feranmi84: Family who live in the UK This includes: immediate family - husband, wife, parents or children
grandparents or grandchildren
your husband's or wife's family
your child's partner or spouse
your partner, if you have lived with them for 2 out of the last 3 years
I dont have any of the aforementioned family in the Uk, but I have cousins. Does it (cousin) fall within immediate family?
Please i need clarification on this as I dont want to base my understanding on assumptions. Thank you. No it doesn't fall into the category. |

fabfiyin1: Picked my Passport. Empty. I don't want pity party sha. The things in the letter were confusing basically because I had explained what they said o didn't explain and believe I put the evidence they said I didn't but I guess it not my time to travel. I have travelled to uk b4. Had 2years visa in the past (2x sef) but I was single then, now married. Was unemployed at d time of application (just completed nysc), might have counted against me. Employed now sha so I guess I have something for future applications. I don't want to say they didn't go thru it well cos they had more than enough time. I guess it depends on how the ECO views your application I may not answer further questions tho. Thanks for understanding. I'm sorry about the outcome, these ECO never have a little mercy on people sha, nawa for them o! At least you have a job now, your next application would be granted. |

showstopa: I also wonder. I have sponsored my mum on 3 occasions including this last one and my whole family in 2014 and they were all given visas. It's not in the sponsoring but in the surrounding circumstances You sponsored your immediate family! That's okay but does it make sense for your uncle to sponsor you when he's not the one you are going to see in the u.k. You guys should always remember that the ECA that reviews the application first before the ECO are Nigerians. |

Otunla: Hello, pls do they judge based on past refusal in issuing visa when re-applying? Every application is based on it's own merit, meaning they will scrutinise your application based on what you submit in the new application "BUT" they always re-visit your previous application to find out more on why you were refused and to see if your circumstance has changed. (Just my opinion) |

Legacy666: Goodmorning all, I'm new here and want some clarification on sponsored uk tourist visa @ justwise, advisory, ekpotek, etc. I currently work with bank as contract staff for more than two years now, and my salary is 60k aside commission monthly. My brother in-law wants to sponsor my trip to uk as a gift for my annual leave around October. This are my questions;
1. Can an adult be sponsored?
2. Aside his bank statement and sponsorship letter, what other documents will I need from him.
3. Should he use his oil and gas company bank statement or his personal account?
4.I have less than 300k in my account for now cos I didn't plan for it, hope it won't be an issue?
Thanks. 1)An adult being sponsored is a red flag, the only time sponsoring an adult on leave can make sense is if the sponsor lives in the uk and is inviting you over(just my own opinion). Being a contract staff is also a red flag, meaning you have no strong ties to your country.(it's best when you are a permanent staff because a contract job can be withdrawn at any time. Earning 60k is also a red flag because they will feel you might run away if you get a better job in the uk(just my opinion). Someone else on naira land might have a better answer for you. |

I would advice that once you apply also register on TLScontact to monitor. I applied 27th june, so that makes it roughly 15 days to collect. Hi, please I want to PM you and ask some questions concerning your application, please do accept, thanks. |

Tarry: I applied with my wife on the 29th June for visit visa to the UK and when I tracked our application on TLS website it says, decision made and passport returned for both of us though we have not collected our passports Good morning, was your application a renewal or a first time application? Because it seems people who are renewing get theirs within the 15days time frame. |

veleta: @ Ekpotek,I agree totally with you,UK allows multiple Countries That Allow Dual or Multiple Citizenship. The U.K. has no restrictions on dual or multiple citizenship, according to the U.K. Border Agency. However, if you are already a citizen of a country where dual citizenship is not allowed, then you may have to give up that citizenship before becoming a British citizen. and not limited to three. In essence, you can have multiple citizenship here in UK as far as your nationality allows that and Nigeria allows that. Multiple citizenship If it's by birth or bloodline but not by naturalisation. |
Travel › Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by TatPat: 9:43am On Jul 18, 2017 |
ekpotek: .
We appreciate all the analysis that you have given. However, take no offense, you can have three nationality legally. It all depends on the country. I have a colleague born in the UK to Nigerian parents before 1983 and currently living in the US with three nationality legally (UK, Nigeria, and US). So its indeed possible for child to get three nationality! . |

Brightingsus: I saw somewhere on the TLS website that the original supporting documents would need to be photocopied by the applicant and submitted alongside the originals. Did anyone do this, or is it really a requirement since the original supporting documents would be scanned to Sheffield by TLS anyway?
Also, does the applicant get the supporting documents back after the scanning on the same appointment day, or would they be posted at a later time? The only original document you should photocopy are documents bigger or smaller than A4 paper. So what I'm trying to say is, when going to TLS, take all your original document and any original document that isn't in A4 size( for example, marriage certificate) photocopy it into an A4 size. |

McGibson: I've just got another mail now.
Your online application has been received at the UK Decision Making Centre. Your application is currently being prepared for consideration by an Entry Clearance Officer.
If you have made a Settlement application (except for applications lodged in USA and Canada): you must ensure that your UK sponsor has sent all relevant supporting documentation to the UK Decision Making Centre in Sheffield. The documents should be arranged in this order: application form and relevant Appendix* (See below); English language evidence; relationship documents; maintenance documents; accommodation documents. If documents are not received a decision will be taken on the basis on the information that has been provided.
If you have already had your supporting documents scanned in at the Visa Application Centre, or if you have already sent them in to us, please ignore the request for documents.
Please note that UKVI aims to complete all Visit Visa applications within 15 working days and all Settlement Visa applications within 12 weeks of the application date. If it is not possible to complete your application within this timeframe a member of our team will contact you to explain why.
If you have paid for Priority Service, your application will be placed in front of the queue and assessed ahead of other non-priority visa applications. As indicated in the terms of service, the amount paid for the priority service, as well as the visa fees, is not refundable if the visa application is refused or if the decision is delayed.
We regret that we are unable to respond to enquiries asking about the status of any application. Any status enquiry should be made to the international enquiry service, details of which are on the GOV.UKwebsite. Staff at Embassies, visa processing centres and visa application centres cannot assist with visa enquiries. You may also wish to view the current processing times for applications made in your country.
A further email will be sent to you to confirm when your application has been assessed and dispatched. If your application was made in a Visa Application Centre, the staff there will contact you when your documents are ready – please do not attend the Centre until you are requested to do so.
Please note that you are advised not to purchase flight tickets until you have secured a visa for travel to the UK.

justwise: 1. Its 50/50, though his salary is not bad that accounts in some way towards his home tie.
2. ^^
3. It does matter as one is expected to submit 6 months bank statement and payslips but if you guys will be paying for everything then that may help. Thanks Justwise. |

Good morning Justwise and every guru in the house I want to ask a question on behalf of my nephew, he's just 21yrs old, he wants to apply for a uk visit visa in December to go visit my brother(his uncle) for the xmas hols and by December he would have been paid his 3rd month salary because he just started working in September, his salary is 261,000 after tax and he also has about 800k in his personal account, my brother or I myself will be sponsoring his trip. So my questions are; 1) what are the chances of him being refused a visa based on home ties 2) Is 3months salary and his personal account enough for him to prove his home ties even though we will be sponsoring his trip? 3)does it matter if his salary Acct got opened in september which would be less than 6months? Please gurus, I need your opinion on this, thanks in advance. |
