If "omitting to declare and admitting you did forget and go ahead to declare it is the law", then why is he afraid of going to say this before the court of law? The case will be over in 30 minutes.

This is first time since the start of the saga that anyone is challenging the amount of $3.0m. Not even Onnoghen challenged the quoted amount. EFCC is claiming there are more accounts. Anyway, he has the right to challenge this in a constituted court of law.

By the way, I am not saying he is GUILTY or NOT. I am just saying he does not legal immunity and he is not above the laws of Nigeria, he thus should go and defend himself at the constituted court of law. But then, James Hardley Chase said "the guilty are always afraid"

He isn’t afraid of going to court, he’s only trying to avoid giving the govt what has always been their aim ab-initio, “put him in the DOCK” to intimidate, embarrass him & garner public outrage so he resigns not because there’s a merit to their case.

But as it is, he’s going to be docked & lawyers from both sides have been asking him to resign to save the judiciary from so called embarrassment, but as it is, he who’s down fears no fall, no less the president of Nigeria called him a thief on international TV without proof, he’s got to state his side to clear his name, there after he would gladly resign.

He would challenge that figure when time is right, there’s no $3m anywhere, what is there is a few thousands as at Jan 19th 2019 and how he got that much is known, he’s bankers are there, they’ve quizzed them. No case there.

He isn’t afraid, they are just trying to use him to settle political score hence asking him to resign while they fish for proof of guilt.

In his response to the Efcc petition, it was so embarrassing that he was asking them ( NJC) to refer to his last response to the first petition because it was like repeating yourself.

The CJN "de-robed" himself by publicly offering "forgetfulnesss" as a defence followed by indefinite suspension of the NJC meeting.

If he has any respect for his WIG, he should have not gotten himself involved in this mess at all. Can you imagine a CJN publicly saying "he forgot to declare an account with over $3.0m? It is a collective insult on the "Bench" and on the "Bar". After the public admittance, anybody defending him should hide their heads in shame.

The wise decision would have to quietly resign and hide from public glare, but then, he is not wise. If he is, he would know better than to go publicly and say "he forgot to declare". By that he admitted GUILT, because forgetfulness is not an admissible defence in a court of law, he should know that, he would have been taught that in LAW-101 class and he was the highest Judge in Nigeria.

Truth is, omitting to declare your assets and admitting you did forget and go ahead to declare it is the LAW and not what you saying up there.

How come you all are conveniently forgetting the fact that he did declare this very accounts in 2016, prior to been sworn in as CJN.

And please for Gods sake, there’s no $3m anywhere, that’s what the Govt wants everyone to believe, please if there’s is any credible info on the account balance do share.

No one suspended the NJC meeting indefinitely, it was Armed forces Remembrance Day. And what stopped the other members from calling an emergency meeting if there was any matter to be tabled.

Stop reading and swallowing a one sided tale line, hook & sinker

It seems you are still dreaming.

What has CCT got to do with NJC? It has been ruled that the former is not subject to the later.

They are not subject to the NJC; granted but judicial officers have first to be de-robed first, separation of powers rule.

The CCT is an extension of the executive, in this case they are the accuser, prosecutor, judge, jury & executioner & you don’t seem disturbed by what is playing out.

Today it’s Buhari, tomorrow our governors who are known to be very reckless would throw out a chief Judge of a state using this very process because he isn’t getting favorable judgments.

But then again, what do I know! It’s fine.

Only if you guys knew the story behind the scenes.

All the man has asked for is wait for the NJC, as that’s due process. Nothing more, if found wanting by the NJC by all means file your charges at the CCT or any other court, so be it. No worries there.

You issued a petition, allow him respond, he’s determined that his responses to both petitions be filed and kept for record purposes and not respond after resigning, as no one would take you or your response serious.

Both petitions are a replica & the only difference is the Joe Agi angle from the EFCC petition which they are saying they think the money paid in 2009 was suspected bribe but failed to attach any evidence showing that the said money is proceed from crime. Your thoughts aren’t evidences hence hounding him to resign as they know all they have wouldn’t hold up in any court.

Was thinking they would come up with something so damaging that the man would have no choice but alas, same crap. All they aim to do is intimidate , embarrass him to giving up.

You asking him to resign or you arrest him, he refused!

They came to him twice yesterday, he’s since packed his bags!

That was the threat, so it was expected.

If the CCT answers only to the president and if it's officials and chairperson are not judicial officers it then means the CCT is an institution of the Executive arm of the government. This makes it all the more wrong that one arm of the government namely the executive should have complete power to suspend the head of another equal arm of the government (the judiciary) without recourse to the third arm (legislature). This alone makes it unconscionable without considering the actual constitutional position which already prohibits it.

If then the CCT is not a judicial body whence does it derive the power to issue exparte orders?

That a government that has repeatedly disobeyed orders of courts of competent jurisdiction should hastily procure an order from a non court and proceed to act on it is very questionable to say the least.

If any executive agency could grant an order for the head of any non executive arm of government to be removed and it will be implemented then it is only a matter of time before the National Examinations Council NECO will issue an exparte order for the removal of the Senate president and Buhari will proceed to do so even when the constitution has given neither him nor NECO such powers.

This is lawlessness and in a lawless society NO ONE IS SAFE!

Thank you for seeing the big picture of it all.

They would soon tag you IPOB, Wailer, supporter of corruption not seeing the danger we are all walking into.

Today it’s Buhari there & he’s allowed to do this, tomorrow when we are all gone & a mad person who happens to be the president would refer to this same act and do as he likes not minding what the constitution says, then we are done for.

That’s why many people are saying follow the rules, it’s what would ensure we don’t fall in the hands of a dictator.

No one really cares who the CCT chair reports to or who’s responsible for his discipline, there’s no issue there. Though it would have only been fair for a judicial officer to first be reported to the NJC, before taken to the CCT if any case has been established, separation of powers rule as the CCT is an extension of the Precidency who’s the prosecutor, judge and jailer in this instance.

The NJC had already forwarded his petition to the FJSC as they had stated in their press release that they don’t have jurisdiction over the CCT because the chair isn’t a judicial officer so I don’t know what all the jubilation is about. He’s further stated that he isn’t even under the FJSC, well that’s left for him and the petitioners to thrash out. It’s got no consequences here.

What matters in this case is the exparte order he granted and the process with which it was obtained.

That’s the matter before the court of Appeal and if he’s found wanting there it wld behold on his paymasters the PRECIDENCY, as he claims are the only ones he reports to to sanction him, that’s still left to be seen .

Front page Ooooo

Op add

Some of you are really something else. You’ve attached the front page of The Nation newspaper = Tinubu = APC and you expect pple who actually think for themselves not to see thru your BS.

So what if Bar. Joe Agi paid money into the account or he acted as referral. What’s wrong in all of that?

If you don’t know, that money they are referring to was the opening balance that the man asked Joe Agi who incidentally is his relative ( you do sha know that Judges are real human beings and they didn’t fall from the sky) to pay into his account. He gave Joe the money and we talking of 2009 when he was already a Supreme Court Justice for 4 years already and you think he wldnt have $30k, how much was dollar then, don’t let poverty mentality cloud your judgment.

And who better than ask your relative who also owns an account there to be act as your guarantor, those are bank rules & the CJN can’t be excluded . Or maybe your don’t own an account so you wldnt know that it’s mandatory.

The question here is can it be proved beyond all doubt that the Said money is proceed of crime cos if not I don’t see how it’s a crime asking someone to pay your money into your account.

But then again, they wldnt tell you the mans responses and explanation so your likes wld jump on the easiest explanation and label him corrupt

When a Judge ends up throwing out all your rubbish you wld come online & start labeling them corrupt

They have a serious indisputable bond.

This explains why PDP got virtually all supreme court rulings in their favour all the time.
