Abuja – The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has advised candidates for Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) not to panic over the delay in getting their examination centres.

Dr Fabian Benjamin, the Head of Media and Information of the board gave the advice in a telephone interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Saturday in Abuja.


Benjamin said although the crosschecking of prospective candidates data would end by 9p.m on Saturday none of them has been given examination centre. He said that candidates would be given their examination centres before the examination date. “Candidates are just concluding their registrations, so no one has received centre for the examination starting from May 13. “Hopefully by next week they will start getting their centres, so there is no cause for worry,” he said. He, nevertheless, urged all the UTME candidates to always check their emails for further updates. The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board said it had so far registered more than 1.7 million candidates for the 2017 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination across the country.

NORRISTOWN, Pa. — A longtime suburban Philadelphia defense attorney convicted of having raped an unconscious client at her apartment has been sentenced to 10 to 30 years in prison.

Fifty-seven-year-old Vincent Cirillo Jr. was sentenced Monday in Montgomery County Court. He said he was “ashamed and embarrassed” and had disgraced the name of his father, a late Superior Court judge

But Cirillo continued to maintain his innocence, insisting as he did during his trial that the August 2015 encounter with the 22-year-old woman was consensual. The woman told authorities that she believed she was drugged.

Judge Steven O’Neill called Cirillo’s account of events “convoluted, distorted or delusional.

Defense attorney Nino Tinari, who earlier called the convictions “against the weight of the evidence,” said he and his client would proceed with their appeal.

The infamous hacktivist group Anonymous has released a chilling new video — urging people across the globe to “prepare” for World War 3 — as the US and North Korea continue to move “strategic pieces into place” for battle.

“All the signs of a looming war on the Korean peninsula are surfacing,” the group says in the ominous six-minute clip, posted on YouTube over the weekend.

According to Anonymous, President Trump’s test of the Minuteman 3 intercontinental ballistic missile last week — coupled with a recent warning from Japanese officials to citizens, telling them to make preparations for a possible nuclear attack — are ultimately proof that all signs are pointing to a major conflict between the US and North Korea.

In addition, China reportedly has urged its citizens in the Hermit Kingdom to return home as tensions continue to escalate over their nuclear weapons program.

“This is a real war with real global consequences,” the group explains. “With three superpowers drawn into the mix, other nations will be coerced into choosing sides, so what do the chess pieces look like so far?”

“The pragmatic Chinese, it seems, are starting to lose their patience.”

Another surefire sign that war is imminent, according to Anonymous, is the recent talks between President Trump and Philippines President Rodrigo Duterte.

The pair spoke a little over a week ago to discuss the situation with North Korea and other regional security threats. A readout later claimed that relations between the two countries were “heading in a very positive direction.”

“When President Trump starts reaching out to those like President Rodrigo Duterte of the Philippines to assure they are on the same page, one must start to wonder,” Anonymous says in the video. “However, even Duterte has advised the US to back away from Kim Jong Un.”

The group concludes the video with an eerie message for those watching around the world.

“Prepare for what comes next,” they say. “We are Anonymous. We are Legion. We do not forgive. We do not forget.”

For the 2017 MET Gala held at the Museum of Art in New York, the son of legendary acts Will Smith and Jada Smith stepped out for the event in a full black getup, the odd thing out being the chopped off dreadlocks he carried artfully like a talisman.

Jaden lost his dreadlocks on April 11, when his father Will Smith took to his Facebook page to announce that he has chopped off the boy’s hair. The photos went viral and triggered hilarious memes.

One of the stars of Jenifa’s diary Olayode Juliana popularly known as Toyosi in the series has responded to the alleged beef the media says she has with her sponsor Funke Akindele.

The news became viral that the actresses had a disagreement that led to the departure of Toyosi on the comic series which gave her fame. In her response, Olayode says she feels unhappy that many have insulted her for biting the fingers that fed her without hearing anything from her or even confirming the authenticity of the Story.
