As I headed back into the main party building, I couldn't help but notice the uneasiness etched on Olamide's face. Her expression seemed to ask more questions than I could answer. I slipped into the chair reserved for me, but my mind was preoccupied with Olamide's peculiar look. It made me question my decision regarding Taiwo. "Maybe some things are better left alone," I thought to myself, aware that my friendship with Adedayo was already on shaky ground. And now, Olamide seemed to be harboring jealous feelings. Just as I was lost in thought, my phone buzzed with a notification from Olamide: "Meet me in the toilet." I raised an eyebrow as I read the notification from Olamide. What could she possibly want to talk to me about in the toilet? I was intrigued and a little concerned. I made my way to the toilet, my mind racing with possibilities. When I arrived, Olamide was already there, her eyes flashing with a mixture of anger and hurt. The air was thick with tension, and I could feel the weight of her emotions bearing down on me. "What's going on, Olamide?" I asked, trying to keep my tone neutral. "You know exactly what I'm talking about, Quadri," she spat, her voice low and venomous. "Taiwo. You're really falling for her, aren't you?" I sighed, rubbing my temples. This was not a conversation I wanted to have. "Olamide, what's going on? You're acting really strange." "Strange?" she repeated, her eyes blazing. "You think I'm being strange? You're the one who's being strange, Quadri. You're throwing away what we have for some...some..." "Some what, some what Olamide?" I retorted back. I thought what we had was just a one-time thing, a one-time sacrilegious sex that was not meant to happen. She trailed off, her face twisted in anger. I realized that Olamide was jealous, and it was clear that she had feelings for me that went beyond that one night. The silence between us was palpable, and I could feel the tension building. And then, out of the blue, she uttered, "Bleep me again." |

Taiwo's eyes sparkled as she began to share more about her passions and interests. "I've always loved fashion," she said, her voice filled with enthusiasm. "I used to spend hours sketching designs and dreaming up new ideas. But it wasn't until I started freelancing that I realized I could turn my passion into a career." As Taiwo spoke, I found myself becoming more and more captivated by her. Her energy was infectious, and I couldn't help but feel drawn to her creativity and drive. Out of the blue,I asked Taiwo, my voice casual but hopeful. "Would you like to grab coffee with me sometime? Maybe we could continue this conversation in a quieter setting." Taiwo's eyes sparkled, and she smiled, her lips curving upward. "I'd love to," she said, her voice barely above a whisper. My heart skipped a beat as I grinned back at her. "Great," I said, feeling a sense of excitement. "I'll give you my number, and we can set something up." As we exchanged numbers, our fingers touched, sending a spark of electricity through my body. I felt a sense of anticipation, wondering what might happen next. As we said our goodbyes and headed back to the party, I couldn't help but feel a sense of hope. Maybe, just maybe, I'd add Taiwo to the list of conquered girls. "I've always been fascinated by people who can turn their passions into careers," I said, smiling at Taiwo. "I've always felt like I'm still searching for mine." Taiwo's eyes locked onto mine, and I could sense a spark of curiosity. "What do you mean?" she asked, her voice soft and encouraging. I took a deep breath, feeling a sense of vulnerability wash over me. "I've always felt like I'm just going through the motions," I admitted. "I'm very good with my herbs business, a nice apartment, but sometimes I feel like something's missing. Like I'm just waiting for something more to come along,I'm just waiting for my music career to get the needed boost." Taiwo's expression was thoughtful, and I could sense her empathy. "I think we all feel that way sometimes," she said. "Like we're just searching for something more." Listened to few of your songs on Olamide's phone and I can't help but admit that they're cool... As we stood there, the city lights twinkling around us, I felt a sense of connection with Taiwo that I couldn't ignore. |
