Even Alliance for Democracy(AD) that was a pro-Yoruba party was not seen as tribalists(Just as APGA is pro_Igbo). During PDP's campaign in 2003, Nobody said vote AD because it is Yoruba Party in SW despite that AD was formed by Afenifere Group. The nonsense started first when GMB stepped into the Presidential race in 2003(with the vote only muslim propaganda) but it wasn't much. However, since Jonathan took over power, everything has become tribal and religious. His campaign was based on tribal/religious sentiment, his Aide labeled GMB and his party sectarian that is promoting sectarian interest. The President went ahead to say a particular tribe is is government pillar. I don't discuss tribal politics and I like discussing objectively which the writer of the article didn't. Sabon Gari is owned by Kano People and not Southerners.

If you have seen my posts you would recall I said time and time again me saying that I was born in Kano and raised in Kano .
I was raised in the Gaiydi-Gaiydi(pronounced Jedi) area until it became clear to my Family during and after the RINEHARD BONKE SECTARIAN VIOLENCE ,in October 1990 that we were living on borrowed time.
We moved to No-mans land,close to Sabon-Gari an enclave of safety for non indigenes (mind you we are not igbos).
In all the years I have spent in kano since that time and all the times I go back to Kano from time to time ,Sabon-Gari is the least if at all affected areas of government presence and development over the years.Every thing that happens there happens as a result of the work of the people who live there :sanitation,water every other thing and this is inspire of the tax revenues from the area and surroundings.
You do not have to believe this but a drive through Sabon-Gari if your car can manage it will tell its own story.
Barcanista,I know you first instinct nowadays is to adjudge every word that comes from anyone nor pro APC rubbish but I will tell you if you are willing to listen why any southerner that has spent time in the North sort of despises the APC.
