ogawisdom: Communicate your budget and let her know your limit so she can adjust or make up the difference it isn’t about money, i just prefer quiet ceremonies |

ALOBAM: Just be honest with her! You could say something like, "I really want to keep things simple and focus on the moment." Emphasize that it’s about what feels right for you and your partner. You might even invite her to help with some aspects that fit your vision, so she feels included without taking over the whole thing. Thank you for this |

cococandy: Well that’s a bigger problem than finances then.
You like lowkey quiet ceremonies. Your wife-to-be likes big ceremonies
Meet in the middle? Maybe a medium-smedium ceremony?
What number of people counts as a low key event to you and what’s her ideal number of people? Meet somewhere at the average and you can both be satisfied.
Hopefully. My fiancée is not the problem, convincing her social butterfly mum is |

Dainy1: During one of my friends wedding, the mother in-law kept on insisting the wedding must be big. They gave him one ridiculous bill. That was how my friend played along till two days to the wedding, nothing came out. He kept complaining that the money he was expecting did not drop. Nau so the mother in-law shoulder everything from food, location for reception, decoration. All the logistics so that people wouldn't laugh at him. The wedding was sweet. They are happily married till date.
Cut your clothes according to your size, if anyone have an objection to that, let them bring out the money and spend it on your behalf. it isn’t about money |

cococandy: What’s your reason for wanting a low-key wedding? Is it finances or you’re just not into big ceremonies? If the former then you guys can agree on a compromise. DIY some of the things you would’ve otherwise paid for, find less costly alternatives where possible. If possible increase some of the money you are willing to spend and they have to agree to foot the cost of whatever extra is needed on top of the basic expenses that you are willing to pay.
If not, both of you can part ways. Resentment can linger if either party feels like they didn’t get their dream wedding. Finance isn’t really the problem, I’m just not into crowds and heavy flashes |

Zonefree: It's your wedding not hers. If you have to convince her, it shows you're not yet ready for marriage. So I believe we have preferences, I just need to give her my reasons and she accepted respectfully |

Natbrowny: Mayb difficult but based on some1s experience that i knw
He observed the woman and used all types of reasoning he knows. He did his observations close and afar.
He caught her when she was offguard and told her his plans and was able to convince her beyond reasonable doubt. He talked politely and respectfully and told her its not just his own decision but both he and her daughter's.
Mama melted coz d guy in question know how to talk and manipulate the unmaniipulative person u ever know. It took him just series of little talks and hints and ONE BIG TALK.. So no beans, u gotta work 4 it. I’ve had to convince the daughter though, because she wants an elaborate one. She’s accepted but not very comfortable with it, convincing her mum who has probably informed her different clubs and societies seem a strong challenge to me |
