Some heartburn are induced by certain type of meals. Before you decide to use a drug, first check with your doctor and check very importantly if the drug cam be used for a pregnant woman.

Note that not all antacids are safe in pregnancy.

I used 2 types before I found the one which works perfectly.

New Edd because baby is measuring big. Please don't panic mama. Not good for you at this point. All will be well. See what the new scan says and work hand in hand with your doctor. It is well with you mama.

Present.... I'm getting worried... Scan says my 36+3 wks old baby is 3.97kg already.... I just dey panic.... Doc says I should repeat it somewhere else to be sure but later in the week.... Thurs Friday yet scan new edd is saying 27th Sept.... I'm confused. Please help ftm

I haven't been cooking but can't eat food prepared by my husband or from an eatery, can't even stand fish or meat especially fried but I can eat smoked fish sometimes.

From my 8th week to about 20th week, I threw up everyday including drugs (more than 10 times at times and was usually weak). Most times was given injections that calmed the vomiting for about 12-18hours as I vehemently refused being admitted in the hospital.
To food aversion, everything irritated me. I would crave for funny things and still throw all up at the end including water; plus I was always scared to eat as I didn't want to throw up. I later noticed hot water was able to stay in my stomach so I used to take lots of it before it changed to iced water. I couldn't cook for almost 3months and had to stop business and defer my MSc.
Even fruits I couldn't take. I was able to stomach few fruits just after passing my 23rd week (Pawpaw and pear). Then started eating better at around my 25th week.

Everyone gave me different advice on what to use and none worked for me (I was just wasting money at a point). Point is everyone's system differs and what worked for me might not work for you.

For now, since you know your body accepts fruits and tea (please beverage not tea bag as most tea bags contains caffeine which isn't good for baby) kindly indulge yourself in taking it (but space it out coz for me; once I was able eat a particular meal for like 3 days at a go, my body rejects it and aversion continues). Then try to find out in your own way other meals your system would accept.

If possible, try eating out. You might be able to eat food not prepared by you or around you.

Please mamas, came out of my shy/peeping mode.
I am almost 11 weeks pregnant.
Someone asked about food aversions but the answers are few and don't even apply to me.
I can't take pap, solids, veg, nothing. I can't even drink water without vomiting though I am on Vit B6.
Fruits and Tea are all I can manage but I still get tired and hungry.
Everyone keeps saying I should try little by little and lacing me with drugs but it doesn't help.
please any other suggestions?

How many months are you presently mama? If you are in your first trimester and the drug states not safe for first trimester, then you shouldn't use it.
I had malaria and was on 5days Chloroquine injection in my 14th week. Some mamas here too have taken same Chloroquine for malaria.

Good morning mamas I tested positive to malaria and it was ++ the doctor prescribe the drug in the pic for me. I browsed and saw it wasn't safe in first trimester. Considering it is 80 over 480 can I still take it? I don't even know if what I am typing makes sense. please help.

I'm alive to testify of God's goodness, my princess is hale and hearty too, daddy is overjoyed it ended in praise and by his grace plenty money to take good care of her

Wow @ 4 different tablets. I so much dislike using drugs talk of 4 daily.. The Lord is your strength mama. If there is a decrease in PCV just let the Dr know your decision to go back to Ferobin. Was skeptical in changing to Ferobin initially but now glad I did.

My first pregnancy I was on ferobin all through and my pcv was high....but now my doc insists on taking 4 different tablets (b complex, folic acid and 2 others) but I still don't trust this combo .....in my first trimester I was on ferobin (self prescribed) and my pcv was as high as 40% then...

I might just go back to ferobin if my pcv is low by my next Antenatal

I stopped using Pregnacare less than 2 weeks ago as my PCV was dropping in every test and new Dr said to try something different. Was put on twice a day dosage of Ferobin Plus capsule but I used the syrup instead. Wasn't even faithful with the dosage as it was an extremely busy week. However PCV has increased by 4% in less than 10days after. New Dr wants me to continue with the Ferobin Plus but on a once a day dosage for the next 2 weeks before going back to Pregnacare.

Whether its a coincidence or not, I thank God for the miracle of increased PCV

Just the pregnacare max and fesolate which I was given last month by my doc because my pcv was on the borderline. I changed from original to max at 12 weeks because of the calcium and DHA content tho

Although the folic acid in Pregnacare isn't as much as what is needed, it is still sufficient;. Though some doctors would insist you add folic acid while some won't especially if you are eating foods and vegetables that are rich in folic acid (iron and calcium).
Some mamas on here that used Pregnacare included additional folic acid but my Dr said so far one is eating well; baby is fine.

Please let's be observant with the packaging and where we buy our drugs from; there are lots of fake Pregnacare.

Haaaa 400 is the recommended dose and pregnacare contains it. I don’t understand why your doc would say so, unless you in particular needs a higher dose.

Please always check every drug or supplement with your Dr before taking. Even the mildest of prescription. I was told taking supplements isn't so good for Pregnant women (as is written on them).

Please also make Dr Google your friend as most questions have been answered online by some moms and Doctors.

That said. Taking Apetamin syrup is NOT SAFE (culled from Google)

Birth story


I started having strong pubis pain on Tuesday, so I decided to go to clinic on Wed since it was ANC day. I was checked that morning and was told I was 5cm gone only for another nurse to check and said 2cm so I was asked to go back and come back when am having stronger contractions. When I got home, I prepared soup, make food, do necessary house cleaning, even made yoghurt that I sell and slept around 2am on Thurs. I went back to d clinic on Thurs morning to get my wallet that I forgot and d nurse insist on checking me and it was 3cm she still asked me to go back and come when d contractions is stronger. I came back, cooked, bath my toddler and wash all dirty plates and pots. I ate and bath too, the contractions is now stronger and 10mins apart, I took hot tea and when after d next contractions, I vomited all d food and slept for 20mins, I was woken up by another strong contraction which is now 3mins apart, while I was contracting, I was shouting a hubby not leave Mr alone. Her was helping to rub my back and I was just holding his legs, raising my bumbum like person wey wan do doggy Style. By 12pm, I told hubby that we should start going that I don't want to born at home. We got to d clinic, I just run like person wey mad man dey pursue, I was checked and 4cm since morning. A bed was prepared for me and d contractions become stronger and was trying to endure but when I cannot I shout. My aunt came and immediately d contraction came, I just hold and bite her shoulder and d nurse just sent her away that I was enduring before she came. Around 1:20, my water broke and I told d nurse but she said it is ok, I called d midwife dt is my friend and she said I should come in and I was checked. I was fully dilated and d nurses started running about to get my things. I was just shouting I want to pee, I want to poo, d matron said let us see it. While they were getting set, I asked if I can push and yes I pushed and baby was out at exactly 1:30pm. Then dis bleeding started as part of d cord or placenta had detached but Glory be to God, everything was perfected, I was cleaned and moved to d ward by 2:10.pm

This one is here to stay. Affliction will not arise again in Jesus name. For the serious malaria; I feel you do have to treat it as malaria isn't good for both you and your baby.

Please relate your concern with your Doctor as he knows what's best for you especially if he's aware of your history. I was diagnosed with malaria at 14weeks and had 5 days dosage of Chloroquine & Piriton injection.

Good morning mummies. This is my first time here and I have truly been blessed by all the testimonies here. I am a FTM, 6weeks and a few days and it has not been funny. Had a miscarriage last year but didn't suffer like this. This one, I have multiple fibroids, severe cramps which my Dr has given me drugs for and serious malaria which I refused to treat ooo cos its injection. I just tire but I am trusting God to see me through. Pls pray for me o.
