Ofunaofu:Achebe's last book, "There was a country" exposes the innate bigotry in the man and the book was filled from cover to cover with lies, propaganda and fallacious tales from the archives of radio biafra. I took particular interest in the way achebe discribed the first republic and how his kinsmen dominated civil service posts in yorubaland i.e 70% of NRC posts was taken by them. Achebe swore, it was merit based |
mrvitalis:Hell No!!! You can continue following the aguleri masqurade to ADC - Association of Desperate Criminals. It's your prerorgative . |
lightwind:Of course, northerners , fulanis inparticular are the kingmakers in this federal-nay-fulani govt of Nigera (FGN). I mean, who else in this country can make a prisoner into a presidental material? All the southern presidents since 1999, have all been lackies of the fulanis. Even Obasanjo, a former military dictator and a war veteran, couldn't do jack xxxx, when these guys started slaughtering us for their religious God, i.e introduction of Sharia into our political discourse and the Miss World contest among many. Many non-fulanis especially, southerners were gruesomely murdered and all obj said on itv news was that, it's only political sharia and as such, it il soon fade. Meanwhile, nobody was arrested let alone presecuted for this mindless killing spree. |
zinaunreal:That would have been the case and the rational thing to do but zik swore that nigeria was created by the God of Africa (never heard of Him) and that our "unity" is perpetually indissoluble and anyone trying to seceed from this creation of God, will be charged with treason. The brits not wanting their largest colony in west Africa to disintegrate, supported Zik and consequently the secession clause was not inserted into our constitution LOBATON!!! |
MEGAWATCH:Omo, the feeling is mutual o! It's just that we don't make a song and dance about this fact. You are free to align with the north (as you have always done since independrnce) however, the most you will ever get for all your troubles, is a VP post. There is no trust among the various nations that makes up, nigeria. |
MEGAWATCH:You must be a mentusaleh with selective memory loss as it was easy for you to recollect that Awo served in Gowon's govt as 2nd in command however, you forgot that the man resigned from that position, soon after the war, in 1971. Is Nigeria STILL not a mere geographical expression, 70 years after the fact? The unity that formed the bedrock of this country is STILL a mirage, 7 decades later. Yeah, Awo was robbed in the 1979 presidential election but, by whom? Interestingly enough, when put into context, it was less than a decade since the end of what, some will like to call, an uncivil war. The same group took the VP role to rob the late sage of his mandate. |
MEGAWATCH:I don't believe in southern unity , either but since you guys started the precedence, you might as well, stick with it. Stop the gaslighting, jo. This is the first time in over half a century that (some) yorubas opted to collaborate with the north. All your collabo with the north only got you the ineffectual VP posts. |
MEGAWATCH:Yeah, but who has been supporting the North since independence? Zik supported tafawa balewa in the first republic whilst Ekeuame was the supporting act to shehu shagari. Even, ojukwu after sacrificing millions of his people in the civil war, came back from exile, to campaign for Shagari. This was the guy who said the only time he will ever have anything to do with the northerners, is ONLY on the battlefield. He ate his words!!! |
[i]Truly, money and education can't buy class. It's either you have it or not. Just look at an educated and ex- first lady of a state in yorubaland talking like a street girl. Surely, this woman have no class and i must commend ogbeni Dipo who, despite all horrible language was able to comport himself and not jump into the gutter with her. That's the omoluabi ethos which those without such cultural value, will not comprend. I have to the realisation that when they accussed one of igbophobia, it's actually a confession . From her tirades at Dipo, one can discern the rabid and unhealthy hatred, this woman arbors for her late husband's people. She couldn't help herself as she had to include, "yoruba nation" in her verbal diahorrea.[ /i] |
mightyhazel:It takes one to know one ![]() |
Saturnalia:Thank you, o jare!!! Shebi, na here we dey when this popular female norther politician said that when he asked Tinubu what plans he has for the insecurity in the north? Tinubu admittedl candidly that he has no plans "cause if he does, he "ll be steeping on some toes who wouldn't hesitate to kpai him. Who wan die for Nigeria? Even Tinubu a.k.a Emilokun no wan die for his mandate. Tinubu is not in charge of nigeria rather the likes of Gumi are. Tinubu is just a place-holder for the true owners of Nigeria. |
ariesbull:Yeah, it doesn't stop the whole wide world from seeing you for who, you really are. |
fuckingAyaya:Which tribe supported Buhari's importation of bandits into the country, in 2015? You never any excuse, no matter how trivial, to give a dog, a bad name.............. |
math2001:But who cares ![]() ![]() Even if it is an ijebu name, i still w/don't give a xxxx |
miracle002:Promises! Promises!!Promises!!! Nuffin' dey shele. ![]() |
Justiceleague1:Oh well, little things they say, pleases little minds. |
7lives:Omo, o ma kon wa o, because when s.h.iiii.t finally hits the fan, they are going to run down to our seeking succour whilst chanting, "One Nigeria". |
Ladiesdoctor: It flippin' well does look like it. |
I knew (from experience) that Tinubu, inspite of his promises, can't stop terrorism in the country. That was the main reason why i refused to vote for him in 2023 and he ain't getting my vote in 2027, either. Neither Atiku nor PO can eradicate terrorism in Nigeria. In fact, no one can stop terrorism in the coutry except of course, those who set the ball rolling in the first place. |
brain54:Am sure, you know where to stick your unsolicited "pity". |
Nigga44:I guess, the igbos have NEVER betrayed yorubas or any other group in the country Since the1940s? Keep on fanning the emblems of rabid hatred for your fellow countrymen. We all shall witnees how far, it gets you. |
christistruth01:Chai, wonders shall never cease o! Here, we see the same ex-rebel leader who arrogantly told Baba at their meeting in enugu, before the war, that the ONLY time, he will ever have anything to do with the North, is on the battlefield. Here he was, campaigning with all his might for a northern president. Always comes back to feed on their BS. |
Justiceleague1:What a lame cop-out. Oh so, you didn't know that Zik attempted to be leader of govt. in yorubaland? And you only heard of this on NL, only. So, you have never heard of "carpet-crossing" , allegedly by Awo? When we tell your ilk to read books (on Nigeria's history), una go so, No! Rather, you go about regurgitating the same propaganda and outright fallacies from your duplicitious, myopic and inept leaders. |
Justiceleague1:Of course, you are from the SS ![]() Did you just wrote that the easterners ONLY had ONE grouse against Awo? You must be having a laugh. Btw, who told you, it was Awo who advised the gederal govt. to blockade the eastern region? Do you mean, there was no one in our military forces in 1966, who is aware that blockade is a legitimate and effective strategy of warfare? They all needed (about 6000 of them) for Awo - a civillian, to come up with this masterplan! Anything wrong in the eastern region is blamed on Awo - if there's no rainfall, blame Awo, if there's too much rain, blame Awo. A typical example is the 1951 regional election in the western region and Zik , an unabashed enemy of yhr yorubas wanted to become Leader of Govt. in yorubaland. When zik lost, he and his folks blames Awo to this day, saying he, Awo is a tribalist TBC |
brain54:The Lord created me, as a yoruba man. If he had wanted me to be a Nigerian,he surely havr fone so. Btw, what's your ethnicity? It can be much if you are so willing to let go of iy for a "nigrrian |
BeardedMeat:Am not surprised, either. What we have in nigeria is what's called "State-sponsored Terrorism". Ali Bashir started this precedence in 2001, in Sudan. Bought his fulanis kins, camels and equipped them with AK47s and set them loose on southern sudan who were majorly, blacks. They were named "supporter of APC" but their MO is no different to the fulani herdsmen destrustion in nigeria. I suppose, an old dog is incapable of learning new tricks! |
brain54:Someone asked you (earlier) if you are willing to jettison your ethnic identify to adopt a Nigerian identity . A simple Yes/No question but re- read your response above and tell me how you have answered a straight enquiry? I, and i believe, am not in the minority, have no desire or inclination to drop my yoruba identity for nigeria. That's all i know (my yoruba identity) since from birth and it has stood me in good steed, over the years. How the hell, am i supposed to drop that (id) for a nigerian identity that i know sweet fxx.xx all, about? Btw, what's nigerian value system? Nigerian culture, pratices, spirituality, cuisine, history, worldview ati bebelo? Maybe, you don't care about your ethnic identity but there are many "nigetians" who are very patrotic about their ethnic nationality and are not ready to drop it. As per your able-leadership idea - omo, una go wait tire o! After 65 years of co-exitence, we have not been able to produce that able leadership, you suggested. Are you saying we should wait for another 65 years to find that strong leader that will "unite" us, however, in the interim, fulanis are slaughtering everybody else in the coutry, for sport but sadly, there seems to be no way of stopping them. I will hate to imagine, how many of us will be left with the rate of killings, extantly, in 20 years. |
