Infinix Note phones have lousy batteries. My Infinix Note 4 has a battery that has gone dead in just less than 5 months of use. And the charging port also develops problems quickly. I have spoken to other users and they have similar tales to tell.

Wow is that so. I think it depends more on how you use it, cos I have friends using Infinix Note 4 for up to one year now and they are still alright. Anyways, read what I said about international device quality in the post.

Gearbest started selling Infinix smartphones towards the end of last year, and while I was skeptical at first since you can easily get these phones here in Nigeria from Jumia, I've had cause to rethink. If you're in the know with these smartphone manufacturing companies, you'll know that they sell the best versions of their devices in international markets. For example, Tecno launched the Camon CM with 2GB RAM here in Nigeria and went ahead to launch the same phone but with 3GB RAM as the Camon i in India.

This means getting a smartphone from international e-commerce sites is sometimes better than getting them locally, especially if these devices are supplied directly to the local stores by the company and not imported. And what's there not to prefer about buying Infinix phones from Gearbest, as they are many times cheaper than what you'll see on Jumia. I was actually surprised when I saw the prices of these Infinix phones on Gearbest at that time, and now that they have some serious promotions going on, the prices have reduced even further.

My data is always on with my hotspot which I use to connect and browse on my laptop. And then I use messaging apps like WhatsApp, Slack and play some games from time to time. Since you have a warranty you can complain to Tecno.

Lol it's just over one month since the Camon CM was launched, and I've been using it since..it's still behaving normally. If you keep listening to "hearsay" from people, you won't buy any phone. Even some people's Google Pixel 2 doesn't charge in cold environments.

u know camon cm is 5.7 inches but u can hardly notice it because the narrowness makes it portable to handle.

The Mi A1 has the regular 16:9 aspect ratio so it's not as slim as the Camon CM. The Redmi 5 and Redmi 5 Plus, however, have an 18:9 aspect ratio so they are slim, like the Camon CM.

Find the device you want to buy on Gearbest. One I would recommend to anyone right now is the Xiaomi Mi A1. The cameras on that phone can contest with the iPhone X, and it's just $200.

In that case, you might have to go for the Camon CM or wait for another device with such a compact screen and moderate specs to be released in Nigeria. All the good phones I have in my head to recommend to you have to be imported.

If you're not aversed to last year's phones, you can get the Infinix Note 4 for around 52k from Gearbest. Otherwise, get the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4X or any of the Xiaomi Redmi Note series you can afford.

Hi, I've reviewed the device here. Don't know if you've seen it..

The Tecno Camon CM is a cool and sleek device to use, and as we've discovered in the Unboxing, First Impressions and Full Review, it offers a good value for money.

The Camon CM comes with a dedicated SIM and microSD card slots, and you can use two Nano SIM cards and a single microSD card (with a size of up to 128GB) at the same time on the smartphone. This is good in such a country as Nigeria where network speeds are unstable and you can't depend on one particular network operator if you're doing serious things on the internet, hence the need to use two SIM cards at the same time. And considering that it comes with just 16GB of internal storage out of which only around 8GB is free out of the box, a microSD card is almost non-negotiable on the Camon CM.

Like most of the recent smartphones out there, the Tecno Camon CM has its SIM/microSD card slots in a SIM tray at one side of the phone. For the Camon CM, you can find this slot on the left side of the phone. It's the only component present on that side of the phone, so it's pretty easy to find.

To open the slot, you need a SIM ejector pin. You can find one in the box that the Camon CM was packaged in, or you can just borrow one from a friend. Alternatively, you can use a similar pin-shaped object that can enter the SIM slot hole. This is how it looks like:

Once you get hold of this, simply insert the pointed end into the Camon CM's SIM slot hole and apply some force until the SIM tray pops out. It's not so hard to get this to happen, and you don't need to apply excessive force or you risk damaging the slot opening.

Once the SIM tray is out, simply place the SIM/microSD cards you wish to use in the phone, insert the SIM tray back from where you removed it and press it to secure it firmly in the slot.

It depends on what you want. The Camon CM is unique in its 18:9 aspect ratio and slimness/thinness, but apart from these, the Infinix Note 4 is generally better. It has a better battery, clearer display, better (or equal) cameras, front-facing fingerprint scanner, notification LED in different colours etc...generally offers better value for money. If you can afford it, I'll advise you to go for the Note 4.

The Infinix Note 4 with 2GB RAM and 16GB internal storage costs around N56,000 on Jumia currently, but you can easily get the 3GB RAM with 32GB internal storage version of the Note 4 on Gearbest for around $150, which is around N54,000. I wrote a guide on how to order from Gearbest here in Nigeria easily.

I hope you choose something that would satisfy you. I'm going to review the Note 4 very soon on TechAbattoir; I've ordered it from Gearbest and my unit is on the way already. Perhaps then I'll do a hands-on comparison with the Camon CM.
