Politics › Governor Rochas Okoroocha Slapped By A Ghost, Imo Government Reacts.. by TamedWolf90(op): 11:27am On Aug 20, 2016 |
TamedWolf90: Governor Rochas Okorocha has been reportedly slapped by a ghost
– The Imo state governor was allegedly slapped at the state Government House
– Okorocha has reacted to the report of his being slapped by a ghost
Following reports that Governor Rochas Okorocha was slapped by a ghost, the Imo state government has reacted.
The state government described as false the report that Governor Rochas Okorocha was slapped by a ghost and is in an Indian hospital for medical treatment.
Governor Rochas Okorocha reportedly slapped by a ghost. Mr Sam Onwuemeodo, the chief press secretary to Okorocha flatly denied that governor is sick.
He also denied that the governor went to India for treatment. “The governor had travelled to meet with some of the investors who had invited him for further discussions on the prospects of their coming to invest in the state.”
According to NTA, Okorocha’s media aide said that his boss is a Christian, and does not know what it means to see “a ghost or ghost women”.
“He travelled with few economic aides, and we informed Imo people and the general public and as God would have it, two days to the planned trip, the daughter gave birth to a baby boy and he would use the opportunity to visit his daughter,’’ Onwuemeodo stated. Okorocha’s aide, the governor’s wife was already there with their daughter for what the Igbo people call “Ile Omugwo” (visit to a nursing mother by mother) and that Okorocha’s is visit is to see the new baby.
Onwuemeodo noted that in the event of the governor being sick, the information would be made public.
“Ailment or sickness has been there with mankind, the angle that makes the whole claim funny is the “ghost dimension”, and that explains how spiritually poor those behind this balderdash are,’’ he added.
Onwuemeodo blamed the report on what he tagged the antics of some of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) folks in the state.
“We accused them (PDP) of being behind the malicious audio because it came twenty four hours after the convincing defeat of the party by the APC in the re-run elections in Okigwe senatorial zone and the three state constituencies of Isiala Mbano, Oru East and Owerri West’’ he noted.
The media aide said that his boss is a Christian, and does not know what it means to see “a ghost or ghost women”.
He said that the governor is being expected back to the state and once that happens, that the public would be duly informed.
Meanwhile, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has accused the administration of Governor Rochas Okorocha of causing suffering in Imo state.
The accusation was made by Jimi Agbaje who is a contestant to the national chairmanship position of the party.
According to Vanguard, Agbaje who visited Imo state on Monday, August 8, to attend a congress of a faction of the party, complained that while driving into the state, he saw roads that were destroyed in the name of construction. https://www.naij.com/934799-controversy-ghost-slaps-okorocha-at-government-house-governor-reacts.html

Politics › Lagos Ranked World’s 3rd Worst City To Live In... by TamedWolf90(op): 7:31am On Aug 19, 2016 |
A report released yesterday by The Economist Intelligence Unit ranked Lagos as the third worst city to live, maintaining its position at the lowest rungs of the Global Liveability index. Several other global reports had also said that Lagos, with a population of over 22 million, would in the next few years, become the 4th mega city in the world, with a population of over 30 million. The city placed 138th out of the 140 cities ranked in the latest liveability survey, just above war-ravaged Tripoli and Damascus. “Of the poorer-scoring cities, 13 continue to occupy the very bottom tier of liveability, where ratings fall below 50 percent and most aspects of living are severely restricted. “Continued threats from groups like Boko Haram acts as a constraint to improving stability in Lagos,’’ the report stated. Escalations in hostilities in Libya prompted a sharp decline in liveability in Tripoli, according to the report, while Damascus, although seeing a stabilisation in its decline, remained rooted to the bottom. The top five best countries to live in, according to the report, remain unchanged from last year and they include Melbourne, Australian; Vienna, Austria; Vancouver, Canada; Toronto, Canada; and Calgary, Canada. The liveability survey assesses which locations around the world provide the best or the worst living conditions across five broad categories, including stability, healthcare, culture and environment, education and infrastructure. Lagos scored highest in culture and environment, followed by infrastructure. It scored lowest in stability. Three other African cities joined Lagos at the bottom rung of the liveable cities, including Douala, Cameroon; Harare, Zimbabwe; and Algiers, Algeria; ranking 132nd, 133rd, and 134th respectively. While no African city made it to the top 10 most liveable cities, five were in the 10 least liveable cities. Steve Ayorinde, Lagos State Commissioner for Information, could not be reached for comments last night as phone calls and text messages to his mobile number yielded no response. http://www.nigerianeye.com/2016/08/lagos-ranks-worlds-3rd-worst-city-to.html?m=1Cc : Lalasticlala , Mynd44

Politics › 5 Things That May Likely Happen If Republic Of N'delta Emerges by TamedWolf90(op): 3:38am On Aug 19, 2016*. Modified: 1:42pm On Aug 19, 2016 |
TamedWolf90: Niger Delta Avengers (NDA) said on Thursday, August 18, that nothing will stop its declaration of independence of the Republic of Niger Delta by October 1 this year.
This comes contrary to reports that the militants had accepted pleas to embrace negotiations with the federal government.
The threat as expectedly raised eyebrows in the country as many have wondered what would be the consequences, should the militants go ahead with the secession.
Here are five things that may likely happen if its done.
1. Buhari may declare State of Emergency
The civil war that seemed to have been avoided in March 2015 on the heels of former President Jonathan’s concession of defeat to retired General Muhammadu Buhari, is now looming large more than ever before.
This follows the emergency of militant groups with the Niger Delta Avengers (NDA), most prominent of all.
The militants group have carried out acts of sabotage on the region’s oil blocs in an effort to cripple Nigeria’s economy, as their call for the restructuring of the nation has continue to fall under deaf ears.
However, should NDA move to declare independence on October 1, President Buhari may be forced to declare a state of emergency in the states of the Niger Delta and declare an all-out war on the Niger Delta until the militants are wiped off the face of the earth.
2. The Economy may be Grounded
Since the day crude oil was discovered in commercial quantity and quality in Oloibiri, present day Bayelsa state, the resource has been used to sustain the political administrative live wire of Nigeria.
But following claims of marginalization and problems with resource ownership and control, Niger Delta Avengers have carried out attacks on the region’s oil blocs in an effort to cripple Nigeria’s economy
The group who, by destroying half a million barrels in oil from the market, have catalysed not only the latest rally in oil, but now effectively hold Nigeria’s fate of the price of oil in their hands.
Nigeria’s economy could be grounded should the Niger Delta republic emerge.
Niger Delta Avengers (NDA) has said that nothing will stop its declaration of independence of Republic of Niger Delta by October 1, 2016.
3. Mass Arrest of Leaders and Suspects in the Region
The planned Republic of Niger Delta could lead to the arrests of former president Goodluck Jonathan and other leaders of the region.
Buhari may be forced to summon an emergency meeting of the council of state to declare the urgent need to arrest the former president, governors and leaders in the region and have them tried for treason.
New intelligence report has continued to link former President Goodluck Jonathan to the Niger Delta Avengers.
The new security report indicated that the federal government had launched an investigation on the possible involvement of Jonathan in the spate of bombings in the Niger Delta region that has crippled the country’s oil industry and affected power generation capabilities.
A splinter group, Reformed Niger Delta Avengers had accused the ex-president of being one of the sponsors of the Niger Delta militants.
The Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta (MEND) also accused the ex-president of having ties with militants.
However, Jonathan denied the allegations, accusing MEND of plotting to assassinate him.
4. Republic of Niger Delta will Fire up Biafrexit
If the Niger Delta republic is declared, it could propel other agitating organisations like Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and the Movement for the Actualization of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB) to do same.
The agitating organizations will look to take cue from their Niger Delta brothers and fight to ensure they also gain independence.
5. Military to declare New Operation
The Republic of Niger Delta will give rise to a new military operation.
The Nigerian Army would declare a new operation just like the Operation Lafiya Dole to combat any uprising. But where the federal government sees defeat, it could recourse to a national conference to determine the unity of the government.
