Literature / Comparing Soyinka With Chimamanda Is Mischievous And Suicidal by synw: 5:28am On Apr 12, 2023
COMPARING SOYINKA WITH CHIMAMANDA IS MISCHIEVOUS AND SUICIDAL – CONFERENCE OF SOUTHWEST WRITERS
The Conference of Southwest Writers has issued a statement cautioning against the comparison of Wole Soyinka and Chimamanda Adichie, saying that such comparison is mischievous and suicidal. The statement comes in response to recent social media posts by a group called the "Obidients" who have been comparing the two Nigerian literary giants.
This was contained in a press statement issued by the Coordinator of the group, Wole Adedoyin in Ibadan on Wednesday.
The catalyst for Soyinka's intervention in the ongoing debate was an interview on Channels TV by the Vice-Presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Datti Baba-Ahmed, in which he made uncomplimentary remarks about the Nigerian judiciary. Soyinka was quick to upbraid Baba-Ahmed for his comments and cautioned against the use of words that smack of fascism.
Chimamanda Adichie, on the other hand, has been a vocal critic of the Nigerian government and its policies. Her recent letter to President Joe Biden, in which she called for his intervention in the aftermath of the February 25 presidential election, has generated a lot of controversy and debate.
Since the publication of Adichie's letter, some Obidients have taken to social media to compare her with Soyinka, with some even going as far as to suggest that she is a better writer and activist than Soyinka. The Conference of Southwest Writers has warned against such comparisons, noting that they are not only mischievous but also suicidal.
According to the Conference of Southwest Writers, Soyinka's contributions to Nigerian and African literature are far greater than those of Adichie. Soyinka, who won the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1986, is widely regarded as one of Africa's greatest writers. His work has had a profound impact on African literature and culture, and he is an inspiration to many young writers. It is also important to note that Soyinka has been a strong advocate for democracy and good governance in Nigeria, and his interventions in national discourse have always been based on sound reasoning and a deep understanding of the issues at stake.
Chimamanda Adichie, on the other hand, is still a rising star in the literary world. While she has achieved considerable success and critical acclaim for her work, including the Orange Prize and the MacArthur Fellowship, she is still a relatively young writer with much to prove. Comparing her to Soyinka is therefore premature and unwise.
The Conference of Southwest Writers has also noted that Soyinka's contributions to Nigerian literature and culture go beyond his writing. He has been a strong voice for social justice and democracy in the country, and his interventions in national discourse have helped to shape the country's political landscape.
The Conference of Southwest Writers also emphasized the need for caution in using social media to express opinions about sensitive issues. While social media can be a powerful tool for communication, it can also be a breeding ground for misinformation and divisive rhetoric. The Society urged Nigerians to be mindful of the impact of their words and to use social media responsibly.
The Conference of Southwest Writers further called on Nigerians to show respect for both Wole Soyinka and Chimamanda Adichie, and to recognize the important contributions that both writers have made to Nigerian and African literature. They also called on the Obidients to desist from comparing the two writers and to refrain from using social media to spread harmful and divisive messages.
The Conference of Southwest Writers (COSW) is a literary organization based in Nigeria, which promotes literature and literary culture in the southwestern region of the country. The organization was founded in 2022 by a group of writers and literary enthusiasts with the aim of promoting literature and literary culture in the region. COSW holds an annual conference, which includes panel discussions, book launches, and other literary events. The conference also awards prizes for outstanding literary works. The organization also has a mandate to promote the study of literature and to encourage the development of literary talents among young people in the region.

WOLE ADEDOYIN EMERGES NEW PRESIDENT OF THE INTERNATIONAL WRITERS ASSOCIATION
The emergence of Wole Adedoyin as the President of the International Writers Association (IWA) is a significant development in the literary world. As a respected literary activist, art administrator and a member of the association, Adedoyin is well-equipped to lead the body into a new era of growth and development. His appointment is particularly important given the recent dissolution of the IWA (read the dissolution on the official website of the IWA at http://www.internationalwritersassociation.com/) and the subsequent decision by the African Block of the association to continue operating under the IWA name.
Adedoyin's appointment as the new President of the IWA comes at a time when the association is undergoing significant changes. The dissolution of the association has created a power vacuum that needs to be filled. As the acting President of the association, Adedoyin has a unique opportunity to steer the affairs of the IWA in a new direction and promote the interests of writers all over the world.
One of the key challenges facing Adedoyin as the new President of the IWA is to rebuild the association's membership and reputation. The dissolution of the association has raised concerns among many writers and literary critics about the future of the IWA. Adedoyin will need to work closely with other stakeholders of the association to reassure members and the public that the IWA remains committed to its mission of promoting the interests of writers worldwide.
Another important task for Adedoyin as the new President of the IWA is to strengthen the association's partnerships with other literary organizations and institutions. The IWA has a long history of collaborating with other organizations to promote the interests of writers and advance the cause of literature. Adedoyin will need to build on these partnerships and establish new ones to ensure that the IWA remains a relevant and effective voice for writers around the world.
Adedoyin's appointment also presents an opportunity for the IWA to expand its reach and influence in Africa and other parts of the world. As a Nigerian writer and literary critic, Adedoyin brings a unique perspective and experience to the position of the IWA President. He is well-placed to promote the interests of African writers and ensure that their voices are heard on the global stage.
Adedoyin's leadership is expected to bring a renewed sense of purpose and direction to the IWA. He is known for his passion for literature and his commitment to promoting the interests of writers around the world. As a result, his appointment has been greeted with enthusiasm by many members of the IWA, who see him as a capable and dedicated leader.
One of Adedoyin's main priorities as President of the IWA is to increase membership and participation in the association. This will require reaching out to writers and literary organizations in different parts of the world and developing strategies to promote the IWA's activities and programs. Adedoyin has already demonstrated his ability to mobilize writers, having successfully launched the Nigerian chapter of the IWA under his leadership.
Another key area of focus for Adedoyin is to promote the rights and welfare of writers. This includes advocating for better pay and working conditions for writers, as well as promoting the freedom of expression and protecting the intellectual property rights of writers. Adedoyin has been a vocal advocate for these issues and is expected to continue his advocacy in his new role as President of the IWA.
Adedoyin's appointment is also significant in the context of the IWA's history. The association has been in existence for over 25 years and has played a key role in promoting the interests of writers around the world. Adedoyin's leadership will be critical in ensuring that the IWA continues to play this role in the years to come.
As a Nigerian, Adedoyin's appointment is also significant in terms of promoting diversity and inclusivity in the IWA. Africa has a rich literary tradition and a growing number of writers who are making their mark on the global stage. Adedoyin's appointment as President of the IWA sends a strong message that the literary contributions of Africa and its writers are valued and recognized.
Adedoyin's appointment is also significant in terms of promoting the use of indigenous languages in literature. As a writer who has published works in both English and Yoruba, Adedoyin is a strong advocate for the promotion of indigenous languages and their use in literature. His leadership is expected to promote the use of indigenous languages in literary works and to encourage the translation of literary works into different languages.
Adedoyin's appointment is also likely to have a positive impact on the literary scene in Nigeria and Africa as a whole. As President of the IWA, Adedoyin will have access to resources and networks that can be leveraged to promote the interests of Nigerian and African writers. This is expected to lead to increased opportunities for Nigerian and African writers to showcase their work and to access international markets.
Wole Adedoyin is a prominent Nigerian writer and literary activist with a wealth of experience in the field of creative writing and literary arts. He is an alumnus of the Study Abroad in Lebanon (SAIL) program, a collaborative initiative between the Wole Soyinka Foundation, Notre Dame University, Louaize, and Cedars Institute, Lebanon.

The Nigerian Book Fair Trust (NBFT) and the Nigerian Publishers Association (NPA) have both praised President Muhammadu Buhari for signing into law the Copyright Bill, which provides for the regulation, protection, and administration of copyright. This new legislation is a landmark initiative that offers significant leeway in the continuing drive to protect the intellectual property of Nigerian creative sector players, of which the book ecosystem features most prominently.
The NBFT and the NPA in different statements issued by their Presidents, Dare Oluwatuyi
Chairman, Nigerian Book Fair Trust and Uchenna Cyril Anioke President/Chairman-in- Council, Nigerian Publishers Association (NPA) have both noted the great potential of the new law to promote the climate for innovation overall, as well as boost the capacity of the book trade to contribute even greater volumes of revenue and lawful employment to the Nigerian economy and for Nigerians. According to them, the new law also lays the groundwork for the restoration and improvement of the image of Nigeria as a nation that is demonstrably desirous of improving its copyright climate.
The new law is also expected to encourage more foreign investments in the creative industry even as it enhances the country's international reputation. They have appealed to all and sundry to support this initiative for the betterment of all and also appealed to book pirates to desist from their nefarious acts, as it would not be business as usual for them, with this new Copyright Amendment Bill.

IBADAN BOOK CLUB URGES GOVERNOR SEYI MAKINDE TO RENOVATE AND EQUIP OYO STATE LIBRARY TO PROMOTE READING CULTURE AND EDUCATION
The Ibadan Book Club has expressed their concern about the state of the Oyo State Library and have called on Governor Seyi Makinde to renovate and equip it. The Oyo State Library Board, which came into existence in 1955, was established to provide qualitative library services to the people of the Western Region and to encourage a reading culture among school children.
Historically, the Oyo State Library Board was known as the Western Regional Library and was established by the Western Government led by Chief Obafemi Awolowo. The library was created to complement the government's efforts to improve the educational standard in the region, particularly through the provision of free primary education.
Over the years, the Oyo State Library has faced several challenges, including inadequate funding and a lack of modern equipment and facilities. This has had a negative impact on the quality of services provided by the library and on its ability to meet the needs of its users.
The Ibadan Book Club, a group of book lovers and advocates for the promotion of reading culture, has observed the deteriorating state of the Oyo State Library and has called on the governor to take urgent steps to renovate and equip the library. The group believes that a functional and well-equipped library is essential to the development of a reading culture and to the education of the people of the state.
The book club has identified several areas of concern with regard to the Oyo State Library. These include the inadequate supply of books, outdated technology, and poorly maintained facilities. The group has called for an increase in funding for the library, the acquisition of new books and technology, and the provision of a conducive environment for reading and research.
The Ibadan Book Club has also highlighted the importance of the library in promoting literacy and education. A well-equipped library can serve as a resource center for students, researchers, and the general public, providing access to a wide range of information and knowledge. This can help to bridge the gap in educational opportunities between different socio-economic groups.
The Ibadan Book Club has urged Governor Seyi Makinde to take a proactive stance on the issue of the Oyo State Library. They have called on him to prioritize the renovation and equipping of the library as part of his administration's commitment to education and development in the state.
The group has suggested that the governor engage with relevant stakeholders, such as the Oyo State Library Board and other organizations involved in literacy and education, to identify the specific needs of the library and to develop a comprehensive plan for its renovation and upgrading.
The Ibadan Book Club has also encouraged the governor to seek the support of international organizations and donors in funding the renovation and equipping of the library. This can help to ensure that the library meets international standards and is equipped with the latest technology and resources.
The group has emphasized that the Oyo State Library is a valuable asset to the state and to its people. A well-equipped and functional library can contribute to the development of the state's human capital and to the promotion of a reading culture that fosters intellectual growth and development.

REASONS WHY IBADAN BOOK CLUB MOBILIZED SUPPORT FOR GOV. SEYI MAKINDE RE-ELECTION BID
Ibadan Book Club is a group of intellectuals, writers, and book lovers in Ibadan, the capital city of Oyo State, Nigeria. The group was established to promote reading culture and to provide a platform for literary discussions among its members. Over the years, the group has grown in membership and influence, attracting writers, scholars, and intellectuals from across the state and beyond.
In a statement signed by the Coordinator of the Club, Ayobami Odunyemi said Ibadan Book Club made a bold move by mobilizing support for Governor Seyi Makinde's re-election bid. The Club saw it as an opportunity to make a difference in the state's politics and to lobby the governor for the improvement of the state's education sector.
The Writers for Democratic Change was established by the Ibadan Book Club to drive the campaign for Governor Seyi Makinde's re-election bid. The movement comprised writers, journalists, and intellectuals who believed in the governor's vision for the state and wanted to contribute their quota to his re-election bid. The movement made several releases in support of the governor's re-election bid, highlighting his achievements in the education sector, infrastructure development, and youth empowerment. Below are the links to some of these releases: https://pmparrotng.com/2022/09/24/second-term-in-office-makinde-secures-support-from-oyo-writers/, https://pmparrotng.com/2022/09/27/makindes-leadership-style-hailed-by-oyo-writers/, https://www.blueprint.ng/2023-oyo-writers-declare-support-for-makindes-second-term/. The Movement is also the author of the popular writeup, “Why Governor Seyi Makinde Deserves Second Term, 30 Good Reasons Why You Should Vote For Governor Seyi Makinde This Coming Saturday and others.
Some key political stakeholders in the state were briefed about the movement's activities, including Governor Seyi Makinde himself, the Commissioner for Information, the Oyo SUBEB Chairman, and the Speaker of the House of Assembly. The movement also engaged in door-to-door campaigns, rallies, and other forms of political mobilization to garner support for the governor's re-election bid.
One of the reasons why the Ibadan Book Club supported Governor Seyi Makinde's re-election bid was his contribution to the education sector in the state. The governor had embarked on several projects aimed at improving the quality of education in the state, including the construction of new schools, renovation of existing ones, and the recruitment of more teachers. The Ibadan Book Club saw this as a step in the right direction and believed that the governor needed a second term to consolidate on his achievements.
Another reason why the Ibadan Book Club supported Governor Seyi Makinde's re-election bid was to lobby the governor for the improvement of the state's libraries. The group had been using the premises of the Oyo State Library Board since 2021 for their monthly reading activities. The group saw the need for the library to be upgraded to an international standard, and they believed that supporting the governor's re-election bid would give them the opportunity to make their case.
The Ibadan Book Club had featured over 60 writers since its inception, and the successors of Mrs. Adebola Akinlolu, who granted the group permission to use the library, had continued to allow them to use the premises for their monthly readings. The group believed that refurbishing the library would not only benefit them but also the entire state, as it would provide a conducive environment for learning and research.
The Ibadan Book Club made several correspondences to the governor, highlighting the need for the library to be upgraded to an international standard. They believed that this would not only benefit the state but also attract scholars and researchers from across the country and beyond. The group saw the governor's re-election bid as an opportunity to push their agenda and make a difference in the state's education sector.

His overwhelming victory is a testament to the confidence and trust the people of Oyo State have in his leadership and vision for the state. As a book club that advocates for education, intellectualism, and growth, we appreciate the Governor's commitment to the development of education in Oyo state.
Throughout his first term, Governor Seyi Makinde prioritized education, making it a centerpiece of his administration's agenda. He provided necessary resources to improve the quality of education in the state, including the allocation of funds to renovate schools, upgrade facilities and provide free education for primary and secondary schools in the state. We believe that his re-election is a testament to the people's satisfaction with his efforts in the education sector and his commitment to developing human capital.
In addition to education, Governor Seyi Makinde has also made remarkable strides in other sectors of the economy. He has been committed to building infrastructure, creating jobs, improving healthcare and boosting agriculture, among other things. His administration's focus on industrialization has attracted foreign investments, boosted the state's economy and created job opportunities for the people of Oyo state.
Governor Seyi Makinde's re-election is a significant achievement, especially in the face of the numerous challenges that the state and the nation face. However, Governor Seyi Makinde has shown his leadership qualities by staying true to his words and delivering on his promises despite the challenges.
We believe that Governor Seyi Makinde's re-election is a mandate to continue his developmental agenda in Oyo state. Literature / Synw Commends President Buhari For Signing Copyright Bill Into Law by synw: 7:44am On Mar 24, 2023
SYNW COMMENDS PRESIDENT BUHARI FOR SIGNING COPYRIGHT BILL INTO LAW
The Society of Young Nigerian Writers (SYNW) has issued a statement to commend President Muhammadu Buhari for signing the Copyright Bill into law. This new legislation is a significant milestone in protecting the intellectual property of Nigerian creators and promoting innovation across various sectors.
The SYNW, which is one of the most prominent literary organizations in Nigeria, noted that the Copyright Bill's enactment would go a long way in boosting creativity and empowering the nation's creative industry. The new legislation aligns with international best practices and standards, giving Nigerian creators a level playing field to compete with their counterparts from other countries.
According to the President of SYNW, Mr. Wole Adedoyin, "The signing of the Copyright Bill into law is a positive development for Nigeria's creative industry. We are happy that President Buhari has demonstrated his commitment to the growth of the sector by giving assent to this important piece of legislation. We believe that this law will create an enabling environment for creativity to thrive and contribute to the country's economic development."
The Copyright Bill seeks to address the inadequacies of the old law and update the legal framework for copyright protection in Nigeria. The new law provides for the protection of intellectual property across various sectors, including music, film, literature, and the visual arts. It also outlines the rights and obligations of creators, users, and intermediaries in the creative industry.
The SYNW has been advocating for the passage of the Copyright Bill into law for many years. The organization believes that the new legislation will provide much-needed protection for Nigerian creators and incentivize them to create more works. The society also hopes that the new law will attract more investments into the creative industry, leading to job creation and economic growth.
The society also lauded the efforts of the National Assembly for passing the bill and urged other government agencies to support the implementation of the new law. The SYNW believes that the successful implementation of the Copyright Bill will require collaboration between different stakeholders, including creators, regulators, and the private sector.
The SYNW has also called on Nigerian creators to take advantage of the new law by registering their works with the Nigerian Copyright Commission (NCC). The society believes that the registration of works will help to protect the rights of creators and provide a basis for legal action in case of copyright infringement.
The society has urged the NCC to create awareness about the new law and its provisions, especially among Nigerian creators. The society believes that many creators are not aware of their rights under the new legislation and may continue to suffer from copyright infringement.
The SYNW has also called on the NCC to ensure that the registration process for works is simple and accessible to all creators.

The society hopes that the new law will create a conducive environment for creativity to thrive and lead to job creation and economic growth. The SYNW also believes that the new legislation will encourage more investments in the creative industry and enhance the country's international reputation as a hub for creativity and innovation.

The SYNW has pledged its support to the implementation of the new law and called on other stakeholders to do the same.

SYNW ADMONISHES YOUNG WRITERS TO REFINE THEIR CRAFT BEFORE PUBLISHING
The Society of Young Nigerian Writers (SYNW) has admonished young writers to take the time to refine their craft before publishing their work. The statement comes in response to the rising trend of young writers rushing to publish their work without proper editing or refinement.
In a statement signed by the President of SYNW, Wole Adedoyin noted that the rush to publish work can be attributed to the desire for instant gratification and recognition. The Society of Young Nigerian Writers is a literary organization that focuses on promoting the literary culture in Nigeria and developing the writing skills of young writers. The organization believes that writing is an art that requires patience and dedication to achieve perfection.
The statement emphasizes the importance of taking time to edit and revise work to ensure that it is of high quality. This includes checking for grammatical errors, inconsistencies, and ensuring that the plot, characters, and themes are well-developed.
The Society of Young Nigerian Writers also highlights the role of mentors in the writing process. The organization encourages young writers to seek out mentors who can provide guidance and constructive feedback on their work.
In addition, the statement suggests that young writers should participate in writing workshops and attend writing conferences to improve their craft. These events provide opportunities to learn from experienced writers and network with other aspiring writers.
The Society of Young Nigerian Writers acknowledges that publishing work can be an important step in a writer's career. However, the organization believes that this should only be done after the work has been thoroughly refined and edited.
The statement also addresses the importance of intellectual property rights. The Society of Young Nigerian Writers warns young writers against publishing their work without proper copyright protection. The organization encourages writers to register their work with the appropriate authorities to prevent plagiarism and infringement.
Furthermore, the statement emphasizes the need for writers to build a strong reputation in the literary community. This can only be achieved by consistently producing high-quality work that showcases their talent and dedication to the craft.
The Society of Young Nigerian Writers urges young writers to view writing as a lifelong journey of learning and growth. The organization believes that by taking the time to refine their craft, young writers can achieve their full potential and make a meaningful contribution to the literary world.

Politics / Writer's Group Accuses Senator Teslim Folarin Of Incompetence And Lack Of Capaci by synw: 5:30pm On Mar 16, 2023
WRITER'S GROUP ACCUSES SENATOR TESLIM FOLARIN OF INCOMPETENCE AND LACK OF CAPACITY TO GOVERN OYO STATE
The Writers for Democratic Change (WfDC) has brought to the attention of the general public the incompetence and lack of capacity of Senator Teslim Folarin to represent the people of Oyo State. As a responsible civil society group, WfDC cannot sit back and watch the people of Oyo State suffer under the ineffective leadership of a politician who has nothing to offer.
This statement was made by the Coordinator of the WfDC, Wole Adedoyin who is also the Pioneer State Secretary of the Interparty Advisory Council (IPAC) and former State Secretary of the Conference of Nigeria Political Parties (CNPP) in Oyo State.
According to the Statement, “Senator Teslim Folarin has shown over time that he lacks the requisite knowledge and experience to effectively represent the people of Oyo State in the National Assembly. His performance since his election has been nothing short of abysmal. His lack of impact and inability to attract any significant development to his constituency is a clear indication that he has nothing to offer the people.”
“It is disheartening to note that Senator Folarin, who was once the Senate Leader, could not use his position to attract meaningful development to Oyo State. Rather than channel his energy towards legislative duties that would benefit his constituents, he was more interested in playing politics and advancing his personal interests. This lackadaisical attitude has left his constituents in a state of despair and despondency.”
“We have carefully monitored Senator Teslim Folarin's activities since his election and can confidently say that he has not initiated any significant project or made any meaningful contribution to the development of Oyo State. It is a shame that a representative who was elected to serve the people has not done anything tangible to justify the mandate given to him.”
“The people of Oyo State deserve a representative who will prioritize their welfare and work towards improving their standard of living. Unfortunately, Senator Teslim Folarin has failed in this regard. His lack of ideas, coupled with his inability to attract development to his constituency, is a clear indication that he has nothing to offer the people of Oyo State.”
“It is important to note that Senator Folarin has been in the National Assembly for over six years, yet he has nothing tangible to show for it. This is unacceptable, and we call on the people of Oyo State to hold him accountable for his failure to represent them effectively. The time has come for the people to demand more from their representatives and hold them accountable for their actions.”
“We urge the people of Oyo State to support and vote for Governor Seyi Makinde, candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who has a clear vision for the state and the capacity to bring development to the people. Senator Teslim Folarin has had his chance and has shown that he is incapable of delivering on his promises. It is time for him to step aside and allow someone else to take up the mantle of leadership and steer Oyo State towards greater heights.
Finally, the WfDC reiterated that Senator Teslim Folarin has nothing to offer the people of Oyo State. His lack of impact and failure to attract any significant development to his constituency is a clear indication that he is not fit to govern the people of Oyo State. WfDC therefore called on the people of Oyo State to reject him at the polls this Saturday and vote Governor Seyi Makinde for the second time. Governor Seyi Makinde is a candidate who has the capacity and vision to lead the state towards progress and development.

TEN REASONS WHY YOU MUST NOT VOTE FOR SENATOR TESLIM FOLARIN THIS COMING SATURDAY
By: Wole Adedoyin
Senator Teslim Folarin, a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), was elected to represent the Oyo Central Senatorial District in the Nigerian Senate. Despite his position, many residents of Oyo State believe that Senator Folarin has failed to deliver on his promises and has nothing to offer the people of Oyo State.
Firstly, Senator Folarin has been in office for over six years, yet he has not initiated any meaningful development projects in his constituency. While other senators have embarked on various development projects such as building schools, health centres and providing water to their constituents, Senator Folarin seems to have nothing to offer.
Secondly, Senator Folarin's performance in the Senate has been lacklustre. He has not sponsored any significant bills or initiated any debates that would benefit the people of Oyo State. His attendance rate is also poor, as he is often absent from plenary sessions.
Thirdly, Senator Folarin's constituency office is almost always closed, and his staff are not readily available to the people. Constituents often have to wait for long hours to see him or get assistance from his office, which is unacceptable.
Fourthly, Senator Folarin has not been responsive to the needs of his constituents. He has not been proactive in addressing the various issues affecting his constituents, such as unemployment, poverty, and insecurity. This lack of concern has led many to believe that he is not interested in their welfare.
Fifthly, Senator Folarin has not been visible in his constituency. He has not participated in town hall meetings or community events, which are essential for engaging with constituents and understanding their needs. This lack of visibility has contributed to the perception that he is not interested in the welfare of his constituents.
Sixthly, Senator Folarin's leadership style is autocratic, and he does not consult with his constituents before taking decisions that affect them. This lack of consultation has led to mistrust and apathy among his constituents.
Seventhly, Senator Folarin has not been able to attract any significant development projects to his constituency. This is particularly disappointing, given that he is a ranking senator and a member of the ruling party.
Eighthly, Senator Folarin has been embroiled in various controversies, which have detracted from his effectiveness as a senator.
Ninthly, Senator Folarin has not been able to bring the dividends of democracy to his constituents. He has not been able to influence policies that would benefit his constituents, such as creating job opportunities and attracting investments to the state.
Lastly, Senator Folarin's lack of achievements has led to a decline in his popularity among his constituents. Many have lost faith in his ability to represent them effectively, and they are calling for his replacement.
Finally, Senator Folarin has failed to deliver on his promises and has nothing to offer the people of Oyo State. His lack of achievements, poor leadership style, and inability to attract development projects to his constituency have made him ineffective as a senator. It is time for him to step down and allow someone else to represent the people of Oyo Central Senatorial District effectively.
