history, culture and future. And losing it means losing NIGERIA. And one more thing.. Our official language is "English language" only... Na we get am? Here’s 5 common signs that you’re drinking too much, and need to get your habit under control. 1. You make drinking a priority Whilst having a drink to relax can be healthy, there’s always a time and place. Alcohol should never become a priority in your life. When you start neglecting important responsibilities, either because you’re hungover or drunk, you’re entering dangerous territory. Remember, alcohol should work around your day-to day life. It shouldn’t disrupt it. 2. You go hard on the weekends For those working 9-5 jobs, Friday is a great time to unwind, socialise, and perhaps get a little tipsy. Although moderate alcohol consumption can benefit your health, as it prevents diabetes and heart disease, drinking regularly but not daily can be hazardous, as it encourages bingeing behaviour. Even if you avoid alcohol for the rest of the week, it only takes one heavy night to make abstaining pointless, and negate any potential health benefits. In the grand scheme of things, drinking a glass of wine once a day is far healthier than 8 on Friday. 3. You lose your memory Excessive alcohol consumption interferes with a neurotransmitter called glutamate, which plays an essential role in memory. That’s why benders can often leave you with blank spots, where you lose all relocation of where you are, what you did, and why there’s a traffic cone in your bedroom. Since memory loss is only associated with heavy drinking, it’s a sure sign that you hit the sauce too hard, and probably need to calm down. 4. Your friends and family are worried It’s difficult to see yourself from an outside perspective. Unless you’ve got excellent self-awareness, you might not realise you’ve got a problem, or be willing to admit it. In most cases, the first people to intervene will be your family and friends. If your loved ones are concerned about the amount you drink, this is giant warning sign that you’re going overboard. Remember, they only have your best interests at heart. Take a step back and cut down. 5. You drink to get drunk Ideally, you should never drink enough to become seriously drunk, as this impairs your judgement, motor skills and cognitive abilities. A nice buzz can lower inhibitions, and make socialising easier. However, you should never drink with the express purpose of getting drunk, as this always leads to "excessive drinking" behaviour. Besides, where’s the fun in being horribly plastered? - mindthemunchies Source http://www.edondo.com/2015/07/5-warning-signs-youre-drinking-too-much |

Posted on www.edondo.com E don do. Nigeria's Only criticism website. Really? Dialogue with Boko Haram? Coming from a Nigerian leader. Well, I don't know why I am not too surprised. This same Boko Haram with past, current and future killings? Though no one supports violence, but at least we can reason with the Niger Delta Militant Group. They said they were been exploited, there lands and people suffering as a result of heavy oil exploration activities in the Niger Delta area. They demanded compensation and sustainable development in their communities; they used violence, which is bad, but we shouldn't forget their reason. Ok! Boko Haram! Please could someone remind me what is it they're fighting for again? - Abolishing of Western Education and Implementation of the Shariah Law in Nigeria. And you want to dialogue with them? Ha ba!! Everybody selling ooo, just throwing stuffs they're selling at you, because they jealous you having a relationship with a girl? - na all of dem get d girl? - so unrealistic!! Middle scene: He meets the girl despite all obstacles and hating - flying things at the market; and they start holding hands and all the market people surrounded them. A dry scene follows: cloudy scene with lightning and Reekado doing the normal and girl is just waving hands and all, like she's trying to cut through the cloud. End scene: Everything rewinds.... Ah ah... Mavins.. The song doesn't deserve this video naa. Compare to Korede's Godwin... What's ur take? The story the song tells is better understood without the video!! SEE PICTURE OF LETTER: http://www.edondo.com/2015/07/eminem-has-written-a-letter-to-tupac-shakurs-mom-picture-of-letter There's no denying that Eminem has made a dent in the hip-hop game since he stepped on the scene, but he made sure to let one very important person know that rap legend Tupac Shakur was partially to thank for his success. The rapper, penned a heartfelt letter to 2pac's mother, Afeni Shakur, which is currently on display at the Tupac Amaru Shakur Center for the Arts in Stone Mountain, Ga. E! News has confirmed that this is legit. (Which brings us to this quick side note: How incredibly neat is Eminem's handwriting? No, seriously. It should be it's own font. Color us impressed!) "When I was feeling at my worst, I knew I could put that Tupac tape in, and suddenly things weren't so bad. Thank you for giving us his spirit and yours! God bless you!" Em writes in the letter to Afeni, which can be read in its entirety above. Slim Shady also praised Afeni for being so warm to the rapper, writing, "Thank you for being so kind to me. You are a true Queen, and I mean that in every sense of the word. I will never forget the opportunities you have given me." He included a drawing he created of Pac with his signature bandana, and signed it,"To Afeni, Your friend 4-ever! Marshall" Looks like Em's talents expand beyond spittin' some hard-hitting bars. Can you imagine? Can you imagine a world without pre- marital sex. I sat one day pondering what our world would have felt like or looked like if nothing like that ever existed. These are my findings from my thoughts. 1. No STD. Can you imagine our world without STD. There will be nothing like John infected me with blablabla. We might have had little cases of HIV. Most people wouldn't have to fight each other because of them. I just lost a close relative to AIDS recently and honestly sex is not worth it. It is not worth the pain and anguish we felt letting go of such a sweet lovely promising lady. Till we meet again lovely sis (RIP). Some of these veneral diseases do not have symptoms for a very long time and renders some people impotent and childless in marriage. Yes, they say use condoms but why will I have to leave my life to the mercy of a mere little rubber. If you have ever had unprotected sex before and you are to go for a HIV test, you know how scared you feel. You can never tell if the next lady you will be with is infected. 2. Fewer disappointments For men it wouldn't be a big deal. They can have sex with any woman without even feeling a thing for her. But for women they have sex with only people they feel a connection with, Sex is emotional for us. It is a spiritual worship. It is mental. Maybe we wouldn't have had the number of broken women we have now. When sex has been involved in a relationship and it is broken the pain is greater and has more impact on the person. It will be easy to let go and move on from a bad relationship when sex is not involved. You know there are soul ties actually formed during sex. When you have sex with someone you take a part of them with you whether you like it or not. Just imagine you being joined with all the cute guys and ladies you have ever had sex with. *coversface*. Some of us will be having a long chain of men and women attached to us. 3. No BABY MAMA, BABY DADDY drama. Just imagine the rate of baby mama's we are beginning to have, if there was nothing like sex may be we all would have been married before having kids. We would have fewer kids from single parents. Every child needs a complete family to function well with, every father has a great influence on the child so does every mother. You know some say a woman can be everything to a child but a woman can never be a man or do the job of a father in the life of the child. We will pay with great pains the vacuums we are creating with single parenting. I did a research on single parenting and the effects on children's academic performance and I can say that it is not advisable to follow the trend. But the more we do married peoples stuff the more we create incomplete families. 4. No need for Abortion. You know if there was nothing like sex we wouldn't be talking about unwanted pregnancies and unwanted babies. Every child will be seen as accepted and loved. We all will be given a chance to live from birth. We all have to right to be given birth to. Abortion is not only dangerous health wise, it leaves a psychological vacuum on the mother. Finally, with all these said I know I wouldn't be able to change the world but you reading this can change a lot of things. You can change you and in turn change your world. True love waits, Yes it does. Source: http://www.edondo.com/2015/07/a-world-without-sex |

A compensation fund set up for victims of faulty ignition switches in General Motors vehicles has concluded that the defect was responsible for 124 deaths and 266 injuries. GM to apologise to families of victims The fund, run by attorney Kenneth Feinberg, has finished processing the 4,342 claims it received by the Jan. 31 deadline. Of those, 91 percent were deemed ineligible or deficient. Claimants could not appeal Feinberg's decision. Victims' families are being offered compensation of at least $1m each, according to the Associated Press news agency. GM recalled More than 8 million Chevrolets and other small cars last year but acknowledged it knew about the ignition switch problems for more than a decade. As of March 31, GM had paid $200 million to settle claims filed with Feinberg. The company has said it expects to pay up to $600 million. Any claimants who accept compensation will waive the right to sue GM. Criminal charges In June 2014 the company said it had sacked 15 employees over their role in the scandal and announced it would set up the fund for victims. An internal investigation blamed the debacle on engineering ignorance and bureaucratic dithering, and denied a deliberate cover-up. GM paid a record $35m fine for failing to promptly report the bad ignition switches to US federal highway safety regulators. Last month, the Wall Street Journal newspaper reported that US federal prosecutors were considering bringing criminal charges against the company.
