Ooni:Haba!, bruv, make you dey use your brain, once in a while, na At the time in question, FFK was a strapping yoruba boy in his early twenties doing his Masters Law degree whilst Bianca was just a "Sweet18", studying A Level Law. |
cyril10:No need for slapping, that's primitive. Bianca animashaun should just sue kemi to court for slander if what the latter said was false. |
Putindbutt:An old dog knows no new tricks. |
Elusive001:Stop living in fool's paradise o! When was the last time, you guys threatened to be on your own since the civil war? Who dey shiver and felt sick as you claimed, above? However, nearly every regions in nigeria had given you quit notice (at some point in the past decade) only for your red caps chiefs to go, caps in hand, abegging. You guys NEEDS Nigeria much more than Nigeria NEEDS you and that's a fact. Nigeria don't need you BUT you need Nigeria! I dare you guys to leave like you did in 1966 and let's see if anyone will shiver. |
bigpriik:How did you come about this ridiculous conclusion? Na brooms we go take sweep the floors after you vermoose from the SW. |
Adaisback:Yeah, of course they do ![]() |
KillahPriest:@ bolded, above...............The infamous statement was first made in 1947 by none other than the first Speaker of the House of Representatives and later Minister for Foreign Affairs, Honorable Jaja Anucha Nwachukwu. Something tells me that you are cognisant of this simple FACT however the mischevious proprnsity inherent in you, made you propagate the fallacious tale in your comment, above. It's a shame......indeed! |
gidgiddy:Is the oyel, yours? How much oyel is available in your region? At the topic.......of course, they don't want the country to break up seeing as, they are at the top of the food chain of One united Nigeria. If the situation now, is on the other foot, they would have left the unholy union, seccession clause or no seccession clause, long time ago. Would the northern elders be saying "no break up" if it were yorubas or the igbos unaliving fulanis especially, in major northern states like Kano, kaduna, katsina ati bebelo, with great abandon? Of course, NOT. If we don't break up this contraption, the fulanis will eventually unalive us all in the country. FACT. The other day, Gumi was mouthing how long it will take to finally eradicate terrorism inthe country- 20years!!! Immediately, the emir of Sokoto repeated the same thing and the rest of their elite amplified the same asinine notion. I wonder, how many of us non-fulanis will be left (in the country) in 2 decades, at the rate, these so-called bandits are terrorising everyone in the country? |
Racoon:Why bother when you can just heap the blame on Tinubu and his APC party. |
nairalanda1:Please, stop deliberately disseminating falsehood. It was not Nzeogwu's coup (and you know it or ought to, by now) but Ifeajuuna's . Nzeogwu headed the coup in the north as that was where he was based but he was the last to be recruited bar one, into the coup plot The coup plot commenced in August 1965 by Majors Ifeajunna, Okafor and Capt. Oji but Nzeogwu was recruited in October by Maj. Anuforo. Nzeogwu in turn, recruited Maj. Ademoyega who he had worked with in Nigerian Army Training College, Kaduna. As per the success of the coup- it was a success. Igbo soldiers planned a coup, executed it by unaliving other regional politicians and military officers whilst sparing theirs and the outcome was an igbo military head of state. It was either Mbadiwe or Ironsi but the Northern leaders kicked against the choice of Mbadiwe. It was at this point that Ironsi took power at gun point. Many books by those present attested to this i.e Shagari's, T.O.S Benson's etc. I wish you guys will stop calling it Nzeogwu's coup because it's not. |
TimeMachine2:Abi o, jare!!! It's a FACT and the records are there for all to see, which shows that, it was their "nationalist" (sic) leader who introduce tribalism into our political lexicon in the 1940s. |
electromide05:Am not a tinubu supporter but Obi is a gauranteed flop. One does not need to be a soothsayer or a member of M.E.N.S.A to know this fact. Only those with a few missing screws upstairs believes, Obi is going to turn Nigeria from "consumption to Production". |
lightwind:Mechounnu jo. By their fruits, you shall know them. |
Wickedtruths:Honestly!!! C' est impossicant! |
muyico:You sound, envious. ![]() |
helinues:The danger here is that their next generation will believe all their propaganda without questioning the logic therein and then proceed to use these lies to behave anyhow in this geographical space thereby making the same mistakes as their elders. |
Adaisback:Well versed, indeed!!! Even before the coup, these guys have never shown you any love. Abi, you 've forgotten what happened in 1945 and then again in 1953? And then you went and unalived their "God" and as if that wasn't bad enough, you now foisted unitary govt on them where you will be the one determining their future for them! You all are on a long thing o. Since then, they have been kpaing you guys at the drop of a koran or sighting of the moon. |
RemoteNaija:What exactly is tribalism, to you? |
engrchykae:Oh well, can you juxtapose that with Dr. Zik licking the north's backside ONLY to get a ceremonial post. After the (un)civil war, where the north unleashed their fury on the igbos, another igbo leader (Dr. Ekweume) licked the same northerners behind JUST to get a mere VP post. Even Ojukwue who led you into a meaningless and disastrous war came back to lick and campaigned for President Shagari. At least, Tinubu got the presidency whereas no amount of arse-licking you do, the most you will ever get is, VP. Your Obi will never get into aso rock except of course, as a guest. The joke is on you, matey ![]() |
Believeintruth:It would have been difficult for the brits to refuse the motion if all the people of Nigeria through thrir representatives unsnimously agree for the inclusion of the secession clause. Zik went further to argued that once Nigeria became a federation, it was meant to be indivisible, and any attempt to secede would be treason. |
OfoIgbo:Jesus wept!!! SMH |
Believeintruth:[i] Awo wanted secession clause included in the constitution. The NPC supported the AG. However, Britan opposed it and doesn't like the idea. Zik also opposed it and made a case against it (secession clause) citing the case of Texas vs White. Since zik opposed it, it gave the British the upper hand to reject the motion. Had it been that zik did not opposed it, the British would be left with no choice if ALL the regions wanted the clause included in the Constitution. [i] Excerpt: Nnamdi Azikiwe’s interview with New Nigeria in 1975.* |
bigpicture001:I still don't see any hatred or fear of the igbos in the clip, above. Should the sardunna had stand akimbo and watched the igbos take most of the civil service posts in his region to prove that he does not harbour any hate towards them and that's he's not a tribalist? |
bigpicture001:Omo, this your propaganda is stale o! Did Moreover, the hate tag you igbos placed on him is quite insincere. He never claimed to care about southern Nigerians but for his people and if by looking out for the interest of his people makes him a tribalist then that's your problem, deal with it. You guys were hell-bent on dominating his people and in fact, the whole country and if by check-mating your hegemonic ambition in his region with his northernisation policy is termed tribalism, he cared not. One Nigeria was your dream, not his. This is the same way you guys called Awo and by extension a whole nationality, tribalist, simply because according to you lot, he did not allow an igbo man to be in charge of the western region- yorubaland. None of you bother to ask , why does an igbo man wanted to rule over the yorubas especially one that has spent his whole political career until then, fighting, vilifying, denigrating and been downright obnoxious to the yoruba leaders and their interests? I have watched that BBC interview many times and i can't find any hint of hate towards the igbos therein, rather all I saw was a leader who is genuinely looking out for the interests of the people he 's leading, in the new political hemisphere called Nigeria. |
owobokiri:Your uncle, Ironsi too suppisedly survived Nzeogwu's coup and we all saw what Nigeria became in his hand......decree 34 |
Pierocash:How many soldiers were imprisoned in the "Awo coup"? |
Ofodirinwa:Fa fa fa fowl Major Nzeogwu had murdered peace and as such he can never R.I.P |
muykem:Hell No!!! They were too busy scheming how to dominate the whole country, in perpetuity. |
anonimi:Thst's your lot in life - wailing and gnashing of teeth. You have been wailing since nineteen gbogboro like egbere and una go wail till all eternity. Cry me an ocean |
Racoon:Una go wail tire! You wanted "One Nigeria" and that's what you have now. Unfortunately, your homeboy is not in the saddle-seat and will never be, till thy kingdom come. Deal with it as you deem fit. |
