Before this tournament I made up my mind to hatewatch all other African teams, partly due to jealousy of not qualifying and partly because the majority of them in the recent past (AFCON 2023, WCQ playoffs etc) don't wish us well or even give us credit when we're winning.

On that note, I'm conflicted. I'm happy to see other African teams leave but I can't deny that our performance in this World Cup is a huge cause for concern. Because what do you mean you can dominate matches but you can't close them out? This is three fking matches back to back!

Ivory Coast dominated Norway
DR Congo dominated England in the first half
Senegal you were leading by two goals for 80+ mins! Two fking goals!! What do you mean you're losing 3-2!?!

South Africa was the only exception as they were simply trash all through against Canada

Whether you're hate watching or not, this should be a huge cause for alarm. There's something not quite right with African teams' mentality when it comes to performing on the global stage.

I'd prefer we got completely trounced and outplayed like majority of the AFC teams than for us to keep losing like this.

How noble of you, as for me I feel numb to every African team in this tournament so I could care less if all of them go home. Only African team I'm somewhat emotionally locked in for is Cape Verde, and that's because I always love a Cinderella story in every big tournament especially for tiny debutant nations punching above their weight. Besides Cape verde I dey no follow una do all that African solidarity cause they don't really like you as a Nigerian anyway.

I think it's not a stereotype when Europeans demean us for having subpar mental acuity, it hurts but it's the truth.

This comparison isn't fair as they've not played their third round of games as Morroco too were on 2 goals before scoring 4 this evening to take it to 6.

True sha, but it's just the already established pattern of football from those 2 teams that suggests they might not even score any goals in their next games. DRC are in a more desperate need of points to qualify to the next round so they will definitely attack more and score more goals against Uzbekistan.

So far only Ghana and DRC are the low scoring African teams with 2 goals between them in all group stage games played so far.

Omo make I no lie, Cabo Verde might just be the most entertaining and organized African team right now, and for a nation with such a tiny population to pull of these feats... that is massively impressive. That's one nation I definitely hope we don't meet in the AFCON, I trust a Chelle coached team to always weather any storm, but there's no shame in saying I don't want any smoke with Cape Verde right now.

Truly Tunisia is the weakest team among Africa representative. Waste of slot.Burkina Faso , Mali ,Nigeria or Cameroon would have done better . But this is football. This same Tunisia team didn't concede any goal during the qualifiers.

I mean did you see their group? I can't wrap my head around how they keep getting the luck of the draw when they've consistently been abysmal at every world cup they go to.

Tunisia qualifying to this world cup was an utter waste of CAF space, even Namibia would have performed better than this...if buying a spot was legal walahi Naija should have put in a bid for their spot.
