Firm Writes PDP Presidential Candidate, Atiku Over Alleged Non-payment Of $5.9Million Used To Process US Visa For Him In 2018
An Abuja-based firm, Legacy Logistics, LLC has accused the 2023 presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar of non-payment of $5.9 million used to procure a US visa for him in the run-up to the 2019 general elections. According to the company in a letter to the former Vice President, he failed to honour his part of an agreement they had regarding the service rendered to him since 2018. “That you instructed your legal representative, Professor Maxwell Gidado, SAN and your advisor, Dr Samuel Cornelius to seek the services of our client to process and procure United States of America visa on your behalf,” the company said in the letter written by its law firm, Jurisperitus Associates. “Consequent upon your instruction, a scope of service of agreement was entered into dated 15th October 2018. The service of our client was to provide base on the agreement were specified in the addendum 1 to the scope of service agreement. “Our client diligently executed the agreement and you were successfully issued the United States of American visa which same was delivered to you.” Before 2018, Atiku failed to travel to the US in about 13 years over alleged fear of possible arrest or prosecution. His political opponents the situation to taunt and discredit him. His row with the US authorities began after the FBI investigated a bribery scandal involving William Jefferson, former US congressman, in 2004. Atiku was accused of demanding a bribe of $500,000 to facilitate the award of contracts to two American telecommunication firms in Nigeria. The FBI searched his residence in the posh neighbourhood of Potomac, Maryland, but no money was found. The investigators had videotaped Jefferson, who was the congressman representing Louisiana, receiving $100,000 worth of $100 bills which he claimed was meant for Atiku, but the former vice-president has consistently denied the allegation. In October 2022, Atiku returned to the US for political campaigns. https://saharareporters.com/2022/11/03/firm-writes-pdp-presidential-candidate-atiku-over-alleged-non-payment-59million-used

gozmok1: Do you know that Lagos economy is bigger than some African countries economy join together? All statistics combined, Lagos remain the richest state in Nigeria.
Do you wonder why there is massive infrastructural development in Ebonyi or Rivers State?
Why is Sanwo Olu, the Governor of Lagos not performing like El Rufai of Kaduna or Zulu’s of Borneo; war and bandits ravaged States?
Godfatherism is the only answer. For the past 22years, one man, yes one man has cornered Lagos. Amassing its wealth for himself while Lagosians suffer untold hardship.
Before you make excuses for him, Lagos was the number one metropolitan city even at independence of 1960. Lagos was the Federal Capital Territory for years before it was moved to Abuja, and so has large chump of our national assets and infrastructures which generates billions to both the federal and state coffers.
Intentional Oil companies (IOCS) doing oil exploration in the Niger Delta has their offices either in Abuja or Lagos till date. Tinubu is milking Lagos dry and the poor man on the street does not benefit one bit. Where is Lagos money going. Is it Tinubu’s pocket? If he becomes the president of a country like Nigeria, what do you think will happen.
Lagos is beautiful today but sit has always been beautiful before 1960.
If we allow religion or ethnicity to make you allow thieves into government, the poor will be worse affected. U must be mad, u are comparing sanwolu with El rufai and zulum? Sanwolu is commissioning project on monthly basis, those 2 are not even close |

The op is right, let me explain from my own perspective, a bottle of water in US is above a dollar but here in Naija its below 1 dollar A bottle in US =1$(850 naira) A bottle in Nig=100(less than a dollar) Would u rather buy a bottle of water at #100 or import a bottle of water at $1(850)? Go outside Naija and spend more or buy Naija products and spend less. If u are bringing ur dollars to spend in Nigeria, you'll have more money to spend but if u are taking ur money to US, you'll have lesser money to spend because of exchange rate,, u want to buy gadget from US and u must use dollars, our problem in Naija is that we produce little or nothing in Naija, let's buy Naija to grow Naija. |
