[s]Criminals disguising as herdsmen to deceive the public since 2009. embarassed

The kidnappers, the usual suspects, have now stooped to the lowest level to tarnish the image of hard working Fulani herdsmen. The herdsmen do not need millions of naira for anything, they live very simple, peaceful lives.

This new attempt by the kidnappers to hide their identities falls flat on its face.

The real kidnappers here are obviously southerners. This is not the first time that these criminals have dressed up as herdsmen to perpetrate their crimes. They even cross dress as women to escape prosecution, at times. nansense[/s]!
imbecilic response. So the farm staff don't know Fulani herdsmen when they see them or what ? You even conveniently skipped earlier altercations Falae had with these marauders and their modus operandi historically when they attack communities. Please use that head occupying your neck

Now, I am a student, furthering my studies. And he is working, he has worked for sometime too.
Ok, so I have some money that I am saving to do something later next year, when I will be graduating. But my fear is that he doesn't sound like he will give me back this money. Two, I have a problem with him wearing a 93k shoe in this harsh economy knowing that the money can be saved and invested in something of worth. His choice at the end of the day sha.

Do you think I should buy ithuh Opinions pls
from what i deduced while reading your chat messages, your so called boyfriend isn't that "into you" at least not enough to take seriously hence the warning he gave for you not to address him as husband (be wise) That aside, there's nothing wrong buying gifts or luxury goods for your date but that's only if you can afford it of which as a student, he should have shown remorse while making demands from you (I'm a guy but i still think that's heartless of him) then again, what do i know ? If the amount won't pain you, just get it for him but don't expect a refund or the relationship to even go anywhere at least till after the "talk" he said you guys need to have.

The Nigeria Sovereign Investment Authority (NSIA) Sunday assured Nigerians that all funds and assets managed by it remained intact and fully accounted for.
It added that its funds had been invested profitably, realising a net comprehensive income of N15.8billion in the year ended December 31, 2014, compared to N505 million recorded in the 15 months ended December 31, 2013.
This was disclosed in a statement by the management in an apparent reaction to allegations by Edo State Governor and Chairman of the National Economic Council (NEC) Ad-hoc Committee on the management of the Excess Crude Account (ECA) and related federation accounts issues, Mr. Adams Oshiomhole, that the managers of the Sovereign Wealth Fund (SWF) could not account for $700 million out of the $1billion contributed for the fund.
The NSIA further noted that the detailed audited financial statement for the year ended 2014 had been published on March 28, 2015, and made available on its website for the public to access, adding that the annual report was subsequently issued by the NSIA in September 2015.
It stated that the seed capital of $1billion provided in 2012 had been managed in three different ring-fenced funds including 20 per cent in stabilisation fund; 40 percent in Future Generation Fund and 40 percent in Nigeria Infrastructure Fund respectively.
It said the assets invested in each fund were detailed in the annual report.
“The NSIA states categorically that it has never been invited by the Ad-hoc Committee on the Management of Excess Crude Account proceeds and accruals of the National Economic Council (NEC) to make a submission on its operations in the first instance. Neither did it make any presentation or submission whatsoever to the Ad-hoc Committee. However, the Management of NSIA remains open and available to provide details on its operations and accounts to all its stakeholders,” the statement said.
Continuing, it noted: “Furthermore, the NSIA wishes to state that it has made no investment in the rail sector, even though it remains an area of interest. And, of its total commitment to the Second Niger Bridge project, only $2.2million has been disbursed for project development-related consultancy costs. In addition, N10.3billion was disbursed on early construction works on behalf of the Federal Ministry of Works. This has been addressed in previous press statement and briefings by the NSIA.
“Out of the 15 sectors of interest for the Nigeria Infrastructure Fund, the immediate areas of focus are: motorways, power, agriculture, real estate and healthcare. The Future Generations Fund invests in a diversified range of assets covering public and private equities, hedge funds and “other diversifiers” using the services of best-in-class investment managers and global fund custodians. The stabilisation fund targets the preservation of capital.”
It added that NSIA’s accounts are audited quarterly and annually by PricewaterhouseCoopers, an international firm of auditors, using the International Financial Reporting Standard (IFRS).

Deltagiant:
You've got to first ask yourself why the North or Arewa is politically moving forward. The answer is their firm belief in the "one north" ideology, irrespective of the differing geo poltical zones there. The so called Niger delta is the political chess board of the owners of Nigeria whose homeland is over 1000 km away. Therefore, the politically haphazard detachment called Niger delta suits the thieving interests of the "leaders" therein and those coming from afar. Jonathan's era showed that we are minor players. For when It got tough, our vulnerability became obvious, thanks to the SE. In essence, there is need for an Arewa-like concept in the old East and Mid western region. It will become bigger and fearsome.

If we can get this right, every other thing will fall into place.
thank you very much, the words couldn't have come out more brilliantly

[s]You'll never change and you will never learn. Do we need to dig up your posts where you spoke with certainty about how GEJ will carry the day and show Tinubu, Buhari et al who is "the most influential politician in Nigeria"? Or shall I remind you of how you pledged to deactivate your account if Buhari won in a certain State he actually did in the end? Yet, showing you have no shame or honour, you are still here and posting.

You have been discredited many times here yet you never learn. Keep turning things illogically on its head, in ignorance of the Nigerian political truth and reality, to speak as if a Senate President can really stand in the way of a determined President especially when the North, a region that feel it was cheated of power over the Yar Adua saga, will always throw Saraki into the lions den than threaten Buhari's Presidency. Perhaps you and your household will protect Saraki. In a battle of supremacy with Buhari, the North will cut Saraki off pronto and the SW will be disinterested in helping him. even SE and SS senators will quickly be whipped into line because those guys are about self-interest while you live to come to Nairaland to talk sentimentally about what you want which, logically, is not feasible. I don't know when you will understand politics is about permanent interest and not permanent enemies/friends. You always talk sentimentally and I have not notice where you have once made logical sense or spoken as if you acknowledge the reality of things. Saraki is a goner if indeed Buhari wants him gone. So also Ekweremadu.[/s]

There is no need stating the fact that the Niger delta region is the goose that lays the golden eggs which feeds Nigeria. There's also no need stating the obvious that the Niger delta lags way behind developmentally when compared to other regions or like their fellow oil producing peers in other parts of the world.
It is a sad fact that most of our political office holders and appointees (governors, commissioners, NDDC board/chairmen, Niger delta ministers & officials, Amnesty office etc) failed the region especially during an era of unprecedented oil boom and this is evidenced by the almost complete lack of basic infrastructure for citizens.
Our political leaders have clearly failed us but by our tenacious nature, we do not cry over spilt milk.
So I ask, what then is the next step ? Where do we go from here ?

Your contributions are needed please as this is a very serious matter and valid suggestions will most certainly be acted upon. Thanks

When last did you hear even a whisper of the famous "coastal road" project ?

There's no debate here and in fact this thread should be closed down except it's to proffer solutions on how to move the Niger delta forward. We are our own biggest enemies here, if you think I'm lying, take peep at the performance of the average ND governor since 1999.

Consider also the caliber of clowns who represented us at the last national conference then ask yourself why we as a region are stagnant.

White kid builds nuclear reactor and Homeland Security offers help

A Muslim teenager built a simple clock out of electronic components and took it to show his engineering teacher at school — but he was arrested when another teacher thought it looked like a bomb and alerted administrators.

Police in Irving, Texas, never suspected the device was an explosive device and did not alert the bomb squad, but they still arrested 14-year-old Ahmed Mohamed because he could offer no “broader explanation” for his clock besides describing it as a device that measures time.

When another 14-year-old boy built a nuclear reactor at his parents’ home he was invited to meet with officials from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and the U.S. Department of Energy — who offered their expert assistance, equipment and encouragement to apply for a research grant.

Taylor Wilson, who is white, entered his nuclear fusion reactor five years ago in a series of science fairs that eventually won him a trip to Switzerland, where he toured the Large Hadron Collider — the world’s largest particle accelerator.

Wilson, now 21 years old, later won $50,000 at a science fair for an anti-terrorism device he invented that can detect nuclear materials in cargo containers.

He demonstrated that device to President Barack Obama at another science fair organized at the White House.

The president also invited Mohamed to visit him at the White House after the Muslim teen’s story sparked national outrage over an apparent double standard.

A black Florida teen was arrested and expelled in April 2013 after her science fair experiment, which involved mixing toilet bowl cleaner and aluminum foil in a plastic water bottle, created a chemical reaction that resulted in a firecracker-like “pop” and some smoke.

The reaction caused no injuries or damage, but the principal of Bartown High School feared the device had violated school policies.

Police charged Kiera Wilmot, then 16, with possession and discharge of a weapon on school grounds and with discharging a destructive device.

The honors student was eventually cleared of charges and went to the U.S. Space Academy after a NASA veteran heard about her story and paid for scholarships for Wilmot and her twin sister.
