BusinessPaypal Letter To A Woman To Tell Her That Her Death Violates The Rules by TechLector(op): 10:44am On Jul 16, 2018
We say many times that for the companies we are only numbers, and although in the past, different marketing techniques have wanted to throw away this affirmation, the truth is that they do not always achieve it. Many times they deal with us forgetting that we are people and in some cases very unpleasant. As in the example, we have got a copy of a letter sent to a deceased; the letter from PayPal sent to a woman to tell her that her death violates the rules of their company.

What did the Paypal letter say?

Lindsay Durdle was a 37-year-old English girl who died due to breast cancer. Three weeks later his family received an unfortunate letter from PayPal, which states the following:

IMPORTANT – YOU MUST READ THIS CAREFULLY […] YOU ARE IN BREACH OF CLAUSE 15.4 (C) OF YOUR AGREEMENT WITH PAYPAL CREDIT, AS WE HAVE RECEIVED NOTICE THAT YOU HAVE PASSED AWAY. […] WE HAVE THE RIGHT TO CLOSE YOUR ACCOUNT, TERMINATE YOUR CONTRACT AND DEMAND REIMBURSEMENT OF THE TOTAL OUTSTANDING AMOUNT.

Her husband Howard, who was the one who read the letter, could not believe its content since PayPal was referring to the death of his wife as a violation of its rules.

Howard did not sit idly by and first through social networks, and then in an interview with the BBC, he denounced what had happened. It had been he who had taken care to communicate the loss, sending the documentation that the payment platform had requested: death certificate, testament, and identification.

This man says that he intends to fight so that the messages that the companies send automatically are reviewed since they can do a lot of damage in a situation like the one the family is going through.

How could it be otherwise, PayPal has taken action on the matter and has released a statement, which apologizes and states that what happened is due to a regrettable error.

PhonesHot News: Iphone 8 Plus Suddenly Exploded by TechLector(op): 2:19pm On Sep 30, 2017
An iPhone 8 Plus suddenly exploded while charging and is split into half after the explosion - According Gizmochina page.

The incident occurred in Taiwan when the owner of this iPhone 8 Plus plugged it into electricity in 3 minutes. It is the new iPhone 8, the 64GB Gold version that the new owner bought. The blast caused the iPhone to split in two. Soon after, the machine was shipped back to the Apple store for inspection.

The owner of the phone said she charged it with the charger attached to the device, before the explosion, the device is still working normally.

Poor quality charging usually causes phone crashes or flashes when charging. However, in this case, it is the charger of the company - sold with the device that is faulty.

If exploded when using the charger attached to the device, most likely the problem is in the phone itself as in the case of the Galaxy Note 7 last year, some experts said.

Earlier, many smartphone explosions were recorded globally, for various reasons.

Just last week, shortly after the new iPhone 8 was officially marketed by Apple, many users have reflected they have problems with the quality of the call. Then Apple acknowledged the error and said it was working on a solution.

Apple has not made a statement yet, and this is the first and only iPhone 8 case, so it's likely that the iPhone 8 users will not have a serious design problem like the Note 7 last year.

However, we still have to wait for answers from Apple.

AutosMonster Automobile: Ford F-150 Raptor 2017 by TechLector(op): 9:20pm On Sep 16, 2017
The F-150 Raptor Series which arrived on the automobile market back in 2010 has since then known to be the beast of the road and off the road. The F-150 Raptor is a certified off-road pickup, and it is not afraid to play rough or dirty anywhere anytime. The new 2017 F-150 Raptor has been reformed from the ground up and from front to the back. It comes with a new aluminium bodywork rather than the former steel body which makes it less heavy; we are talking about losing 500 pounds of weight off the truck. smiley

Also, the 6.2-liter V8 engine has been replaced with a smaller 3.5-liter turbocharged Ecotec V6 engine putting out 450 horsepower and 510 pound-feet of torque. But the lighter weight compensates for, the smaller engine giving it more power and less weight compared to the former 411 horsepower and 434 pound-feet of torque. The newly incorporated engine means you save about a quarter or more of fuel usage compared to the V8 engine.

With its new bodywork, the big box section frame is now visible and a new 44 percent larger Fox shock absorber that makes the former looks like a joke in comparison. The new Ford truck has an increased wheel travel with 13 inches in the front and 13.9 inches in the rear. The truck now has more width and height, six inches wider track and two inches suspension travel.

The Ford F-150 Raptor 2017 model comes with a switch mode for different terrain with just the push of a button you can switch between six different terrains at ease. The modes available for you to choose from are; Sport mode, Normal mode, Weather mode, Mud & Sand mode, Rock Crawl mode and Baja mode.

The Normal and Sport modes are pretty much for driving on a dry paved road, putting the truck in a two-wheel drive. The Normal mode as an automatic start-stop function and an upshift transmission that is at the mercy of the miles per gallon category. On the other hand, the Sport mode has a quicker throttle response and smoothens the responses in all areas with a transmission that sustains gears longer.

Rock mode offers maximum traction up steep and rugged cliffs with the engine in four-low with a 50.1 crawl ratio for maximum traction. In rock crawling, angles are important; the Raptor has an approach angle of 30 degrees, 22 degrees breakover angle and 23 degrees in departure with a locked in the rear differential.

If you happen to be in mud or sand, the Raptor will hold gears for some time longer, and traction control turned off to keep those wheels powered as you ascend the sand dune. It also locked into a 50/50 torque split in the four-wheel drive as the rear differential are locked in to make the best out of a low friction scenario.

Most fun happens in Baja mode with a button push the transmission goes into four-wheel drive and torque split between the rear and front. The antilag feature continues to keep the turbo spooled up when you are not on the throttle and guarantees you don't lose torque. Out of the 10-speed transmission, the top five gears are locked out, so the revs are high regardless of letting the truck move on its own. Lastly, the weather mode uses the transfer case to put the Raptor in an all-wheel-drive mode. When the computer senses a loss of traction, power is redirected to the front wheels, and the throttle has less thrust to prevent you from spinning off the road unique only to the Raptor.

Phones10 Reasons Why You Should Buy A New Iphone X by TechLector(op): 8:59am On Sep 16, 2017
10 Reasons Why You Should Acquire A New iPhone X

A cost of about 1,991 to 1,399 euros, depending on which version of the new Apple iPhone you are taking, is a reflection. We have the iPhone X and the iPhone 8, but we will be talking just about the former. Why should you invest that amount of money in your phone

High-quality Design

Apple's designer Jonathan Ive was involved in the design of the new iPhone, and we have to admit that despite the special horizontal shape of the camera, the design took its toll.

They also do not lack quality materials. Forget about aluminium or plastic, iPhone X bet the best. The side edges are made of stainless steel, and the front and rear covers form glass. Also, the smartphone is waterproof and dust-proof.

Display from Edge to Edge

We could see the so-called frameless display a year ago at Xiaomi, this year at Samsung and LG, but Apple is simply Apple. An OLED panel that covers 83% of the front surface will fulfil your dreams of a futuristic smartphone. Also, you can enjoy the brighter and finer colours thanks to the Super Retina technology.

Interestingly, the part that remained as if asymmetrically dissected is the phone's time and battery, network signal and Wi-Fi indicators are placed at the top corners. However, there may be a missing Home button, which has been the Apple smartphone's last decade.

AR as Part of the Phone

The camera in the new iPhone X has a technology that is designed for the virtual reality (AR). So if you like games like Pokémon GO or you want to make full use of virtual reality features, the new iPhone X has this feature, including engaging games and apps.

It will not be worth the price

Probably the best reason to buy the iPhone is on the financial side. When you get 1,200 / 1,400 euros in cash after a few weeks or months, there will not be the slightest problem with selling the smartphone.

The Apple iPhone is one of the best-selling smartphones on the bazaar as it can be sold within a couple of hours of the offer at a good price. iPhone is priced very slowly, so it also serves as a good investment for the next year.

The controversial new feature of unlocking the screen with a face can be a challenging experience for the contestants. Although the Face ID technology did not work perfectly for the iPhone X, it is an interesting feature that replaces classic fingerprint unlocker.

Face ID, in addition to unlocking, is also used to animate the face with Animoji, smileys or create a face mask. Face ID will especially appreciate Instagram maniacs and those who care about the security of their smartphone.

Wireless charging

The technology that iPhone fans have been waiting for for years and which can envy the competition is finally here. The possibility of putting a smartphone on the charging pad without the need to carry annoying cables is a luxury that should be a matter of course in 2017.

We believe that this technology will come gradually from all smartphone manufacturers and the annoying chargers will gradually disappear. There could also be a wider range of benches or coffee tables in public charging mats.

Unrivaled camera

For many, the main reason for buying a new iPhone is definitely a better camera that has once again increased quality. The camera on the iPhone X has received many enhancements, including the light change feature for portrait photography. No dual optical stabilization makes ready-made artwork from low-light photos.

Enjoy the Quad LED flash and the perfect selfie front camera with Fashion Mode portrait. As for video recording, Apple, in addition to Ultra HD, also offers Full HD video at 240 fps, so you can also shoot slow-motion shots.

Enhanced battery and smartphone durability

Another necessary feature of the new iPhone X is the battery strength. Batteries are never enough and especially for flagships. The iPhone X gets two hours longer than the previous iPhone 7.

A strong impetus is also the fast-charging support that will allow you to charge 50% of the battery in 30 minutes. Finally!

Powerful processor

The iPhone X gets the latest Bionic A11 processor with six cores (2 + 4). There is the talk of an increase in performance of up to 70% and a 30% increase in graphics performance. If you love iPhones for their fast and exceptionally reliable system performance, then this is one of the main reasons why it comes to iPhone X.

A great attraction is a support for neural network or a connected learning smartphone that will remember your habits and will gradually learn and adapt to your needs. Most likely, you'll know when using Face ID, even when you change your visage, iPhone will be able to recognize you.

Apple Exclusivity

For many of us, the reason is to buy a new smartphone simply because it's Apple. Those of you who use Apple devices know that the iPhone is not only a smartphone but a premium brand, design and the most reliable operating system.

Despite the fact that after announcing the price in the news, many left Apple disappointed, many of them may have branded themselves, but let's just admit that once again, after the new iPhones, X will be dusty, as everyone will want them.

This is not going to help why Android is better, why new flagship competitions are more exciting, innovative, and notably cheaper. Apple is simply the brand we love for discovering America, but finally, their devices will be sold as warm splashes.

The times when Apple marketed innovative products are probably behind us. We believe that next year we will see something more progressive and who knows maybe we will pay the last installment of iPhone X so we can get a new iPhone in future.

PhonesTecno Spark Plus K9: What Was Upgraded? by TechLector(op): 6:05pm On Aug 20, 2017
The Tecno Spark Plus K9 (or Tecno K9) is an upgrade to the Tecno Spark (K7). The Spark series has been dubbed to be widely accepted by the youths. We key into this thought as it comes with very great specs at a minimal and reduced price. While we have taken a good look at the specs of the Tecno Spark K7 in this post, let us take another ride into the world of the Tecno Spark Plus K9 smartphone.

Here, we would only focus on the parts that were upgraded, as all other specs remain the same.

TECNO SPARK PLUS K9 KEY SPECS

DISPLAY: 6 inches
PROCESSOR: Octa-core, 1.3 GHz
OS: Android v7.0
INTERNAL STORAGE: 16 GB
RAM: 2 GB
REAR CAMERA: 13 MP
FRONT CAMERA: 5 MP
FINGERPRINT SENSOR: YES
BATTERY: 3,400 mAh

DISPLAY

While the ordinary version comes with a 5.5 inches display, this Tecno Spark Plus comes with more. The display size of the Tecno K9 is pegged at 6.0 inches. This translates that the K9 provides users with a wider view screen. If you are a game and movie lover, or you just enjoy the big screen view, K9 is the deal. In this case, your two hands would be needed for usage.

RAM

A 2 GB RAM is responsible for the smooth running of the K9’s applications. This is preferable to the 1 GB RAM as present in the K7. Tecno Spark Plus proves to be a faster device with this upgrade.

As it’s powerhouse, the Tecno Spark Plus K9 smartphone packs a 3,400 mAh battery. This surely would last longer than the 3000 mAh present in the K7. K9 seems to be targeted more at heavy smartphone users. So for those who can’t do without heavily using their smartphone, and have to pick, this Plus version of Tecno Spark is recommended.

PhonesInfinix "Smart" Series Discussion Thread by TechLector(op): 8:10am On Jul 18, 2017
Infinix mobility has always been known to produce very great devices. The thing is they won't be disappointing again as they release this new series that is targeted at a particular market. The Infinix Smart has some features that suggest it is targeted at youths. And these features are great too. Would you please stay with us as we walk you through the specs of the Infinix Smart device.

DESIGN

I'm sure you must have used or seen Infinix phones before. They are very great when it comes to their device's design. I can boldly say that virtually all Infinix phones are nothing short of beautiful. The Infinix Smart is not left out of this. The device measures 144.9 * 71.9 * 8.35 mm, and it weighs 145 g. The weight makes it undoubtedly comfortable to be carried about. Different color variants of this device are available, which include Champagne gold, Sandstone Black, Bordeaux red, Mysterious blue and Apple Green.

DISPLAY

Display type of the smartphone is an IPS display. It has a very okay display size which is pegged at 5.0” HD. A display resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels is available on the device. It is expected to produce great images for the device users.

PROCESSOR AND OS

The Infinix smart is built on an Android operating system, N. It also runs on a Quad-Core CORTEX processor. This comes with a processor speed of 1.3GHz.

INTERNAL MEMORY AND RAM

For your storage of music, videos, files and many other documents, the Infinix smart avails users with a 16 GB internal storage. This storage can be expanded to the tune of 32 GB. A micro SD card would be helpful. While taking care of the smooth performance of the device is a 1 GB. This one, I think is a bit low, especially if the device is actually targeted at youths. Going by how rigorous they make use of their devices.

CAMERA

On the rear of the Infinix smart device, there's an 8 MP camera. This is as a 2 MP camera is spotted on the front of the device. Th rear camera would surely provide a great camera experience for users. The front camera on the other hand, though great too, might not be up to expectations.

OTHER FEATURES

In what seems like a rare move among smartphones, the front of the device has a dual stereo speaker. This would sure make the music experience the best you can ever think of. The Dirac Stereo WideningTM technology present in the phone produces a realistic stereo sound that you would not think to expect from a mobile device.

BATTERY

As its powerhouse, the Infinix smart device houses a 3060 mAh battery. Stand by time for this battery is pegged at 250 hours. With the energy-efficient XOS, the phone provides at least 2 days usage for an average user. I already envisaged it to be made for average smartphone users. Heavy users can settle for a much larger option like this.

PhonesNTEL Nova; A Feature Phone With 4g/volte - Discussion Thread by TechLector(op): 8:42am On Jul 07, 2017
Yesterday, 6 July, 2017, the newly revamped Nigeria Telecommunication Limited (Ntel) made history by launching one of the best feature phone ever seen. The 4G Long Term Evolution(LTE) network company launched the Ntel Nova feature phone; the latest addition to its VoLTE device chest.

There are a lot of feature devices that have their individual and specific features that makes them stand out (for example, the Imose Kampe with big 10,000mAh battery that can last up to 14 days and even serve as a power bank to charge other devices) but the Ntel Nova, is an all-round device; if not better.

The Ntel Nova is a feature phone, but in the real sense of it, it is actually a smartphone that has the appearance and price of a feature phone. With a capacitive touchscreen, Android Marshmallow v6.0 OS and a powerful 1GB RAM and 8GB internal memory, the Ntel Nova is worth having.

Let's have a look at what the device is truly made of shall we?

DESIGN & DISPLAY

The front face of the Ntel Nova reveals a compact and simple interface with the 3.5-inch capacitive touchscreen taking a higher percentage/ratio of the frontal interface. Four(4) dedicated soft keys can also be spotted at the front of the phone, each of which ia dedicated to selected social network and social messaging applications. I particularly love the way Ntel incorporated the soft keys into the bezel of the screen. Instead of leaving the space blank and lying fallow, it was properly utilized in an innovative manner. Impressive.

The back on the other hand is a made of a plastic material finely coated with paint that is available in three colours; Grey, Gold and Rose Gold. Likewise, the rear of the Nova feature phone also houses the camera, LED flash, the loudspeaker, and the NTEL logo.

Ntel must be commended for the simplistic design of the Ntel Nova phone.

OPERATING SYSTEM & STORAGE

What feature phone runs on an Android Marshmallow v6.0 OS?!? The Ntel Nova does. You know, I could name hundreds of smartphones (mid-range, high-end and premium) that don't run on the Android Marshmallow OS. Some barely even run the Android v5.0 Lollipop. Then Ntel, from nowhere, brings a feature phone that comes out of the box with Android Marshmallow and preloaded with basic social network and messaging apps. That is once again commendable.

In addition, the Nova phone also comes with 1GB of RAM to handle app usage and 8GB ROM for storage of documents, multimedia and other files you would like to keep on the device.

NETWORK & CONNECTIVITY

When you open the back of the Ntel Nova and remove the battery, you would find dual SIM card (micro SIM) slot. These slots support 2G, 3G and surprisingly, 4G/VoLTE connections. This Ntel Nova phone lacks WIFi but however can be used as a router (WiFi Hotspot) to share date to other devices.

To transfer files to another device or laptop, you can either send through Bluetooth or make use of the micro USB port.

CAMERA

Here is where it gets pretty exciting. The Ntel Nova phone has a primary 5-megapixels camera at the rear and it enjoys a LED flash support.

On the front, I guess it skipped my mind to mention that the Nova phone possess a tiny 2-megapixels camera. The front camera will take average selfies but may not do enough justice to your selfies under low light condition due to the absence of LED flash.

BATTERY

The Ntel Nova is powered by a removable 1,800mAh Li-Ion battery. The battery capacity is quite enough but could have been better. The battery pack has a standby time of 7 days.

PRICING & AVAILABILITY

The device is expected to retail at about N25,000, and includes a free bundle of 25GB Data, and 250 voice minutes to call any network, valid for one month. However, you can purchase the Ntel Nova at about 50% discount when you buy from any Ntel outlet.

PhonesRe: OUKITEL U22 Is A Budget Friendly Device With Four Cameras For N25,500 by TechLector(op): 8:13am On Jun 30, 2017
amazing design

PhonesOUKITEL U22 Is A Budget Friendly Device With Four Cameras For N25,500 by TechLector(op): 8:11am On Jun 30, 2017
OUKITEL U22 REVIEW

The smartphone market is saturated with a lot of devices from different OEMs. High-end devices are devices everybody wants to have. And how were high-end devices categorized back then? Impressive design, premium specifications and partly, high price of sale. However, things have changed now, majority of the mid-range devices available nowadays offer the same specs of premium high-end devices and at a relatively cheaper price. Perhaps there are no mid-range devices anymore, yeah?

The Oukitel U22 is a beautiful smartphone with specifications from the stables of OUKITEL that will leave you in awe and a price that will give your pockets no reason to get drained. Let's have a look.

DESIGN

The Oukitel U22 is a beautifully crafted piece of art and truth be told, at first glance, the design and appearance of the device catches ones attention. However, there's a flaw in the design of the device, the rear is an exact replica of the Google Pixel device. Oukitel could have come up with something better. Something nobel.

Nonetheless, the position of the keys, fingerprint scanner, camera and other components of the Oukitel U22 is nice.

The device comes into two colour variants - the Jet Black and Pearl White. I personally love the Jet Black because it is such a cool colour. The glossy back also adds to its beauty. The Pearl White is likewise a beauty to behold.

DISPLAY

For visuals, a big 5.5-inch IPS display with a 720 x 1280 pixels resolution is on board. The screen and the resolution will surely provide users with beautiful visual experience, colour crispness and sharp colour reproduction.

PROCESSOR, OS & STORAGE

The Oukitel U22 is powered by a Mediatek MT6580A chipset and a Quad-core ARMortex-A7 processor with a speed of 1.3GHz. The processor is okay, but quite old. But hey, it's a budget device remember? Irrespective, it will still handle device processes smoothly and flawlessly. I mean, it also comes with 2GB of RAM. Enough room for multitasking.

To keep files, media and other documents, you're provided with 16GB of internal storage. A 32GB storage would have been better but the U22 is a budget device, so it's understandable. However, there's an SD card slot for storage expansion.

Interestingly, the OUKITEL U22 runs on the latest Android Nougat v7.0, something that some premium high-end devices lack. Amazing, isn't it?

CAMERA

For the snappers, OUKITEL did a great job on the U22 smartphone. Embedding four cameras unto a budget device? That's pretty unexpected.

The ORALE X1 smartphone also has four cameras so I really don't fathom why Oukitel tags the U22 as the world's first smartphone with four cameras.

Anyway, on the Oukitel U22, the two rear cameras are 13MP and 2MP sensors; accompanied by a LED flash. While on the front, the double 8MP and 2MP shooters are up for selfie and video calling tasks. And like the rear camera, the front camera also enjoys LED flash support. This is applaudable because it provides a means to capture moments in the dark or at night.

BATTERY

The U22 smartphone comes straight from the manufacturing plant with a 2,500 mAh Lithium-Ion battery. The device lack the Quick-charge technology so the battery may take relatively long period to charge. Also, the battery pack is removable. So, you can have spare batteries in your bag or picket just in case you run out of juice on one, you can just easily swap batteries.

Phones#takecharge; The Infinix Note 4 Discussion Thread by TechLector(op):
Laaaaaaaaaaadies and Gentlemen! Infinix Mobility is here again!

As you all know it, the Infinix Note 3 was a hit. It still is! Large 6.0-inch screen, multipurpose and quick unlock fingerprint scanner, great camera, monster battery and Quick charge like we have never seen before. Users of the Note 3 smartphone device can say more about the device in affirmation to its uniqueness and quality in the comment box.

Now, while we are still busy basking in the greatness of the Note 3, Infinix is pulling a fast one on us by teasing users with pictures (or should I say renders) of the Infinix Note 3 successor; the Infinix Note 4. With the hashtag #TakeCharge being used in the online promotion of the upcoming device, Infinix is definitely coming with a bang with the Note 4.
https://i2.wp.com/techlector.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/06/infinix-note-4.jpeg?resize=600%2C313&ssl=1

Although we have speculated what the Infinix Note 4 could be like and the specs/features it could launch with in this article, our ears are still stuck to the walls ans every other available sources for more information we can garner about the upcoming Infinix Note 4. whispers We even think the Infinix Note 4 would launch alongside a PRO version.

Infinix wants you to take charge of your world with the upcoming Infinix Note 4.

The Infinix Note 4 will have powerful camera that you have never seen before. #TakeChargeOfYourSelfies

You wouldn’t have to worry about running out of battery juice. A BIG 4300mAh battery is in charge. #TakeCharge

Although there’s a big battery, the power adapter will charge your Note 4 to the 100% battery mark in no time.

0% to 45% in just half an hour?!? Don’t you find that stunning?

Albeit the Note 3 came with a bigger battery; 4,500mAh, I can’t help but to wonder why the Infinix Note 4 will be launching with a lesser battery capacity (4,300mAh). And lastly, of particular interest is the presence of a home button which doubles as the upcoming Note 4 fingerprint scanner. First time we’d see such on an Infinix smartphone.

There are surely still a lot more details that’s yet to reveal about the upcoming Infinix Note 4. But sadly, this is all we are cognizant of for now. As soon as new info pops up, be sure you’d be updated accordingly.

In the mean time, always remember to #TakeCharge of whatever it is you are doing.

PhonesInfinix Note 4 To Feature A Stylus Pen – The X-pen. by TechLector(op): 1:05pm On Jun 26, 2017
The last time we talked about an Infinix device, we mentioned that Infinix Mobility is about to release a successor to the Note 3 device. We also promised to come with new information about the upcoming device whenever we lay our hands on any updates. Well, as promised, we are here with not just one, but two. Stay with us.

The upcoming device, the Infinix Note 4 is under the “Note Series” family. Aside the specifications and other features of the Note 4 that we reported, new details from the smartphone company have indicated that the Note 4 will come with a stylus Pen known as the X-Pen.

Though the image above spots a design that’s quite different from the ones we earlier reported but we presume the new images, as seen above, is the Infinix Note 4 Pro.

We aren’t really sure if making the X-Pen available only on the Pro version of the Infinix Note 4 is a smart decision but we are definitely impressed with the idea of a stylus pen on the upcoming device.

We really can’t get it all for now but we can surely speculate as to what Infinix will embed on the Note 4 or Note 4 Pro while we await the July 3rd, 2017 launch.

What’s your take on the Infinix Note 4 XPen? You looking forward to it? Or nay? Or you’re just indifferent? Just let us know in the comments section.

Addendum: Just as a little reminder, the Infinix Note 4 will launch with a 2.5D 6.0-inch screen, beautiful 13MP + 5MP rear and front camera combination with dual LED flashlights, large 4,300mAh battery with custom XCharge which charges the device from 0% to 45% in just 30 minutes.

#TakeCharge with the Infinix Note 4.

PhonesWhat & What Not To Do When Your Smartphone Falls Into Water by TechLector(op): 1:55pm On Jun 25, 2017
Any smart phone user or owner out there would agree that one of the most dreaded place(s) to hold and operate a smartphone anywhere in the world is that place with large volume of water; particularly if you don’t own a waterproof or water-resistant device.

Surely, an average smartphone user would have, one way or the other, had their smartphone drop in water. Could be swimming pools, drainage system, the kitchen sink, the toilet water closet, in the shower, on the beach, or could even be rain. There are really numerous routes via which your phone can get wet.

Thanks to the emergence and upsurge of waterproof and water-resistant devices (yes, there really is a difference) like the Homtom HT20, Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+, Ulefone Armor 2, LG G6, Samsung Galaxy S7, Homtom HT20 Pro, Samsung Galaxy Xcover 4 etc., people have had to worry less about being overly careful when handling their devices near water bodies as they can just dip their hands into the water, remove their device, wipe it dry and they’re good to go.

However, for individuals without a waterproof device, you can do the following below to revive your smart phone back to life after the drowning experience.

WHAT TO DO

1. Firstly, whenever your smartphone drops in water, you must “quickly” remove the device out of whatever water it falls into, be it toilet water filled with urine. The faster you remove the device out of the water body, the higher its chances of survival. Reverse will be the case when you stand still, staring at your smartphone (or soon-to-be former smartphone) in awe before finally deciding to remove it after 5 minutes.
If the phone has a removable battery, the next best bet is to remove the battery.

2. If your device’s battery is non-removable, make sure you switch the device off as soon as it is out of water.

3. Afterwards, remove all other components that are removable. E.g SIM cards, SD card, back cover.

4. If you happen to know your way around disassembling a smartphone, you can go ahead and rip out every single part of the device carefully as this will hasten the drying up process. But if you aren’t tech savvy and do not have the tools or know-how to disassemble your device, skip this step and proceed to step 5.

5. Remove water on the surface with a dry cloth or preferably a towel. While doing this, be sure not to press any button or shake the device. This is to avoid the water from moving deeper into the phone.

6. Next step is to leave the smartphone to dry out for a relatively long period of time. Basically, the idea here is to put the device in an environment that will support its drying off.

7. A common practice is to dip the smartphone in a bag full of rice for 2-5 days. Rice is an effective moisture absorber, so it dries out the water in the smartphone quicker than leaving it on the shelves to dry.

WHAT NOT TO DO

When you have a smartphone drop in water, do not do the following as you could permanently damage your device.

1. Do not turn on the device immediately after removing it from water.

2. Do not, for any reason, plug the device to a power source.

3. Do not push any keys or button. You risk pushing water further into your device

4. Do not shake or blow air into the device. This also could push water into your device.

5. Do not apply any heat to the phone as excessive heat can do further damage to the phone.

PhonesTop Lite Apps That Reduce Battery And Data Drain On Your Smartphone by TechLector(op): 12:44pm On May 13, 2017
Sequel to the article on 5 Apps that drain your smartphone battery the most, TechLector brings to you; Top Lightweight (Lite) applications that reduce battery and data drain in your smartphone.

Hours back, an article was posted about applications that cause smartphone batteries to drain faster than they should. If you didn’t read it, you can do that HERE. If you have read it, you would notice that some of these applications are ones which we require on a daily.

Asides using them for fun, we utilize these apps in our businesses too. Talk about Facebook and Facebook Messenger. Some business owners use these medium to interact and chat with their clients, make new deals, nourish old ones and even to take up customer complaint or solve them.

The above reasons make them indispensable. Sort of. We believe the battery and data these applications drain are a small price to pay for their usefulness. Well, you are right. However, the price could be reduced to the barest minimum.

How? By installing “Lightweight” or “Lite” versions of such indispensable applications. Lite applications are simply toned down versions of the original application(s).

So by using these Lite apps, you won’t be missing out on much fun while you’re on the battery and data saving mission. Yes! They also use little space on your device’s memory too.

1. Facebook Lite

The Lite version of the Facebook app is available on various playstore. This lightweight application installs faster than the original Facebook app. Also, it launches and runs faster than the main Facebook app too. The user interface is simple, minimalistic and features all basic functions that main Facebook app does. Plus the size of the Facebook Lite is less than 1MB.

2. Messenger Lite

Oh Yes! The Facebook Messenger has a lightweight version too. This version takes small storage space, little data, minimal battery consumption and runs on 2G network. This is the smaller version of one of the most popular web browser on the Android platform. The UC Browser Mini (or UC Mini) uses less power and storage space unlike its bigger version.

This application is the small version of the main Camera360 app. This app still manages to provide good HD images and amazing filters like the main app. It is also small in size (about 4MB) and consumes less battery.

Phones5 Apps That Drain Your Smartphone Battery The Most by TechLector(op): 11:58pm On May 11, 2017
The importance of having sufficient battery power in any smartphone nowadays cannot be overstated. We, as humans, have become our smartphone. We own it. We breathe it. We live it. This addiction to our smartphones have made the battery one of the most important component in a smartphone.

My point is, the level of smartphone usage of the average human per day requires more battery power. More than smartphone manufacturers embed in devices. We text, tweet, update our social media platforms, share images, videos, download files, GPS, alarm, surf the internet, watch movies, read books and many more.

Normally, certain smartphones are built and designed to last for long periods. But somehow, the opposite happens. An example is a scenario where a smartphone manufacturer claims the 4000mAh battery on a particular device can give about 48hours of usage but ends up lasting for 10hours.

However, what most smartphone users haven’t really taken their time to ask is “what could be the cause of this?” Do they have a faulty battery? Or worst case, a faulty device.

While the above suggestions are possible reasons why your smartphone battery drains quickly, there are certain battery draining apps that can shortchange your battery’s longevity. See them below.

Top 5 battery draining apps

1. Facebook

One of the app that drains your smartphone battery the most is Facebook. Facebook drains so much battery that about 5 minutes on your Facebook timeline could cause a 10-20% drain in battery level.

2. SnapChat

SnapChat is fun, no doubts. The image sharing, video streaming and updates are things majority of youths, even adults, now live for. Sadly, this app drains a lot of battery juice. Not only battery power, it also drain storage too, as it downloads all the video and image update on your Snap into some hidden folders.

3. Facebook Messenger

While Facebook drains a lot of battery, its ally, Facebook Messenger also follows in the same footstep. The constant notification updates and prompts are one of those things that makes the messenger a battery drainer.

4. Google Maps

Google Maps has saved lives. In fact, the number of missing persons cases wouldn’t have reach the uncountable height if not for this wonderful app. Sadly, as useful as this app is, it does quite some havoc to your smartphone battery. The app uses your device’s GPS/location feature and it takes quite some battery juice.

5. Netflix

This app, just like SnapChat, has quickly evolved to be one of the most used app. Netflix fills that void of both momentary and ceaseless boredom. But there’s a “but”. The constant streaming of your movie or series not just only zap data/internet, it drains your battery as quickly as possible too.

Phones5 Reasons Your Smartphone Battery Drain Quickly by TechLector(op): 10:55am On May 02, 2017
Ever since the inception of mobile devices, long lasting battery life was an important factor users or buyers take into consideration before purchasing any phone. However, the battery factor back then wasn't as stringent as it is now in the "smartphone era".

In this era that we are currently living in - the era of rapidly advancing smartphone technology, different applications and other innovative smartphone functions springing up every minute, the amount of power (battery juice) these applications and functions consume for their proper functioning is huge! And the realistic side of the story is that we can't do without these applications and functions.

Talk about your alarm that wakes you for work daily, the internet, your Google Map application (which uses GPS), your social media and messaging apps that syncs information every second and so on. While a minor arm of smartphone users are aware how and why their smartphone battery drains quickly, a major chunk aren't.

The next paragraph will therefore reveal the top 5 things that makes your smartphone battery drain quickly. In no particular order, here they are;

1. High Screen Brightness

One of the main smartphone battery drainer is a very high screen brightness. When your screen brightness level is set to the maximum or to a level that is unnecessarily too high for your eye, not only will your smartphone battery drain quickly, you are also gradually hurting your battery and shortening the life span.

2. Background Applications

There are some applications that you might have installed on your smartphone run/stay open in the background even after closing them. These apps cause havoc to your battery life and makes your smartphone battery drain quickly.

You can check out these apps in the "Application" section in the settings menu.

3. Old/Outdated Operating System (OS)

You see, every new OS released by any smartphone manufacturer brings new fixes to your smartphone that directly reduces battery drainage or by correcting bugs that causes battery drainage.

In simple words, if your smartphone runs an operating system (say Android v4.4 KitKat), there's a high probability that your device's battery will drain faster than someone running Android v5.0 Lollipop.

4. Having Wi-Fi turned on

Having your Wi-Fi turned on at all times - especially when you have no intention of using it or when there is no available network will only reduce your battery juice.

How? Whenever your Wi-Fi is on, your smartphone will keep searching for any available network and won't stop until it finds one. You know what this means right? It (Wi-Fi) will use up your battery; even when you yourself aren't using your phone.

5. Battery Saving Apps

It's understandable for you to think the various battery saving applications (Battery Saver as they're ironically called) you installed on your device will elongate your battery life. Sadly, they aren't doing yourbattery any good. They increase the load on your smartphone and in turn makes your device use more battery power.
