Imagine them releasing a press statement sometimes last week that they won't postpone the stream 2 camp but here we are today still at home. Whatever happened to the news we read from vangaurd and other newspaper. So if they say FG has released fund when they haven't released it then am not surprised. |

NYSC › Re: Nasarawa A'16 Stream 1 Leggo by tabithababy(f): 5:49pm On May 18, 2016 |
Olami90: Good afternoon bro and other nasarawa pcms. I am sorry for responding late.
Straight to the point; Nasarawa camp(magaji Dan Yamusa) is located in Keffi, close to Abuja (about 30mins). As far as I know, it is a neat camp with low social activities (I believe this is because of the state coordinator we had then). The hostels are neat and condusive at least averagely, but have no wall sockets. Charging of mobile phones is done at mami market at the rate of 50naira. You can as well come to camp with your provisions to cover up for those that may not always want to eat from the kitchen. There are variety of food at mami market but it is your purse that will bear it( a plate goes for 250-300naira). I will advice you to be wise in spending, no initial gra gra and forming except you belong to other group of people.
**Nasarawa is a state with 13 local government area.
Good Accommodation- Aside being given accommodation by your ppa(mostly private schools, college of agric nad school of health), there are more good structures here and the cost is relative from one local govt or area to another. For example, keffi and karu(d two are d closest to Abuja) are very expensive when it comes to rent and cost of living. A room self con goes for nothing less than 70k averagely. Lafia is better with a range of 35-60k. Other lgs are cheaper. *for those that have high social life, clubbing etc, keffi is a place for you to be but your little allowee will suffer it
Security- The security here is very okay. So far, I have not heard any bad news here. The state is very safe
Light I can tell you light here is very okay in towns compare to southwest where I know much about. I can't say much for interior villages anyway
Cost of living- Cost of living is very expensive in keffi and karu as they are close to Abuja. In Lafia, it is on the average and still reasonable. Food stuffs are reasonably cheap.
Getting a good PPA Nasarawa is not more of an industrialised state so most corps members are posted to schools, hospitals(for medical graduates), ministries and local government.
Don't be disappointed, it will be safe to make the best out of every situation and anywhere you find yourself. For me, I am enjoying the state. Pray to God to guide your steps and truly trust in Him. You will not have cause to regret at the end.
Congratulations to you all. . Please how will I get to nasarawa camp from berger in abuja. And what's the best network over there |

Hurmolawlah: Am not bros ooo am omolola by name Nasarawa camp is OK compare to other states I stayed in block D female hostel D toilet is OK thou it depend on d pple u av in ur hostel sha
U av everything available in mami Der is no atm in d camp buh u can give those pple @ mami to help u withdraw buh dey will collect 10 percent of what so ever u want to withdraw
Thou during my stream (stream 1) we no too have social life like dat except pple dat always go to mami
Our lite out is always 8.00 instead of 10. 00 d soldiers are friendly buh can be funny @ time
U will be forced to come out for fire alarm around 12.00am to 4.00am Dis can occur ass many time depending on d camp commandant.
Can't really remember things again buh if u ask I think I shld be able to get answers
Bro, I must say I'm deeply grateful to you, for availing yourself to enlighten us. As it is, some of A'16 CM deployed to the state are still downcast over the turn out of events.
Howbeit, methinks this is so due to the fact that some of us know next to nothing about the state plus its far off our base.
Anyways, just help us with a brief on the camp experience, the state in general. Security wise how is it? Is social life in existence in the state and which areas? Also, how's cost of living over there?
Pls give it to us raw and hot many thanks again.
Cc val601 Walexz02 Everest25 . Please how can I get to nasarawa camp from berger in abuja thanks |
NYSC › Re: How To Successfully Process Your NYSC Redeployment by tabithababy(f): 4:20pm On May 18, 2016 |
Oraculus: Sometimes, it can be heartbreaking to see yourself in one state when you actually desire another state. For whatever reason it may be for you to want to redeploy, you need to do the process right.
Redeployment is real. NYSC will redeploy you if you can prove you deserve it. Redeployment is currently done on 3 basis: 1. Health reason 2. Marital 3. Security Security is only restricted to states prone terrorism
So to secure a successful redeployment, these tips may help.
For those applying for medical reasons, make sure you get a medical report from a government hospital. NYSC won't acknowledge medical reports from private institutions.
The reports are usually dated. The older the date on the medical report, the more serious NYSC officials will take it. If the report is dated a few days around when you printed your call up, it may raise suspicion about your motive for redeployment eg. you printed callup 1st may and your medical report is dated 5th May; NYSC officials will just be like, 'Osheeyy, Baddest!!' So use your sense. That's all I will say.
As soon as you get to camp, take your medical report to the camp clinic for authentication, then begin your application for redeployment.
NYSC will not redeploy you to your home state.
Lagos and Abuja are highly contested, so you might not get them but you will get places that are very close.
Some people claim to have certain illnesses so that they can be redeployed. Note that these information go into your file for life. And if you don't mind and still want to claim an illness, claim wisely.
Know the illness in and out, and be ready to fake it if possible. But I will strongly advise you not to because NYSC officials will know.
One of the most common illnesses people claim is Asthma. Asthma is manageable and can be managed from any hospital.
Whatever the illness you claim, know that the NYSC officials are going to assume that if the illness did not kill you in 4/5/6 years of school, it won't kill you in one year of NYSC. So they will kuku post you close to a healthy facility instead of redeploy you.
For those that still won't follow my advice and still want to claim illnesses, claim an illness that is chronic, requires close monitoring by your doctor and difficult to diagnose instantly eg type 1 dm.
For those who have genuine conditions, please take your medications, hospital consultation cards/appointment cards with you to camp. These will further support your case.
$ Don't forget NYSC is not foolish. When you were filling your biodata online, most people entered genuine information into the NYSC portal. Infact, there's a column where you are asked if you have any health challenge, some people will answer 'NO', only to later bring a medical report. Lol
During screening, NYSC officials will go through your biodata, state of origin, state where you schooled and the state where you want to be redeployed to. All these will be used to determine whether you will be redeployed or not and if you will be redeployed, it will determine where.
So when you apply for redeployment, careful not to choose your state of origin, lagos or abuja except you have really strong connect or you can really prove that you need to be in those places or else they may redeploy you to wherever they feel like.
Wisely choose less competitive states.
For those that want to redeploy on marital basis, ensure you have all your documents including your marriage certificate, change of name newspaper publication, marriage pictures, etc
Finally, be patriot, don't pay people for redeployment. say no to corruption.
NB: this is a rough draft, kindly forgive all grammatical/typographical and language errors. Just heard, people are printing call up and I needed to drop this info asap. This info is not exhaustive, there are some I can't recall right now and will update when I can. I hope this helps. Good luck. . Please I was posted to borno but asked to camp at nasarawa. Any hope to redeploy to lagos. |
