Chinedu Udoji (Enyimba captain on the #AbiaDerby ): "It's a derby but we are not putting any serious attachment to it. It is a must win game for us moreover it's a home game. We have been on a good run. We are not taking any game for granted. The league is very open this season and every point is important to us. We are ready to get our three points on Sunday. "

Sports › Enyimba Vs Abia Warriors Today By 4pm by taiocol(op): 9:40am On Jul 05, 2015
High-flying Enyimba International face city
rivals, Abia Warriors, in the biggest clash of
the Glo Premier League weekend in Aba on
Sunday.
Not many would have forgot how the
Umuahia-based visitors shocked the six-time
league champions in front of their home
supporters a little above a year ago through
Cletus Itodo's looping strike over the Enyimba
goalkeeper Chijioke Ejiogu. That was of course
last season, a season where this fixture's
visitors were the surprise team of the first half
of the season.
They would eventually become victims of
those exploits, losing the services of two of
their key players, Peter Onyekachi and Chima
Uluocha to none other than Enyimba. That
has seen them struggle this season. Two
home losses and some unconvincing
performances away from home has seen them
unable to match up to some of the top spots
they enjoyed last season. Chisom Chikatara
has borne the goalscoring burden alone. New
recruit Bolaji Sakin has tried to step into
Onyekachi's goalscoring shoes but the returns
have been few and far between. They have
also moved away from their home ground in
Umuahia after the League Management
Company deemed their turf below standard.
At the other corner of the state, Enyimba have
simply been phenomenal so far this season,
presenting themselves as worthy contenders
for the title this season. Currently on an eight-
match unbeaten run, winning thrice away
from home as well as having the most number
of points on the road, many are inclined to
believe that even Kano Pillars have given up
on a title chase despite this being the start of
the season.
In second place yet tied on points with league
leaders Sunshine Stars, Enyimba could go top
of the Glo Premier League pile if Kadiri
Ikhana's men win in the Abia Derby and
results elsewhere involving Lobi Stars versus
Sunshine Stars ends in a stalemate. Christian
Obiozor and new goalscoring sensation Ifeanyi
George appear to have finally become the last
part of a missing puzzle while Mfon Udoh
remains sidelined.
However when these two sides meet, every
preceding intro would be flung out of the
window. As always, the Enyimba stadium will
be filled to the rafters. Just a minute section
of the stadium will be touting for the team in
red (Abia Warriors), but make no mistakes
about it, this will not be an easy game for
Enyimba. They have drawn twice at home
already this season - to Akwa United and Giwa
FC, and although that was before they began
this unbeaten run. They know they face a
different kind of test in Abia Warriors.
Chikatara will as always remain a threat.
Released from the Under-23 national team
camp for this tie, Ikhana will most likely assign
Enyimba's longest-serving and most reliable
defender Emma Anyanwu to keep tabs on the
striker who already has seven goals this term.
At the other end, captain Austin Obaroakpo
and Nnaemeka Anyanwu will find a way to
contain Obiozor and Ifeanyi George who both
netted twice in their last two games. Uluocha
might get a start in the middle against his
former employers and his job description will
be to stop Ifeanyi Onyeali, the engine room of
this Abia Warriors side. Yet another battle will
be between Ezekiel Bassey and Ndifreke
Effiong, the full back who ranks as one of the
best free kick specialists in the league.
Can Abia Warriors stop Enyimba, who are
currently on an eight-game unbeaten run?
Find out when Enyimba host Abia Warriors on
Sunday. The match will be live and available
on SuperSport 9 from 4pm.

Sports › Heartland V FC Ifeanyiubah Today By 4pm by taiocol(op):
The Owerri side are plotting the fall of the Nnewi
team after their opponents’ surprise loss at home to
Wikki Tourists at the weekend in this game to be
played in Port Harcourt
Heartland have been exploiting all the contacts they
have to ensure that their NPFL Week 15 home tie
against FC IfeanyiUbah does not take place in Oba
but another venue because of their alleged closenes
and familiarity with the stadium. So Liberation
Stadium, Port Harcourt has been mooted as the
likely venue for Wednesday’s game.
The Naze Millionaires’ Dan Anyiam Stadium in Ower
is undergoing repairs so Heartland have elected to
play their home matches at the Rojenny Sports
Complex, Oba after the League Management
Company (LMC) suspended their regular home and
declared it unfit to host league matches.
They faced FC Taraba in Oba and won 2-0 but they
are working hard to ensure that their next home
game does not take place there so that their
opponents will not have better advantage over them
FC IfeanyiUbah lost their home invincibility on
Sunday when they were beaten 1-0 by Wikki
Tourists in Oba and are desperate to recoup the lost
points as early as possible. They would have loved
Heartland to remain in Oba for Wednesday’s match
but sources within the Owerri side told Goal that
nothing of the sort will happen.
Heartland’s Media Officer, Cajetan Nkwopara told
Goal that the Naze Millionaires are targeting a home
win as they are battle ready to add the three points
to their haul and to also improve on their standings
on the table.
“We will always take all our games seriously and
against FC IfeanyiUbah we are leaving no stone
unturned in our bid to get all points. I need to
reaffirm to you that the choice of Rojenny Stadium,
Oba is out of the picture. We are absolutely ready
for this and with God on our side, the result will be
in our favour,” Nkwopara told Goal.
Heartland are sixth on the log with 22 points from 1
matches while FC IfeanyiUbah are fifth with 23
points from same number of games.

Aspa jersey in the NPFL, i give it to Heartland Fc. They've tried different combinations each season with their red and white and its attractive. This is the 4th year in a row now. Not these plain coloured jersey combos i see on the pages of sport papers.

Kwara to are good. Then others should try modify the shorts for the jerseys. Seems they do a "are you new, come try this pair on" kinda thing.
