Our phones have become part of our lives, we spend a lot of time looking at our screens – you’re probably reading this on your phone – so it is not a surprise that your phone could be affecting your love life. According to Match’s latest Singles in America survey, your device of choice and how you use it can speak volumes about you. The survey found that single people who have older model phones are 56 percent less likely to get a date in the course of a year. Women, in particular, mind an outdated device. They were 92 percent more likely to judge you for having one. The case is particularly bad for those who have a cracked screen, since it is a turnoff, according to Match’s data. Fortunately it’s far more upsetting to Generation X (those born between 1965 and 1981) than millennials (those born between 1982 and 2002). Though women overall are 86 percent more likely to criticize you if you haven’t repaired your screen. Apart from the condition of the phone, the brand matters. Android users were 15 times as likely to look down upon you for having an iPhone. While iPhone users were 21 times as likely to judge you poorly for using an Android. As much as we could dismiss this survey as “first world problems”, I do believe that your phone is a reflection of who you are, as much as your clothes and your taste in music and series. I don’t judge people for having broken screens, but then again, I fix my broken screens within 48 hours of the damage.

The Canadian mobile company, BlackBerry® in partnerships with TCL launches the last Android™ powered smartphone called BlackBerry KEYone. The BlackBerry KEYone is a mid-range QWERTY-bar smartphone designed and engineered by BlackBerry. The new BlackBerry KEYone is an all premium smartphone and the final version of the device codenamed “Mercury” from CES. It features a moderate 4.5-inch display with touch buttons in between the screen and the smart physical QWERTY keyboard that once made the company an icon. It’s got everything you would expect in a smartphone - a large screen, excellent camera configurations that will take stunning photos, the latest Android™ OS and access to Google Play to get any app you could ever want. KEYone DESIGN, KEYBOARD & DISPLAY The device sports an impressive designed distinctly different from other BlackBerry® smartphones. The phone gets additional durability with its aluminium frame and a soft textured back. The BlackBerry KEYone physical spacebar has also got a fingerprint sensor underneath as well as capacitive touch on the entire keyboard for effective scrolling without touching the screen. Its keyboard touch is sensitive and does a ton of neat tricks. The new feature lets you program all the keys to do something on a long press. For instance, long pressing the "B" button can launch the browser, or "F" could launch Facebook. It is undeniable that a keyboard featured smartphone feels smart in the hand than a full touchscreen smartphone; it is easier to operate with just one hand. As mentioned earlier, the BlackBerry KEYone has a 4.5-inch full-HD touchscreen with 55.6% to body ratio that offers 1620x1080 pixels resolution (434PPI). Its display is protected by a Corning Gorilla Glass 4 against break and scratches. CAMERA On the rear, you will find a 12 megapixels shooter with same Sony IMX378 acclaimed sensor as seen on Google Pixel - that has 1.55-micron pixels. For selfies imaging, this smartphone also sports an 8 megapixels front shooter with a wide-angle lens and a flash. SOFTWARE & HARDWARE BlackBerry KEYone runs latest Android 7.1 (Nougat) on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 octa-core SoC clocked at 2.0GHz, coupled with 3GB of RAM and an Adreno 506 GPU. The new KEYone offers 32GB internal storage that is expandable up to 2TB via microSD card. BATTERY The device runs on a powerful 3505mAh battery capacity that's said to give all-day battery life and support QuickCharge 3.0 with a 'Boost' charging feature that gives 50 percent charge in "roughly 36 minutes." CONNECTIVITY On the connectivity front comes the standard set of connectivity options, including Wi-Fi 802.11ac, 4G LTE, Bluetooth v4.2, NFC, 3.5mm headphone jack, and a USB Type-C port. CONCLUSION In spite of all the mid-range specs on the BlackBerry KEYone, BlackBerry/TCL still call it a "flagship" device and pricing it like one; the device is priced $549 (€599, £499). This is an eye-popping rate considering you can get other Snapdragon 625 devices around $200-$300. source:https://techlector.com/blackberry-keyone/

Do you also encounter the same problem with your laptop touchpad, where it won’t work properly, at times freezes or hangs when the charger is connected to power supply? Worry no more because I now have a simple fix for that, or should I just call it trick. Anyways, this is not intended to be any long article, though. Just a short kind of post. The issue with the cursor jumping up and down on the laptop screen can be so frustrating at times. I am the type who does not like working with external mouse or keyboard, so this makes me rely solely on any traditional laptop touchpad. I can’t imagine myself typing and dragging my mouse beside my laptop as if I am in a car race. Though, I still could not figure out why some laptop users move around with an external mouse or keyboard in bags. This short piece may not be useful to laptop users who love using an external mouse instead of the smart portable touchpad. Generally speaking, if a laptop touchpad hangs or keeps malfunctioning when connected to electricity, it’s likely due to a weak power supply or electrical interference, but this is not true in many cases. At first when I started noticing that my laptop touchpad won’t work correctly when on the power supply, I saw it as a mechanical problem from the laptop power connector. But I was wrong. Enough! It is time we fix that. How To Fix Laptop Touchpad Not Working Properly When Charger Is Connected To Power Supply Solution 1: Charger Distance From Laptop Distant the laptop from the power adapter when it is plugged to electricity. The closer the laptop is to the power adapter, the more it messes up. Tried it myself it works. Solution 2: Faulty Charger If the first solution did not work, then your charger is either incompatible with the laptop or becomes faulty. So, the only solution here is to change the charger. I hope at the end of this short guide your laptop touchpad should be working correctly without any freezing, hanging, skipping or dragging. Are you the type that love using an external mouse? We will love to know your reason for that. Please leave a comment below in the comments box if these above-listed methods work for you or not and have a beautiful day. I use a wireless keyboard and a wired mighty mouse (broken 3 wireless mice already and I can’t afford it anymore) with my laptop. The tiny size of the keyboard allows me to easily use it on the go as well. If you are worried about the battery, the 3 AA Energizer batteries last for weeks (if you turn the keyboard off when you are not using it for a long time). But a quick review is not why we are here, so let’s see why you should get yourself an external keyboard and mouse. 1. Less heat under fingertips Boy, my MacBook Pro gets hot when I make her angry. With fans hitting 4000 rpm while working on something resource-intensive you can literally melt cheese on the touchpad. Living in the city of Summer, Dubai, makes it even more unbearable to work. It’s not hard to guess that the external companions are the only solution. 2. More distance from the screen They say you should keep your distance from the screen, a minimum of 40 cm. But how is that possible when you are checking the latest tweets of your buddies (or something hotter), leaned toward the screen, like the letter C? Well, you know my answer: Get yourself external input devices. 3. More flexible screen positioning People who use computers for a long time, tend to sit in weird positions, often in funny postures. That’s very wrong, you should sit correctly (no one sees me) all the time. The point is that it helps a lot if you can put your laptop in a position higher than your hand, say 10-20 cm, to create a much better angle between your eyes and the display. There are many laptop stands that do the job for you, but I use a paper tray (works as a storage too) and I’m happy. On the other hand, having a keyboard and a mouse, especially wireless, helps big tim in presentations where you don’t have access to a big screen. Just put your laptop on the table and let the people watch your jaw-dropping presentation while you are showing a lot of skill using your keyboard across the room. 4. Lowering the risk of CTS Here comes the enemy of typaholics, CTS (Carpal Tunnel Syndrome). There are ways to avoid CTS, but for the average user, being careful while typing may be the most important thing to consider. In my experience (suffering from some minor pain in my wrists) the external keyboard could help relieve the pain. You can easily position the keyboard (and the mouse) right, but the laptop itself is less flexible. 5. More hygiene Did you know that the toilet (a public toilet to make it more disgusting) is more likely cleaner than your laptop? It is in fact 5 times dirtier than a typical toilet. I’ll make it quick by saying that cleaning external peripherals is way easier than cleaning the laptop itself. And if you are obsessive about it, just throw them out and buy new devices. Easy. 6. Increased productivity For some mysterious reason, I can work faster and type better using my external devices. 7. Better resale value for the laptop This one has nothing to do with health, but when you make more money reselling your laptop, you automatically feel a lot better. One of the ugly things about second-hand laptops is the shiny stains on each and every key, especially the space bar. Depending on the quality of the laptop, there can even be a bigger spot on the touchpad. Not nice at all. If you see my laptop (purchased and used passionately since Oct. 2007), there is no spot, stain, or anything like that. It’s all on my external keyboard. So a cleaner laptop means an easier sale, and hopefully a better price. |

A Facebook user by name Adebayo Ayobami Yinka, took to Facebook today to voice out and share his real experience with Ponzi schemes. He reveals how he made $6086.85 in just a month (December) and to lost everything the following month (January) down to 0.89 cents. He also posted the screenshot of his current earning of 0.89 cents. Kindly take your time to go through this long epistle to learn few things. ![]() Initially, I decided not to share this fate worse than death story with anybody, but then it dawned on me that if I don’t many of us who know zilch about living the laptop lifestyle will still belabour the point further that Ponzi scheme is the best bet for anyone who wants to be rich online. If you believe that making money online is as easy as rolling off a log or that with Ponzi schemes, one can literally become a millionaire online, well this think piece is for you and hopefully, it’s going to change your orientation In toto on how anybody can literally make a pile on the internet. Obviously, the main reason I wrote this think piece is to alternate that article of faith. So, listen up! NIGERIANS LOSE MORE ON PONZI WEBSITES WHILE INDIANS EARN MORE. WHY SO? The other day, while surfing the net, I came across a headline which I totally subscribe to and will like to paraphrase here: “Nigerians lose more on Ponzi websites while Indians earn more than us” why so? You see, since the inception of MMM in Nigeria, many Ponzi scheme sites have also come up with their mouth-watering offers. Offers like, “Pay N1500 and get and get N40, 000 in 7 days”, “Pay N12,000 and get and get N18 000 in 3 days”, “Pay any amount and get and get 900 percent of your investment in 24 hours” and so much more. I can assure you that, just seeing these mouth-watering offers, you will pull out your ATM card especially if you are a neophyte to making money online. But here’s the gospel truth: no real investment company pays a 100 or 900 percent return on investment in three, seven days or even in a month! I know some of us know this truth, but just like someone once said: “Nigerians are pig-headed.” No matter the warning signs you may give to a Nigerian as regards any danger, as long as there is something to gain, he will certainly ignore your warnings. Little wonder why the Indians guys cart away with our money! They know we are not contented and that we never learn from our bad experiences. Having said that let me quickly share with you what I called “my shit hits the fan experience”. Honest! I had a face like a wet weekend for like two weeks when this bad experience happened to me. I could barely talk, eat, sleep, etc. On top of that, I lost so many things. In fact, I was in debt! Please don’t get me wrong. I didn’t borrow money from anybody to do Ponzi. No, I used my personal money. All these happened to me because January was barely a happy month for me, so to speak. Even though Ponzi scheme didn’t just come to Nigeria lately, I got know about it in the year 2015. During the time of WONDER BANK and perhaps some other schemes, I was still at my mother’s knees. So, until lately, I wouldn’t know what Ponzi scheme is all about. The very day I got about it that day I was surfing the net, and I clicked on an Advert (if my memory serves me well), and I landed on MMM website. First, I had a natter with a guider whose name was Azubuike Vivian. She told me all I needed to get up and running and the benefits I would get. But no, I wouldn’t join. The year 2015 passed and I didn’t join any scheme. Now it was January 2016. It came, and it went, February also came and went. March, June, July and August all came and went, and I hadn’t joined any scheme yet. Now it was September, the very last week of September to be precise, and I finally decided to join MMM with my spare money which was N10, 000. After waiting to be matched to pay someone and for my money to grow, my payday finally came in November. To my surprise, I received an alert from GTBank that xx xx xx amount had been paid into my account by Esther who was matched to pay me on MMM. Guess what? That day I was on top of the world! Without wasting any time, I went on a research for better schemes that pay more than MMM, and I literally jumped out of my skin when I saw some schemes paying 50, 100, 200 and even 900 percent return on investment. But most of these schemes pay in BTC. Immediately, I opened a BTC wallet and funded it with the money I made on MMM and waved MMM farewell. Now guess what? I was high in spirits when I made 900 percent of my investment in just 3 days! So before November finally went out of the window, I already had $3,000 worth of BTC in my wallet and in the very first week of December I had approximately 6000 dollars worth of BTC in my wallet. This time, I decided not to sell my BTC out. I wanted to have at least $10,000 of BTC before I start selling out. IF ONLY I KNEW There is an old adage that says “Everyday is for the thief and one day is for the owner” Trust me, if only I knew the day for me to lose all I had gathered on a silver platter was near, I would have stopped at what I had got and sold out my BTC funds and reaped the benefit of being a smart investor. But no, I wouldn’t stop. I went on to invest more instead. Unfortunately for me, I first lost my fund on Helping Revolution, then MMM United and GMAfunds. But no, I wouldn’t stop; I went on investing in other schemes instead until I went back to nada. As I speak, all I have in BTC is just. 0.89cent. What?! From $6086.85 to 0.89 cent? YES WHY DID I WRITE THIS? “Why are you telling us this?” Perhaps this is the question that just popped into your head? But please don’t blame me yet. The truth is, I didn’t want trouble for myself because I had heard through the grapevine that Ponzi scheme is not a real business. That’s why it doesn’t last for a month of Sundays. While I know of people who have built their very first houses, bought their very first cars with the money they realised from Ponzi schemes, the number of individuals who lost their hard earned money is just on the high side. I know of 21 years old guy who made 5 million Naira in January from Ponzi scheme. And also know of someone who killed himself when he realised that he had lost 300 thousand Naira on a Ponzi scheme site. So guys let’s wave Ponzi scheme farewell and let’s do real business on the internet instead. If you want to make money that won’t give you heart attack online then you have got to do either of these two: offer a service or sell a product or do both! phew!... welcome from that I know by now for sure that you have learnt something and try to be careful or avoid any Ponzi schemes online as there are no Ponzi that can last forever. Thanks for reading! Have you also lost money ponzi schemes online too? please share your experience with us using the comment box at the bottom. source: https://techlector.com/made-6k-online-december-lost-everything-january/

The recent complaints of Diamond bank customers of been charged excessive amount of money for stamp duty has caught the attention of the bank which made them to quickly apologized and act in order not to lose their customers. We are happy to receive messages from some friends confirming the reversal of their stamp duty charges while some are yet to receive theirs. But my questions are: Since the bank (Diamond) claims that the stamp duty charge is a CBN directive that must be adhered to by every bank in order to avoid penalties, why are they now reversing it? Are they trying to test Nigerians intelligence? Why are other banks not doing the same? source: https://techlector.com/diamond-bank-reverses-stamp-duty-charge/

Do you fancy the idea of turning your non-touch laptop screen into a touch screen capable of all the gestures found on laptop displays with touchscreen? Yes, you can. This might sound like fiction to your ears, but it is actually possible with technology. A company saw this need and invented a device which they called “AirBar” that can instantly transform your laptop screen into a touch screen. Technical specifications of the AirBar Width: 5 mm Length: 373 mm Height: 17 mm (require 20mm mounting surface for 3 mm between AirBar and display) Cable length: 243 mm Weight: 55g Display supported: maximum of 15.6”, with a 16:9 aspect ratio, can also work with 11.6″, 13.3″ and 14″ screens How does the AirBar works? The Airbar is a piece of magnetic strip that you can attach to your laptop, giving it touchscreen capabilities. Neonode Inc –the manufacturers of AirBar – say that the AirBar works its wonders by projecting an invisible field of light on the surface of your display making it possible to interact with the screen as if it was a native touchscreen. It gives your screen the capability to understand Windows 8 and 10 touch screen gestures. They explained on their website –www.air.bar – that this innovation is made possible with their zForce AIRTM technology, which can be used for really cool stuffs. The AirBar allows you to use virtually any material on your PC display to interact with it; whether you are using painting brushes or you are wearing gloves on your hands, your screen still responds to the touches. How to use the AirBar device to instantly transform your laptop screen into a touch screen The device is a plug-and-touch device not needing any installations or calibrations to work; all you need to do is to attach the AirBar to your laptop and plug into a USB port and you are good to go. However, ensure that you mount the bar straight from one edge of your laptop to the other and plug the AirBar into a USB port. Caveat: your PC must be running on Windows 8 or Windows 10 or the ChromeOS to use the AirBar. Conclusion With only $79 you can transform your laptop screen into a touch-screen with this amazing piece of technology and it is simple to setup and use not requiring any technical know-how. To order an AirBar, simply log on to their website onwww.air.bar. This device is also available for Macbook Air users but not for other Macbooks. source: https://techlector.com/turn-any-non-touch-laptop-screen-into-a-touch-screen/

Do you know that your eyes can become tired when you spend so much time in front of your computer, and if nothing is done this can lead to something serious? It is equally bad to operate your computer in low light conditions such as during the night as it can interfere with your sleep giving you insomnia. In today’s tutorial, we shall see how we can make our computers’ screen brightness and colour adjust automatically to match the time of the day, thus, reducing the strain on your eyes. We achieve this feat through the help of a software called “f.lux” for Windows OS – it is also available for Mac, Linux, iOS and Android users. What f.lux does is this: it makes the colour of your computer’s display adjust itself to the time of the day, which is warm at night and bright during the day. The designers of the software say that f.lux makes your computer display look like the room you are in, no matter the time of the day. How To Automatically Adjust The Colour Of Your Computer’s Display Based On The Time Of The Day Let’s get on with the steps ready: • Download and install the f.lux software for Windows OS by going to justgetflux.com • Launch the software on your Windows PC • After it has been successfully launched, it would automatically detect the time and geographical location using your time settings on your PC and adjust the screen colour based on settings. You can also manually select your location if you wish. • You can also adjust the lighting for day and night in the Tool settings and choose from other modes like Safe Mode or Movie mode. For the graphics designers or those who rely on the accuracy of their display colour, this could be a stumbling block for them; but fret not, as there is an option to Disable for one hour. source: https://techlector.com/auto-adjust-colour-of-your-computers-display-based-on-the-time-of-the-day/

As it has always been with Samsung, it is traditional for the company to release two variants of the Galaxy S series. As expected, the case will be no different for the Samsung Galaxy S8 too. There will, however, be a little modification in the naming of the second variant of the Galaxy S8. Customarily, the word "Edge" usually follows the second and larger variant of any S series device, obviously because of the curved screen. But apparently, according to the leaked image, we won't be hearing or seeing about any device named Samsung Galaxy S8 Edge this year. What would be released by Samsung instead is the Samsung Galaxy S8 "Plus". This name could be an indication that there won't be any curved screen in any of the Galaxy S8 variant. Perhaps we may get to see a larger screen, or maybe better processor or camera. Well, we could be having a curved screen on the Galaxy S8 devices if the leaked image below is anything to go by. See image below. "It's going to come in two sizes, one with a 5.8-inch display and another with a 6.2-inch screen, both with curves and a Quad HD resolution", VentureBeat speculates. There are news making rounds that the Samsung Galaxy S8 official specifications could be unveiled at the Samsung Conference scheduled for February 26, 2017. There has been information about a March 29 release date too. These two dates seem to be the most likely days when we will finally be brought out from the dark as regards the upcoming Samsung flagship. The anticipation and thirst people have for the Samsung Galaxy S8 cannot be overstated. With quite some rumours and leaks surrounding the device, it only upsurges the crave for the device - something Samsung could and will use to its advantage. In the meantime, let's keep the fingers crossed till March 29. I'll be doing the same over here. source: https://techlector.com/samsung-revolutionizes-samsung-galaxy-s8-plus-logo-leaks/

It's been said severally that your smartphone houses a wide range of bacteria and some other organisms in large numbers. This is because the warm smartphone is a perfect breeding ground for microbes. In fact, this shouldn't be news anymore. As an addition, it has also been reported that your mobile device harbours 5 times bacteria than a public toilet seat and that the kind of bacteria found on a person’s device could be used by researchers to detect a person’s diet, health status, gender, and even places visited by such person. Now, just for fun, let's think this through together. How much of bacteria would be on a device of an individual that spends a considerably large amount of minutes (or hours? I don't know. Hehehe) in the toilet, texting? How much? Well, your guess is good as mine. LOL. And yeah! No matter how clean you are or try to be with your device, germs and bacteria always seem to, somehow, find their way on your device. It's inevitable. Though we've seen efforts by a couple of few companies that's aimed at tackling bacteria contamination and germ infestation. Innovations like the Kyocera’s washable smartphone and the Corning’s specially formulated Gorilla Glass enriched with antimicrobial ionic silver have all contributed their quota in trying to limit the level of germs on tech products. However, these germ-control methods are restricted to only owners and users of such devices and accessories (the washable smartphone & Antimicrobial Gorilla Glass) respectively - not to whatever device you currently own. Introducing to you, a new healthier and more efficient way to kill germs on your phones. A method that doesn’t require the use of alcohol wipes, hand sanitizers, or any other chemicals that can damage your device when they come in contact with the device. This method requires the use of a tanning bed, and It’s called PhoneSoap. PhoneSoap is a "machine" that sterilises your phone by overlaying your phone in the UV-C light. It is, however, this light that kills 99.9% of germs and bacteria. The PhoneSoap is similar to the equipment used by various medical houses to sterilise and disinfect equipment and instruments. You can sure kiss those harsh chemicals goodbye. PhoneSoap recently launched a new model — PhoneSoap 2.0 — and this model is large enough to accommodate moderately-sized phones and phablets. There’s also a cable that passes through a hole so you can charge your phone while it’s being sanitized. You can also hear your device ring or maybe your alarm through the “acoustic” provided in the 2.0 model. Still, can't find any significant thing about the PhoneSoap? Well, the next sentence should impress you. PhoneSoap is powered by a regular micro USB cable, and the entire cleaning/sanitising process takes about 10 minutes with no emission of heat. Now, don't you think a 10 minute, 99.99% efficient sanitising process is something cool? After the cleaning process, a clean and germ-free device is assured. source: https://techlector.com/now-can-kill-germs-phone-machine/

What are the Airpods? When Apple Inc decided to do away the 3.5mm audio jack on their iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus smartphones, their reason was this: to drop off the now old technology that has existed for about a century. Letting go of the jack meant they had to find a way to include earpods; the Airpods were the solution. These are just like your regular headphones, but in this case, they are wireless. The Airpods make use of Bluetooth technology to connect with your iPhone, iPad or iWatch. In this tutorial, you’ll learn how you can connect this piece of marvellous hardware to your Android device – although this comes with some limitations. Before we delve into the tutorial proper, let’s look at some of the Airpods’ great features. • Strong Bluetooth connection: the guys at Apple did a great job here. While using the Airpods be rest assured that you’ll stay connected as far as you are within range of your phone. • Great battery life: it has an exceptional battery life that can last for up to five (5) hours before recharging. • The Airpods contain microphones inside of them that make it easy for you to make calls. • They also have sensors that detect when they are in your ears and when they are not. With this feature, whenever you take out the Airpods out of your ears, they automatically pause your song. Although the Airpods are excellent, they still come with a few drawbacks such as: • Mediocre sound quality. I know a lot of audiophiles will hate it for this. • They do not fit into all ears. How to connect the Airpods to your android device Now to the main aim of this tutorial which is to connect your Airpods to your Android device, to do this, follow these simple steps: 1. Make sure both Airpods are in docked inside the charging case 2. Open the charging case but do not remove the Airpods yet 3. At the back of the case is a little circular button close to the case’s bottom, press and hold this button until a LED placed at the middle of both Airpods turns on – the colour is white – and begins to blink. The blinking LED indicates that your Airpods are ready to be paired. 4. Turn on the Bluetooth on your android device and search for the Airpods. 5. Connect to the Airpods as you connect to any other Bluetooth headphone. Note that while connecting to the Airpods, several pairing prompts may pop up, click on them as appropriate. 6. You can now take out your Airpods and insert them into your ears. source: https://techlector.com/use-apples-airpods-on-android-device/

Yesterday, in a statement themed “An Update on Safety”, Twitter announced three changes that will be embodied onto its platform with an overall aim of curbing abusive contents, and also indirectly, abusive users. This development interestingly comes a week after top Twitter executives stated that “making the service safer for users was the company’s primary focus”. CEO Jack Dorsey also tweeted that the social media company was taking a “completely new approach” to abolishing abuse on the platform. “Today, we’re announcing three changes: stopping the creation of new abusive accounts, bringing forward safer search results, and collapsing potentially abusive or low-quality Tweets”, Twitter said. First, of the three (3) changes, Twitter will be stopping the creation of new abusive accounts. Twitter said it has been taking some measures to identify users who have been permanently suspended and prevent them from creating new accounts in the future. This control measure focuses more on controlling some of the most common, damaging and cliche forms of behaviour, most especially by accounts created only to abuse and harass other users. Secondly, we will get to see Twitter introduce a more safer search results. The ‘safe search’ idea aims at eliminating Tweets that contain potentially sensitive content whenever a search is being carried out by any user. Also, tweets from accounts that have been blocked or muted will also not find its way into search results. Abusive contents will, however, be discoverable if you want to find them or need them, but they just won’t be displayed in search results any longer. Last on the list; Twitter will henceforth hide tweets or replies to tweets that seem abusive or smell any form of abuse. Yes, “low-quality” tweets and replies will be collapsed from the reply section too. The rationale behind collapsing or hiding such selected tweets is to bring forward the most relevant conversations and replies that can be of utmost benefit to users. More like placing the high-class individuals on the VIP table or bringing the brilliant and bright students to the front seats in the s. The “low quality” tweets/replies will definitely still be accessible to those who seek them… but you’d have to walk your way to the back seat to get them for whatever reason you need them for. While these changes have only been announced, for now, users have however been assured that the changes will start rolling out in coming weeks. source: https://techlector.com/twitter-announces-3-new-changes-combat-abusive-tweets-users/ |
Asus has launched a new smartphone, the Asus Zenfone 3s Max with the model number ZC521TL as a successor to the Zenfone 3 Max which was launched last year. The Zenfone 3s Max is a high-end smartphone which runs on the latest version of the Android operating system and packs a monstrous battery with an equally long battery life. In aspects like the display size/technology and storage, things still remain the same, but in every other sector (including the smartphone design), the specifications of the standard Zenfone 3 Max have been altered to give a better smartphone. Asus Zenfone 3s Max Specifications, Review and Highlights The Asus Zenfone 3s Max has a 5.2-inch display which has a resolution of 1280 * 720 pixels (HD) and is covered with 2.5D curved glass. Most of the Android users may not be aware that there is a new version of the Android OS; for people in this category let me introduce you to Android 7.0 dubbed Nougat or Android N. As many of us tech-savvy fellows do know, that the release of a major OS version of any OS at all, is accompanied by several improvements and changes on the previous version. With the new Android OS release, one feature that is of notable mention is the power saving feature. I know most of us hate the “Connect charge, the battery is getting” low message, this tutorial should try to show you guys some methods to keep your Android N device lasting a bit longer on power. There are several ways this can be achieved, but the most interesting is through “Doze”, a feature released originally in Android 6.0 Marshmallow. But before we talk about “Doze”, let’s see some of the other methods that can be used to optimise battery usage on Android 7.0. Adjust Display Settings to increase battery life on Android 7.0 Nougat For some of us that do check our battery usage statistics, we should have noticed that the screen consumes a considerable amount of battery while it is on. By reducing the screen brightness and the timeout period – the time it takes for the display to turn off when not in use – you can save power. You can achieve this by either changing the adaptive brightness setting or sleep setting or both. Adaptive brightness The adaptive brightness setting can help you save power by changing the screen brightness based on the available light. Sleep/Timeout With this setting, you can select how long it takes your phone’s screen to turn OFF after some minutes or seconds of inactivity. You can choose from 15 seconds to 30 minutes with this setting. For longer battery life, it is advisable to choose a lower timeout period. Turning on battery saver This method is not peculiar to Android N users alone as previous Android OS versions can be able to do this. You can equally download an app from the Google Play Store such as “DU battery saver” or “Battery Doctor” to do this for you automatically when your battery level is very low. Note that the battery saver feature turns off while charging your device. To enable this feature for Android N do these: Go to “Settings” by clicking on the “Settings” app Click on “Battery” then click on “Battery Saver” Click on the “On/Off” switch You can also choose to make it turn on automatically by choosing one of three (3) options: Never At 5% battery level At 15% battery level Turning off wireless network and other connections when not in use Just like the previous method, this solution is also applicable to other Android versions and even to other OSes. Whenever you aren’t making use of a feature like Bluetooth or WiFi, it is advisable to turn them off. Doze Finally, we are here. “Doze” is a feature that was introduced in Android 6.0 Marshmallow. It is similar to the “Sleep” mode of computers. What this feature does is that it stops processes and background apps from running while your phone is not charging or the screen is turned off, thereby saving you battery. The version of Doze in Android 7.0 is a lighter version of its predecessor in Android 6.0; it shuts off cellular network access and checks for notifications periodically in what is called “maintenance windows”. While your phone is idle, Doze is working underground trying to give you extra battery time. I rest my fingers at this point. Let's share ideas, how do you increase your battery life?

Infinix is in no way slowing down, in 2016 alone, they have released awesome devices back to back, even released the Infinix HOT 3 and Infinix HOT 4 just few month’s apart. The recently released Infinix Note 3 is still making waves around, and now we hear of the rumoured Infinix Zero 4 with killer specifications, there is also a “Plus” version too, when we all actually did expect the “Pro” version. The Zero 4 leaked pictures does not have the back glass cover the Zero 3 and Zero 1 has, its also not Kevlar that the Infinix Zero 2 has, its aluminium and looks exceptionally premium, with similarities in design to the Note 3. It comes with a finger print scanner, beautiful antenna lines, with bottom speakers. I do not understand why Infinix bezels are always big, even with on screen buttons! These pictures were released on Infinix authority, and the specifications are still on speculation until the device is launched or confirmed specifications released by Infinix. When Virtual Reality (VR) started becoming more prominent at the beginning of this year (and maybe late last year), many techies and gadget lovers were excited by the prospects that the new technology offered, but most of that excitement was dampened by the outrageous price of the VR headsets when they were being sold. However, Google has brought some relief to VR lovers with the release of the Google Daydream View VR Headset which has been tagged “The VR Headset for the Masses”. Google created the Daydream View as an attempt to make virtual reality a reality for all and sundry, not for the wealthy alone. In doing so, the company does not compromise the quality of the product in correlation with its price; in fact, the Daydream View is better than most other headsets that are more expensive than it. Other things are bound to endear the Google Daydream View Virtual Reality headset to consumers. Google Daydream View VR Headset Specs & Features Requirements The Daydream View is a stand-alone headset; doesn’t require a special high-end computer to work. This is good from a consumer’s point of view because not everyone has the type of PC needed to use high-end headsets like the Oculus Rift or HTC Vive. Build Quality and Design When you hear the price at which the Google Daydream View is to be sold, you’d think it would be one crappy-looking headset with the blandest look possible on a headset. The reverse is the case, however, as the Daydream View is designed like other VR headsets in the higher price range. It’s made of soft fabric and is both comfortable on the face in usage and easy to wash/clean after usage. Comfort Comfort isn’t usually in the description of budget gadgets, but the Google Daydream View headset proves to be an exception. It comes with a soft face pad that goes easy on the face and is equally easy to maintain. The face pad is made of a densely perforated material which is sturdy enough not to slide off your face every few seconds, but still allows you to breathe through it; no need to remove the entire headset at intervals just to catch some breath. What can you do with the Google Daydream View VR Headset? Short Answer: Everything VR! Long Answer: Google has announced an app store like the Google Play Store for the Daydream View, from which you can download a lot of useful VR applications and games. Since this is not the first VR headset to be created, and indeed not the first from Google (there’s Google Cardboard), there is bound to be a lot of VR content to choose from in the store. These are the apps and services that have been confirmed to work correctly with the Google Daydream View VR headset: YouTube VR. Google Play Services. Google Street View (transforms what you can see in the real world to VR content). Google Photos. Netflix. Hulu. HBO. New York Times app. Etcetera.
