[quote author=themusketeer post=62068669]Update:

Biometrics done -July 24th
Application received. - July 25th
Preparedfor consideratn - Aug 5th
Remains under consideratn. -Aug 17th
Called for escalation - August 23rd
Unable to make decision. Sept 25th
Unable to make decision. - 6th Oct

Decision made mail - November 3rd
Visa issued 31st Oct

Immediately went to the collection center without even getting the passport pickup mail. Got there, and was told not ready. Went back there 3:30pm.

Met someone there who was there for collection too. Got my parcel and it was bulky and the other person was flat without a dhl nylon. In my mind... my parcel was bulky because of the inclusion of refusal letter.

To cut the long epistle short.... I got the visa 2years.

Many thanks to everyone that has posted here . @justwise, @Brightingsus, @ ekpotek, Tatpat thank for your insightful advices , and everybody.

The wait was an excruciating one. 75working days. But the wait was worth it in the end.

Glory be to God[/

Congrats!!!

Brightingsus:
That's no issue at all. Don't try to change the name on the transactions. You must explain the transactions and highlight the fact that your name on your dad's statements is your maiden name; then include your marriage certificate. If you have been consistently doing this way of money transfer for like 6 months, then you would need to include your GTB bank statement as well as your UK bank statements. Highlight your UK bank statement with asterisk on the line of each transaction showing the amount leaving your account to go to your GTB. Then highlight your GTB statements with asterisk on the line of each transaction coming in from the UK reflecting same amount. Then include your payslips amongst other things you have. Then mention all these in your cover letter. This is how to explain origin of funds. Don't forget to include your dad's bank statements too.

With tact you will find out that making a Uk visa application is actually easy.
She doesn't need to add her gtb bank statement. It's not necessary, all she has to do is explain that she sends her dad a monthly allowance from her gtb bank acct, which is still in her maiden name.

I was denied visa. the reason is this
This is quite sad! Just try to package your next application to ireland properly before applying because some countries share the information on their database to other countries.

Hello house,
My Sons visit Visa was refused Though i will be making a fresh application immediately. He applied alongside my wife on July 4. while his has been decided, my wife's is still pending.

The Decision states:
You state you will visit the Uk with your parent (Singular. While in the application it was stated both parents). In light of their(plural) refusal (Yes my wife was denied also in 2015 but she reapplied alongside my son,. Moreso, i am a Uk citizen with a copyof my passport attached to hisdocuments, so how was ever possible for me to be denied). I am not satisfied that you are genuinely seeking entry for a purpose that is permited by the visitor routes or that you intend to leave the UK on completion of your visit(i Run a private hospital and i attached a letter stating my position as well as the CAC of the hospital. Also stated clearly we are going for a Family vacation). I am not satisfied that there are sufficient funds to adequately cover the cost of your visit and maintain and accomodate you for the duration of your visit, or meet the cost of your onward or return journey(Bank statements of over 8million and sponsorship was attached, likewise a letter, bank statement and utility bill from our host(my sister) in Uk were also attached). I am not satisfied that adequate arrangements have been made for your travel to , reception and care in the Uk......

Any future visa applications you make will be considered on their individual merits, however you are likely to be refused unless;
1. your person circumstances change significantly between now and your next application.
2. you provide compelling new evidence with your next application.

Note: This application is for a 10month Old ooo.
so sorry for this unwanted outcome, what @ekpotek said is true, apply for your son's British passport here in Nigeria, if not, they wouldn't grant him a visa since they know he is entitled to a British passport.

my question now is. with all this requested. can I just walk straight to TLScontact for my document as I did not apply for courier service? Or is there a way to apply for collection? please answer me.
Yes, go straight to TLS for your document, don't forget to take the document checklist you were given in TLS after your documents were scanned on the day of your biometric.

My cousins who applied also got the same message you guys are talking about... Personally, I just feel the Eco handling certain applications went on a short holiday and he/she just got back to work today and decided to send that generic message. So no cause for alarm.

Apparently my wife got this same message this afternoon. the annoying part is she applied alongside our son and our sons has been decided on 14th of august. Biometrics was done July 4
Has your wife been refused a uk visa before?
Did she also get the email that says they won't be able to meet the 15 workings days target?

Got this earlier today as well.. I guess we are on the decision queue now

Dear Sir/Madam

Thank you for applying for a UK visa.

We wrote to you recently to explain that we have been unable to make a decision on your application within our normal timescale. Due to it being our busiest period, I am afraid we need longer to make a decision.

Please do not go to the Visa Application Centre until you have received written confirmation that a decision has been made on your application and that your passport is ready to be collected. Staff at the visa
When did you apply?
Did you also get the message earlier that they won't be able to make a decision within their 15 working days target?

Nah, it doesn't say 'working' days. It says 3 weeks, which is 15 working days (a week being 5 working days). Those who got a decision on their applications for extremely longer would be tailored to their own individual circumstances.
Please go and check the processing time for May 2017 and the text on the page, here is a link https://visa-processingtimes.homeoffice.gov.uk/y/lagos-nigeria/visits-visas/general-visit-6-months-or-less of the processing time for applications from Lagos Nigeria for the month of May 2017 for general visit visas(standard visa). Feel free to go through it.

12 weeks (3 months)huh?? Nawa!
Abi? That's what it says in the uk processing times for applications done from Nigeria ... 100% of applications were processed within 60 working days and that was in May 2017, they haven't updated for June and July, which might even be worse.
Someone on nairaland got his own after 45 working days, then @yommieyommie got his children's passports after about 39 working days I think.

Advisory:
Been there done that it does not work as long as your application is not decided yet and as for the number only just make sure it is actually your application and you haven't stumbled on another persons page
You might be right, when I try with the M, it doesn't recognise, without the M, it brings a result. Maybe it's not mine.
TravelRe: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by TatPat: 9:52am On Aug 09, 2017
Advisory:
If they haven't decided your application Both M and GWF ref will not work.
Regards
The M reference works even if they haven't decided the application. when using the M reference, just put in the numbers only without the M. (Remove the M from the reference) and it would work.

Elders,

I'm really worried oooh.

Since the 13th of Last month, I have received the decision made email from Sheffield. I was advised that my passport would be with TLScontact in 10 working days....15 working days have passed now and TLS say my passport has not been given to them. I visited the British High Commission and I didn't get much help as the guards did not permit me to see anyone.

Is anybody else in this situation? Is it a common occurrence for a decision email to be sent and the reciept of passport delayed?

Any advice?
Have you called the Ukvi customer care rep?

Hi fam. Please I need clarification on this I intend applying with two bank accounts, both belong to me and presently I don't have the time luxury to move to one account and use it.
Here's my fix: On my international passport my name is stated as Ajah Obinna Okey that's what my CAS and one of the accounts bear. On the other account my English name was added: Ajah Obinna Christopher. Do you think this is an issue or should I just get an affidavit.
P.S I'm doing a tier 4 application.
hi, has ukvi gotten back to your mom?

Tatpat . Advisory. Brightingsus. please its a six months visit visa and I've not been to UK before now. I answered none there. what do yu think?
Yea, None is correct because it's just a 6months visit visa and you don't need the health surcharge number.
