NOUN is a bad school to apply for studies.....Please don't waste ur time... they don't reply complaints, they have portal issues, non graduation of many students... I say am discourage with NOUN, it a failed university
NOUN is not a bad school, it's a terribly bad school. You need to experience the nonsense and corruption perpetrated at the Ibadan Study Centre. I can't advise my worst enemy to go to that school. After all the nonsense they face, the Nigerian society still don't equate it to other universities, so, what's the point? Thrash

Please, does the school management know about the massive corruption and extortion that goes on at the Ibadan Study Centre or is this what happens in all the centres? If so, the Buhari Administration has really betrayed ordinary Nigerians.

There is this saying that says ''If we don't fight we have failed, but if we fight we can either fail or succeed''. So forget the tuition part for now and put in some work. First, you need to decide on the course you want to study, To save you some stress start from this website http://graddecision.org/ to know the application process, So step 1) Decide on the course you want to study 2) Search for schools using a)www.msinus.com (open this website with a laptop, you should see a list of school and ranking for some of the most common courses, you can start from there b)www.gradschools.com c)www.google.com (you can just type 'msc in bla bla in the us in google' d) www.usnews.com e) www.4icu.org . 3) check up the website of the schools you find, to see the requirements. most schools will require GRE and some will require both gre and toefl . 4) Register for standardize exam and take it. You can register for gre as soon as you are ready and prepared to take the exam. Its done online at www.ets.org. You can also get all the information you need about the exam on the website. You will get adequate materials to prepare for the exam in this dropbox I created https://www.dropbox.com/sh/t9ot6d07hp1lkm7/AADL_dTihjEvNBRCBsmAcoXja?dl=0

TOEFL is an English test required by some US universities. though, some schools waive due to the fact that Nigeria is an Anglophone country.
For toefl, all you need are the speaking noteful videos in the link below, the ets toefl guide is enough to ace the exam for other sections. Just download the toefl ETS Guide from there website and the simulation test.
https://www.dropbox.com/sh/45tvc3ifi8wh8sh/AACXR5j6l3nsWK8vZx5P28TVa?dl=0

As for the Tuition, if you have good results (GRE, GPA, Toefl), SOP and LOR; US schools do offer assistanship to graduate students. This can either be Research Assistant, Teaching Assistant or Administrative Assistant. Depending on the school, if you get an assistantship, your Tuition will be waived and you will also be paid a monthly stipend that can take care of your living expenses. One advice, once you shortlist schools, send emails to the grad cord of the schools and ask specific questions relating to that course and funding opportunities, be very explicit.

Lastly, there are basically 2 admission session in the US, Spring (Jan) and Fall (August). Schools admit more students in Fall, so Its advisable you plan towards Fall 2018. If you plan to resume in fall 2018, make sure you submit all your application documents before ending of Dec 2017. If you don't give it a trial, you will never know.My philosophy in life is to always do my part, with that I don't get to regret later. Above all, if you believe in God,pray to him..if not, good for you.

If you have any question, drop it here and you should get more than one good answer.
Great info

Good morning, good people of Nigeria. Please, can someone direct me to a post where I can read about getting a PhD admission and/or funding? I just completed my MSc and I have no clue on getting over there. I'm not trying to take you backwards, I just want to be informed. Thanks in advance. I hope I'll be able to share my testimony here also in the nearest future. Thanks again.
TV/MoviesRe: What Series Are You Watching Now? Part 2 by Tacticalmind: 8:32am On Jun 23, 2017
Hello friends. Please, I need a TV series to watch. Basically thriller, full of suspense, no or little action, just pure interesting drama, more than 40 mins, a series you can't wait to watch the next episode. I've seen most of the mainstream series and the new ones, so tell me the best series you've watched and love. Please, be nice. Thanks.
Jobs/VacanciesRe: Has It Gotten To This Extent In The Country??? by Tacticalmind: 6:27am On Apr 09, 2016
Guy, if u can, get a certificate related to business, management or accounting, even if it's a two-month course. Getting a job in science related field is difficult and the field is saturated already, also with fewer science-oriented companies. Our surveys in Nigeria totally supports this. So, if u really want a white-collar job, go commercial and never say u want to practice ur mech Eng by all cost, good if u can, but not necessary. I don't advice students of nowadays to study science courses anymore, Nigeria is not in that stage of development yet. And believe me, experience is the best teacher, but not necessarily ur own experience, others experience can teach u as well.

Lol.
I'm in no mood for this. What you may define as rich, may be poor to me. Personally, a C grade is a Fail for me but it may be good for you so my saying "Poor" is relative.

Thanks.
Laughable.

OP, hope you don't go about announcing this CGPA everywhere? Because it is poor, sorry. There are higher 2.1 who aren't adding 4... whatever to their honors so keep it aside and just say 2.1.

First step!

Step 2, be consistent. Don't write 3.8 in subject and 3.7 in thread, I hope this isn't what you do in applications. Not cool.

I wish you well, soon you will open a testimony thread. Congrats in advance.
As much as the guy may have goofed, using the word 'poor' to describe a CGPA of 3.7 out of 5.0 is totally wrong.
CareerRe: Why I Refused To Confirm Four Trainees After Their Assessment Centre. by Tacticalmind: 10:33pm On Feb 03, 2016
Marxxx , I couldn't careless if you don't confirm any of them. Stuffs like this happen everytime in the industry and for sure, if I were your boss and you confirm anyone that later messes up, I'll surely put the blame on you. Candidates get disqaulified at job interviews for doing something as small as eating two apples. We've redrawn employments from guys for talking too much, even while in their hotel rooms after work. So, I, personally don't care the methods you employed in testing whatever the aspect of their intelligence you're testing. However, what I care about is your arrogance and attitude. If you work in my department, I would sack you for your attitude, even if you're the best I've got. And I'll always give you a bad reference or correspondence as the case maybe. Working is not just about your efficiency in working alone, it has a lot to do with how you work with your team and from what you've said here, you're obviously not a team player. Those that you work for, if they're really professionals, would have sacked you. Or, they're just tolerating you.
Jobs/VacanciesRe: 7 Things To Consider Before Taking Up That Job by Tacticalmind: 6:15am On Feb 01, 2016
I totally agree. I know a 26 year old guy that left a #3.8 million p.a job with an official car because he didn't like it.

I saw the pictures and I was like, wow! Beautiful city and I continued looking through the comments and started seeing Igbo people derailing and insulting places like Ibadan and Osun. Even when Yoruba pple are appreciating your city, you started insulting theirs without them saying anything. Do you have to always compare and contrast? Beautiful City tho.

How can you be ever deemed intelligent by promoting tribalism? So many pple will see the topic of this thread and just think 'another fool is trying to start a tribal war'. What can you gain from this kind of thread than people never taking u seriously even when u're saying something meaningful. Na wa o.
