Lioness5280: How many Africans did you have this conversation with, and from which countries specifically ?
And here is another interesting perspective and a well recorded one, I can even fetch threads here on nairaland if you insist I do to buttress my point. it's not only South Africa on the African continent that wants to chase you people out of their country ....why do you think that is?. A lot of countries would kill their presidents if they heard you people would be visa free with them. You are eve banned in Seychelles because of the same issues SA and others raise about you . Do don't come here and act like you're some darling of African nations when they treat you worse than.they treat the supposed xenophobes . And have you ever wondered why SA are treated pleasantly in other African countries, with their "xenophobic" tendencies ,but you that masquerades as online lovers of everyone gets treated with disdain?
Go through my submissions on this thread;
https://www.nairaland.com/8268018/nigerian-man-makes-it-after/10
You'll see why as South Africans we will always be proud xenophobes to those who seek to destroy and undermine who we are and what we have worked for under the guise of"brotherhood and Africanism". We have no Shame in defending our stance, we don't pretend to be saints,we own our shyt unlike your Igboid two-faced people who come in to people's homes as brothers only to turn out to be poisonous🐍 . @ bolded..........wow! Words on marble!!
This exactly, was the way they presented themselves to us whey they migrated enmasse, to our region after the disastrous civil war they involved themselves in, against stern advice from discerning minds.
Now, they call us all sort of negative names and label our famous city, "No man's land". These group are a scrouge on any community that is unfortunate enough to accommodate them.. |

Anyway, you agree that there are some igbos in kogi state but because of their small number, they couldn't develop the state.

I agree with the former but disagree with the latter.
In a zoo, there is order and every occupants knows its station and maintain their lane whereas in nigeria, everything is "upside down" as fela opined, decades ago.
Nigeria is more like "Animal farm" where all the inhabitants are supposedly equals however, some inhabitants are more equals than others.
The brainchilds of these "animal farm" are now endangered species. The moral story of one (united) nigeria is : be careful of what you wish for..........

Seunmsg1: See, they never even lost up to that number. What we fail to recognize is that the Eastern region of then comprised of other ethnic nationals that makes up the SS and parts of middle belt of today, apart from Ibos. I am talking about the Ibibios, Anangs, Ogoja, Ika, Ijaw, Igala, Idoma and so on. These peoples were mostly affected by the war but Ibos are acting as if they were the only ones affected. The Ibos actually oppressed and dominated these groups, forcing them to join Biafra army and killed so many of them within the Eastern region during the war. Their elders will tell you about the atrocities of Ibos during the war. They entered the Mid West and massacred Binis, Esan, Urhobo, Ikwere and Isoko peoples, forcefully occupying their space. Yet the Ibos have been crying like they were the only victim of the war. They tried to dominate but failed and everything boomeranged on them. @ bolded............Exactly!!! This is why i liken them to the hunter who is now being hunted by his former prey.
They were warned to leave the fulanis alone but their genetically-wired covetousness and greed beclouded their reasoning capability. Their slimy, inept and myopic leaders were busy fooling them that they will soon be at the top of the food chain in nigeria and henceforth, dominate the entire country.
So when the fulanis were slaughtering them in 1945 and 1953, they still cling to the hope that their leaders will one day fulfill their dream. Oh well, 6 decades later, they are nowhere near actualising that audacious dream. Rather, they have become endangered species in the country, they planned to dominate. Karma is truly a b.i.t.x.x |

TheBillyonaire: He was not born in Lagos Island. He was born inIragbiji in Osun State.
He moved to Ibadan to hustle as a street boy to survive, and life became very tough and he join the garage boys to hustle and then followed them to Lagos. The bus dropped them at Lagos Island and he startle hustling in the garage and sometimes had to sell drugs and weeds to survive.
That is where and when the woman who changed his life met him cos of his street savvy and sincerity. He ended up inheriting the name of the woman's daughter who passed away and that my friend is the beginning of rejected stone that has become to chief corner stone.
Having lived in Lagos for more than 10 yrs, he is fully a Lagosian now, just like Emeka from Anambra and Mohammed from Kano who have lived in Lagos for 10 years and above are now legally Lagosians by Law. After all your long epistle, you forgot some significant points and these are (i)Tinubu was born by yoruba parents, (ii)who named him in his native language and (iii) brought him up as a yoruba boy/man unlike your emeka from anambra who come to lagos on a night bus to come and sell gala on the roads of lagos for his uncle, chinedu.
No matter how many times, a machete is thrown in the air, it will always land on his flat side . No matter how many spins you put into your story, lagos will never be a no man's land. The sooner, you all inculcate this knowledge into your obdurate plateau-shaped heads, the better you will feel about yourselves. |

Never mind the civil war's collateral damages, how many igbos are still been slaughtered because of that du.mb decisive decision, Ironsi made 6 decades ago?
During Jonathan govt. when you igbos hijack his reign, i suppose, going by your juvenile postulation, there was no igbo man with humongous intestinal fortitude available to attempt a reversal of Ironsi's decisive decision of May 1966?

aswani: Right on all counts but the last paragraph (and even that is partially right). If Southern politicians can forget their differences and align as one political block, the so called Northern power political cabal is toast.
Middle belt are now realising they too can have a say, if they joined a united South too, for the first time ever, the Northern political group will be a minority.
Sadly, or maybe not so, Southern politicians are greedy, easily bribed and simply cannot see the bigger picture. Most of them would rather do boy boy for a northerner than a fellow Southerner.
Northern party NPN made it clear ro Abiola that his money was nothing in politics, same for Northern party PDP letting Peter Obi and Wike know that their rotation promise was not going to be fulfilled as long as a Northerner was interested in their Presidential ticket. Please, open your eyes and smell the blasted coffee!!!
Remember, when the subject of independence for the new country was being discussed? The sardunna shamelessly admitted that they, the northerners, are not equipped to administer to their region and as such, it will be left to the "infidels" - the educated southerners who will be in charge (administratively) of their (northern) region. This idea was quite inconceivable and untenable to the islamic north. They would rather stand alone than be under the service of the non-islamic but progressive south.
Unfortunately, nothing has changed as far as the fulanis are concerned. In spite of their vice-like grip on the governance of the country for the past 6 decades, their region is still the least develop and the poorest in nigeria. Nevertheless, th ey would rather burn down the whole flippin' country than have to answer to an infidel in their (own) supposedly country. Even, if that southerner would bring much needed development to the whole country.
This is why i asserted that this country is not redeemable. |

paramakina202: Simply put! Yorubas are one of the benficiaries of Ironsi's decree 34 from Awo serving Gowon as number 2 man to OBJ to Tinubu non have lifted a finger to return Nigeria to what it was before Ironsi's short lived regime rather they keep consolidating on the unification decree. Yeah, of course! If that will soothe your troubled soul.
Ironsi's decree 34 was a "winner takes all". There's no room for second best. From Awo's 2ic to Gowon, who was a fulani stooge to Obj who was released from prison to occupy arsehole rock by the same fulanis who jailed him initially, for treason and now to Tinubu who bent over backwards for the same mofos who have been slaughtering his yoruba people on their ancestral land for eons, just so they could gift him the keys to the presidency. |
