Materialism is different from the biblical 'rich'. In the bible, if you could afford basic things like food, clothing and shelter, you were regarded as rich. Jesus was not poor but he became poor (died, stripped of clothes) on the cross so you can be rich (never in want).

Being materialistic will definitely make you miss heaven. Jesus didn't die to make you materialistic. He died to make you rich (comfortable, so as not to be tempted to sin). If you are materialistic, you wouldn't be able to serve God.

Bishop Oyedepo would never tell you this because he is just as greedy as the rest of you.
