Handing out a whopping N75 billion to Reps, & another N35 billion to NJC is insensitive, & callous. The only reason I can think of is - is largess for NASS (for approving the spending), & bribe for the judiciary, for a favorable PEPT outcome.

There is no Social Safety Net Register anywhere. The so-called Register is just another Subsidy Scam. Where are the beneficiaries? Their bank accounts & BVNs? How do you even determine who is the poorest of the poor? Has Buhari & Madam Palliatives rendered their accounts?

But they’ll rather pretend they want to share the $800M World Bank loan, & the N500B component of the newly approved N819B. Sharing it as palliatives is the easiest way to loot it. These are the same people that fed the poor miraculously during the lockdown.

Provide mass transportation statewide. Increase wages & allowances. Provide mass housing projects. Give the poorest of the poor bags of rice, beans & garri. But give it to them directly (no middlemen). That’s the best way to target the most vulnerable, & lighten their burden.

Nigeria itself is a contradiction. The “Big For Nothing” is just noise & bigotry. The world left you behind. Like Dubai & Ethiopia, the small island of Seychelles imposed Visa Ban on the Giant of Africa as well. Only a fool still travel within Africa with this paper.

Nigerians lay eggs like chickens. Your population is growing faster than your GDP growth rate. That means your Per Capita Income will continue to dwindle, & more families thrown into poverty. Who’s going to cater for 200m mostly indigent population?
