I really dont know how to start and proceed and I don’t want to go through agent for fear of being scammed. Why not search Google for schools in Canada that offer your choice of Msc.Then e mail them |
Hello house, This is somehow related and I want to share my experience with British council IELTS. I believe this might help someone. So I sat for IELTS GT computer based sometimes in September 2022. This was my second sitting. I had LSRW 6 6.5 7.5 6 In my first writing and decided to improve my score by resitting. I prepared well and I was confidence about it that I will get a more good result. When it was past the normal 5 working days I didn't get my result, I mailed British council about my result and they responded that they have withheld it for investigation purpose. Was told to write a statement and explanation about the exam, which I did. Expecting a positive feedback. I was calling their customer care line everyday to release my result but they keep saying they can't influence the investigation process. From September till April 2023, no update. That same april I was just thinking about what to do, so I decided to check for British Council head office contact details on Google but couldn't see to find any but saw the contact of British council Manchester so I put a call through and narrated the back and forth with British council Nigeria seizing my results. The agent asked me to copy her in the mail trails between me and British council Nigeria so she can escalate it. Immediately after the call I did that. In less than 3 days Lo and behold, British council Nigeria called me that they want to deliver my result.
I was now even feeling fly instructing themwhen I will be available to receive my result. The result came out far better than the previous sitting because I got 9 and 8.5 in two bands, so I guess they were doubting my ability.
The TRF carried April Date.
This just shows how we are being treated as Nigerians in our own country.
I hope this helps someone out there [/quote Thanks for sharing this |

Kenn55:
All the western world countries are almost the same except for little variations here and there.
They are all credit societies where large chunk of their economy is driven by consumer spending.
However you have the choice to stay out of loans. For example, If you don't have money to go to school, then you don't have to study courses that would keep you heavily indebted since you will be taking loan to study. You can study in demand courses in colleges with grant rather than go to a high ranking university to study with loans. You can decide to drive a 15 year old car and pay for it in cash rather than going for a brand new or fairly new car with loan.
You can even keep renting instead of buying a house on mortgage if you hate loans so much but that doesn't make sense since houses are assets and not liabilities. Even though you owe money on a house, you can sell it and make profit when the time is right.
Note that an average oyibo doesn't care much about debt the way we do cos that is how they live from beginning and it's part of their lifestyle as built by their system.
You talked about savings but note that these western countries are not built for savings but spending. Like I said before, it is the bedrock of their economy. Besides, the structure of their society coupled with fairly good governance makes savings not to be a big deal.
Why do people need savings? In case of emergency. What are the do or die emergencies? Loss of job, health, accidents, loss of shelter, life etc. The oyibo model is insure instead of savings. This is why insurance is one of the biggest industries in North America.
In this place, your insurance is your savings while in places like Nigeria, your savings is your insurance because of the model our society is run. You see the difference.
Why would an average oyibo be bothered much about savings when he has insured against all possible emergencies? Life, employment, health, home, car, accident and even pet sef dey get insurance. These insurance coverages cost money but because of their mentality, they embrace it but majority of us Africans will see it as a waste and instead save those money in the bank and that would form part of our "savings".
So when you read an average oyibo have little or no savings, that is the truth but it doesn't tell the full story.
You asked a valid question but you need to understand how the society is built in order to properly navigate it. The choice to embrace the oyibo model or our Nigerian model or a little mixture of both is left for you. Thanks This is quite enlightening. I am an insurance person |

It is quite easy to get approval for minor if things are done right. I used a 12M POF and my 17 years old daughter was approved in 2021. Always better if it is the parents. What are the sources of the 21M?. and what documentation were provided to support the relationship and the source of the funds?. Where will payment for subsequent years come from? Etc. They seldom deny applicants of such age ( minors) genuine study visas . Request for the gcm notes. Re apply with correct documentations . He may need a legal custodian there , Sponsor also need to show evidence of streams of income to support tution fees . Seek right counsel from this forum & re apply Good luck |

Kenelly: It's not wrong information, you can use MBS instead of a normal bank statement cause it makes things less bulky but it's not advisable because some people have been denied visa simply because the visa officer could not access the bank statement through the MBS. Just to be safe, I wouldn't advice anyone to just submit a MBS.
Yes, people have gotten their visa in 2-3 weeks without the express stream but people in a hurry (like myself, I started late so I had just a month to gather documents and submit) need the express stream, and that 2-3 weeks thing is a gamble, it can very easily be 2-3 months (I forbid it for everyone).
Yes the express stream works perfectly, they don't exceed 20 days
Yes, MBS is preferable
Pls my people, regarding the news of the deportation of 700 indians let us be careful in selecting an agent and make sure you know the documents your Agent is filing for you. These Indian students had completed their studies and even completed their post study work experience. It was only at the point of applying for permanent residency that the fraud was discovered. What is this telling us? Any document you file is stored in the system and at the time of applying for permanent residency, they go back to it to investigate. Pls, pls when using an Agent be careful because some of the affected Indian students said they were not aware of documents filed by their Agent Hmmm. True talk. 1 Like |

post=119969419: ..... PPR ALERT ....
3RD TIME APPLICANT
1ST APPLICATION
self sponsored Bank statement 19M
Refusal reasons I have reviewed the application. the applicant is seeking to study in Canada. I am not satisfied that the applicants will leave Canada at the end of their stay as a temporary residence. I note that the client is single, mobile, is not well established and has no dependents. taking the applicants plan of studies into account D documentation provided in support of the applicants financial situation does not demonstrate the funds will be sufficient or available. I am not satisfied that the proposed studies would be a reasonable expense weighing the factors in this application I am not satisfied that the applicant will adhere to the terms and conditions imposed as a temporary residence. For this reason above I have refused this application.
They said funds provided are not commensurate to applicant income. Transaction shows lump sum source of funds unknown. Concerns about funding.
I Paid just the initial $1,500 CAD for Conestoga

Along the line I got my gcms No travel history No previous education Tuition fee not paid IELTS not provided Income no proof provided Sponsor 3rd party relationship unknown .. income ..pre assessed ... Family in Canada not provided ... Medical expired ...
Immediately I saw all this concerns I tackled it fast .. I already did a new medical so I sent it...
