Omo make I no lie, Cabo Verde might just be the most entertaining and organized African team right now, and for a nation with such a tiny population to pull of these feats... that is massively impressive. Word on the street is that Eric Chelle is likely leaving before the AFCON Qualifiers. I've done my investigation and close sources are telling me that "you know who" are deeply unsatisfied with Eric Chelle's demands and have no intention to even negotiate, talk less of renewing his contract.

Of course take this with a grain of salt but right now I'm so livid.

Right now there's nothing from Chelle's body language (even though I'm not a body language expert) or from his social media cues that suggests Chelle is leaving, at least I check his IG from time to time and he still posts about the Super Eagles. My hope is that he is using this summer world cup to work out his contract situation with NFF while still scouting for new players ahead of the AFCON September qualifiers. What I'm hearing from trusted sources is that NFF will extend Chelle's contract and meet at least majority of his demands, NFF know they can't afford to draw the rage and discontent of Nigerian fans by daring not to retain his contract especially in the wake of their rubbish that has cost us another world cup: therefore what I'm hearing is that some elements within the NFF ars holding out on the contract extension until the NFF elections this September.

Ibrahim Gusau knows that his time is up but wants to use the Eric Chelle contract delay as a leverage to retain his presidency come September at the NFF, but there's a Kunle Soname who owns Remo stars and is heavily tipped as the favorite candidate for the NFF position. Right now it's just underhanded politics going on ahead of that September election, after the elections are over and regardless on who emerges as NFF president, Chelle is expected to the retained since the NFF stakeholders and big-wigs are satisfied with his coaching records and popularity among Nigerian fans.

The African teams at the world cup will be world cup tested when the next AFCON starts, even qualifiers will be brutal, teams like Cape Verde will become more confident in their ability to upset any of the top African sides...while the likes of Morocco, Ivory Coast, Senegal etc will keep getting better.

Yan Diomande is the most valuable African player on the market today and for good reasons. Brilliant and powerful two-way winger. He against Zaidu is a mismatch in terms of High-end technicality meeting low-end technicality but in terms of raw power and speed, it may shock you to know that Zaidu will keep up with Diomande. In a foot race, it is hard for most fast wingers to beat Zaidu.

An example of this footrace/power matchup is Edmund Tapsoba vs Yan Diomande in the Bundesliga this past season. Leverkusen won 4-1. Tella scored. Tapsoba is one of the fastest CBs in world football and playes LCB in Leverkusen's 3 man defence that day so he came up against Diomande on a good number of occasions helping Grimaldo (LWB) too. Yan struggled that day.

I hear you boss... but I'm NEVER willing to take my chances on such a match up on a Zaidu vs Diomande battle regardless, especially in a crucial game for that matter. Zaidu can run as fast as a Cheetah for all he wants in a foot-race slug against a Diomande, the fact remains he's just not good enough for the standard we're trying to set in our darling Super Eagles going forward, that was the whole point of my thinking out loud imagination.

I just dey imagine a wing battle between Diomande vs Zaidu in a knockout game at the AFCON, imaginations like that dey make me even laugh at myself...Chelle really needs to drop some players for good and clean up that team walahi.

The Japanese spirit of being relentless and dogged is not new and it reflects in all their lives, they will literally fight to the death than surrender. During WW2, the Japanese were the last to surrender and many of them kept fighting in isolated jungles and islands even years after the war had ended in a German and Japanese defeat.

I've always admired Japanese football, very technical and smooth to watch, definitely one of my favorite teams in this tournament.
